The Cultivation Food Stall: Sold Out Every Night

Chapter 118: Family Boss Lu Has Updated

Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Family, Boss Lu Has Updated

Nothing like a ghost story bright and early to wake you up.

The commotion had woken Lu Wu right up, and she was now flipping crepes with renewed vigor.

Qin Zhan and Lou Xiaotian, on the other hand, were miserable.

They had no idea how those two had found them. It was only after they were tired of running and stopped to ask that they learned it was the handiwork of "Shill Number One."

"In that case, in a little while..."

As Qin Zhan spoke, he looked at Lou Xiaotian and saw the exact same emotion in the other’s eyes.

CHIME CHIME.

Both of their One World Communication devices were ringing.

Qin Zhan’s messages were from Jiang Yunhe and the Heavenly Wind Taoist, while Lou Xiaotian’s were from Zhang Yue and Uncle Li.

"Ten of each flavor of crepe."

The messages they received were pretty much the same.

The post from Shill Number One had been plucked from the vast sea of information by some sharp-eyed foodies and re-shared.

"Fam, Boss Lu is back! Go, go, go!"

"On my way, wait for me."

"Crepes... hehehe... my crepes... hehehe..."

Even the disciples of the Bun Sect got the news. They were all going wild in the chat while racing over.

It was obvious the place would be swamped with people any minute now.

’If we wait, we’ll be stuck in a long line. We have to stock up on crepes before the crowds arrive.’

Without another word, the two of them got in line behind the pair of sisters.

’Even if we’re full from breakfast, there’s still lunch and dinner. We’re cultivators; we can eat without getting fat. We’ve got to have a late-night snack to replenish our energy, right?’

’These crepes are so small, they’ll be gone in a few bites.’

’Thinking about it that way, the few crepes we already have aren’t enough. Not nearly enough!’

The aroma of wheat slowly rose from the crepe griddle.

By now, the sky was bright.

Sunlight spilled onto the crepes, plating them in a faint golden light. Sliced in half, the crepe shamelessly revealed its distinct, layered interior to the hungry customers.

The sauce was drizzled over the crepe, but it felt like it was flowing straight into the customers’ hearts.

Mumu, who got the first crepe, lowered her head and took a deep sniff. Her eyes grew hazy with pleasure as she savored the various intertwined scents.

She opened her mouth, about to bite down.

A hand shot out of nowhere, snatching her prize.

Having finally found the opening she was looking for, Tian Tian grinned triumphantly at Mumu. As Mumu stared back with a look of utter betrayal, Tian Tian opened her mouth wide and took a huge bite, devouring half the crepe.

"So hot."

HISSS!

Tian Tian covered her mouth with her hands, afraid even a crumb would fall.

She exhaled in small puffs. Once the temperature in her mouth subsided, her seared tongue began to savor the wonderful taste.

The sweet, fragrant sauce tantalized her taste buds. After a few chews, the aroma of sesame came through, taking center stage.

The sesame seeds, a subtle garnish rather than a main star, danced in her mouth, accompanied by a hint of fragrant oil that completely awakened her appetite.

"Delicious."

With her mouth too full to speak, Tian Tian stopped dodging Mumu’s attacks altogether. She simply turned her back, letting it absorb the blows as she greedily devoured the crepe.

’It’s too good.’

’Every single ingredient in this little crepe is perfectly balanced.’

’The different aromas form distinct top, middle, and base notes, offering a new discovery with every stage of the bite.’

’A beating in exchange for a crepe. Totally worth it.’

Finishing the last bite, Tian Tian licked the residue off her fingertips and smiled like a flower.

Right now, all Mumu wanted was to destroy something beautiful.

"Second one’s ready."

Her hand, just raised to strike, was stopped in its tracks by those words—a hard counter. To prevent Tian Tian from stealing her food again, Mumu was on high alert.

She instantly teleported to the side of the stall, grabbed the crepe, and promptly left her mark on it.

’Marking complete.’

’But Mumu had forgotten that they used to share food all the time. They never cared about a little thing like cooties.’

After giving Mumu a pure and innocent smile, Tian Tian stood obediently in line.

She’d gotten her revenge. Now, they could go back to being the best, inseparable sworn sisters in the world.

Hot crepes came off the griddle one after another.

Lu Wu’s movements became more and more practiced.

Her spatula moved slightly, separating the crepe from the griddle. She cracked an egg onto it, and once the egg had just begun to set, she flipped the entire crepe over with a flick of her wrist.

That effortless skill reminded Lou Xiaotian of his own embarrassing history.

’He swore he would never be overconfident in front of Boss Lu again.’

After Lu Wu finished making crepes for Qin Zhan and Lou Xiaotian, she looked up and saw a cloud of dust rolling towards her from the distance.

Looking closely, one could see that as the distance between the crowd and Lu Wu shortened, many of the foodies were resorting to dirty tricks.

All just to get there a little bit earlier.

Arriving one step sooner meant eating one step sooner.

To that end, some companions who had arrived together chose to backstab each other.

A kick to trip you, a tug on your hair to pull you back, and if all else failed, there was always the despicable "monkey steals the peach" groin attack.

The female foodies, however, weren’t flustered at all. Seeing the scheming looks in the men’s eyes, they even closed the distance proactively.

Faced with the women’s bold attitude, the male foodies became hesitant and restrained.

And then...

"Screw you!"

A female foodie lashed out with a kick, sending a male foodie to the very back of the pack.

’For a bite of food, the female foodies’ acting skills were getting more and more refined.’

"Boss Lu..."

The shouts grew closer.

There were a lot of people, but Lu Wu wasn’t flustered in the slightest. Instead, her eyes lit up.

’In the swirling dust, my customers have respawned. My quest progress is saved!’

"It really is Boss Lu! We weren’t tricked this time!"

The foodies, who had been led on a wild goose chase by traitors in their ranks, held back their bitter tears.

"Boss Lu, do you remember me?"

"I’ve been following you since you were selling buns."

A foodie who had successfully claimed first place stood excitedly before the stall, even casting a spell to blow the dust away.

"Yes, I remember you."

Lu Wu smiled, looking at the familiar face.

"Thank you for your support."

’Anyone who follows me all the way out here has to be a true fan.’

"Don’t mention it, Boss Lu! We should be thanking you for letting us eat so much delicious food."

The foodie was ecstatic.

’The Sect Hierarch is thanking me!’

’Oh my, if I wasn’t afraid of scaring the Sect Hierarch, I’d jump on her for a group photo!’

’The Sect Hierarch remembers me! This proves the Bun Sect holds a special place in her heart.’

’It really is a relationship of mutual devotion between the Sect Hierarch and her followers.’

’Waaaah, I’m going to go back and write up a whole proposal. I’ll make the Bun Sect bigger and stronger; we’ll reach new heights of glory!’

"Boss Lu, we love you!"

"I think you just love the crepes!"

"What, can’t I have both? A lover on each arm?"

The foodies chattered away, telling Lu Wu how much they’d missed her. Amidst the endless words, Gou Aotian stretched lazily and began to supervise the customers’ payments.

Huohuo also returned from the treetop, circling above the crowd.

With her fiery, piercing gaze, she made sure no one dared to cut in line.

The crowd was noisy yet harmonious.

The scenes from the past replayed themselves. For the foodies who found Lu Wu, it was like finding home.

They gathered joyfully, celebrating that they could eat delicious food once again.

"Get your crepes here! Get your delicious crepes here!"

Only the Amplification Stone was left behind, its voice still ringing out from the treetop.

The village awoke in the morning sun. The villagers looked at the Amplification Stone, hidden by the treetops, and were speechless with frustration.

’How are we supposed to get that public nuisance down?’

’What a headache.’
