The Villain's Story

Chapter 953: Las Vegas!

Chapter 953: Las Vegas!

What was there to do in Las Vegas? The city itself was famous for its entertainment district.

Th casinos, the red light district, and many more. Las Vegas, except for the walls seperating each sector, had hardly changed after the invasions.

The monster waves were but a steady rate if revenue for the city. Furthermore, with the rise of awakened and mutant monsters, new games had appeared.

Monster fights, and Awakened duels were the two main attractions in Las Vegas, it was the only city in the world that heavily promoted it, and the first to adopt it.

Monster fights were the most popular, since Awakened duels could be rigged, and had been rigged a lot of times before as well.

But then again, what else was there to city besides gambling and letting your dick loose? It was still a city, therefore it offered everything.

However, Alan was not interested in anything here at all. All he did after arriving at his hotel was leave for a few minutes, in order to scout the city and make sure he could teleport anywhere.

No one could sense him, the city lacked any prominent SSS-rank individuals, except for Daniel Park, who had come to visit. The SS-rank stationed in the city was weak compared to Alan, and his expertise in magic was immense.

It was easy hiding from human beings, who lacked enhanced senses. Even as they rose in rank, without certain skills being active all the time, they would never notice Alan.

Turns out, possessing an affinity for shadows was really useful for sneaking around, although Alan could never get used to travelling in the ’Shadow Realm’.

It was odd, really odd...

Regardless, he had successfully completed his mission, now, he would be able to go anywhere in the city in an instant.

Other than that, he was at a loss of what to do. He didn’t really need to go and gamble. It wasn’t like he lacked money.

His account was stacked from the sale of the spatial rings. And he also had the funds given to him by the House of Death.

Although they had limited use here, but Alan was pretty sure any knowledgeable guy would happily accept elven coin.

He didn’t really find a casino interesting, and he was sure his luck was only subpar. The monster fights and Awakened duels were hardly of interest as well.

What joy is there to be held seeing two weak monsters fight to the death, same with awakened? Nothing on Earth could really faze him at this point.

He had just gotten that strong. He didn’t have any interest in seeing weak lifeforms fight.

’Is that my ’pride’ at work?’

He thought, finding the idea of even watching some weaklings fight disgusting. His genes were really getting in the way of his thoughts. His ’pride’ was getting too high, and needed to be dealt with before it was an issue.

Arrogance was bad, Valus had drilled that into him. It was the one flaw most inconsistent in the ranks of transcendence.

Epic ranks were usually arrogant, having been in the first rank of transcendence. They somewhat deserved it, but he had been told that arrogance had been the death of many.

On the other hand, no legendary rank was arrogant. The realm where the mastery of the mind was involved was usually free of such inhibitions. They were all logical.

Mythical beings, on the other hand, were wild cards. It was hard to tell, considering every mythical being was usually true to themselves to an absurd degree. The mythical rank represented completion of the Physical, Mental, and Spiritual aspects of oneself, therefore... Everyone was different.

Divine beings, on the other hand, were the most arrogant. But then again, no one could ever be divine if they weren’t arrogant enough about it. One needed such absolute confidence in oneself to become a God. You had to believe you were special, and if you reached that rank, you really were.

It is no easy feat becoming divine. As for Supreme beings... Each and every one of them was fighting some sort of depression from all the loops.

Whatever deserved ego they had, Aranus and the Abyss had crushed that too many times. If Divine beings could vividly remember the loops, they would also be the same.

Primordials... Well, Alan had met only two, both the exact opposites of each other. Ariel was...

’...’

Scary enough that he stopped thinking about it, fearing she was peering into his mind.

Alan signed, thinking that the ’pride’ stemming from his genetics had to be dealt with one way or another, preferrably sooner rather than later.

As he lay on his bed, He tried contacting Sabrina, but she was still ghosting him. He was really worried in that regard, had he done something wrong to offend her? What had he done that caused this? Frankly speaking, he had no clue... Why was she ignoring him for so long?

Maybe she was busy with her family and stuff? But was that really it?

A frown appeared on his face, evident that he was ’sulking’. Though he would never admit it.

Alan closed his eyes, intending to go to sleep. He had nothing better to do anyways. However before he dozed off, he did have one other thing to attend too.

Strings of Mana appeared from his body and promptly attached themselves to the members of Twilight in the hotel. Alan was still in charge of them, and Richard would chew him out if he let anything happen to them.

Those from Behemoth were still mad about being dethroned from the second place in the guild rankings, and there was no telling what Logan had instructed them to do.

There was Titan to watch out for as well, emboldened by the fact their guild master was here. Daniel could also get them to do some shit.

The strings of Mana were a failsafe, they would immediately inform him if anything went wrong so he could offer assistance quickly.

With that done, he quickly went to sleep.
