Chapter 110: Chapter 110: Someone Blocks Iron Bull
"With shit-stirrers like him around, the Mutants will never become powerful even if they try!
"Is this the legendary incompetent teammate hiding within the enemy ranks?" Yang Bo mused as he watched the Tiger-faced King uproot the Unlucky King’s tribe with his men. They took all the people and supplies. Upon arrival, the Tiger-faced King hadn’t said a word; he simply tossed the corpse of the Unlucky King in front of the tribe, and they immediately surrendered.
Naturally, Yang Bo took the opportunity to collect some biological samples from the Unlucky King.
Yang Bo followed the main force for nearly two days before arriving at the Tiger-faced King’s lair. Once here, he found himself in familiar territory. Using Invisibility, he first checked the area where he had previously dumped the Hydrogen Bomb materials. To his surprise, he found that the Tiger-faced King was unwittingly helping him hunt electric eels, essentially farming experience points for him.
He decided that in the future, when he logged into the game, he would come back to drop off more good, radioactive stuff.
Following a familiar path, Yang Bo arrived at his usual mob-farming spot from the game. Standing on the mountain outside and looking at the familiar surroundings, he felt a sense of surrealism. The distant No. 16 Sentry Base actually looked abandoned. Even the Laser Cannons mounted on it were completely silent.
"What’s going on?" he wondered.
What Yang Bo didn’t know was that the female commander had received an order from the Alliance to recall her troops. Her first priority was to evacuate everyone from the outpost to avoid casualties. The outpost’s location was peculiar—even if the Mutants occupied it, it held no real value. They could only loot it and leave. By avoiding personnel losses now, it would be extremely easy to recapture it later once the Alliance’s personnel, equipment, Warplanes, and other resources were fully deployed.
The female commander’s main concern was guarding against any remnant Pirates or other hostile forces.
Meanwhile, unmanned Warplanes continued to relentlessly strike the Mutants.
"Are the Mutants really this formidable?" Yang Bo murmured. Completely unaware of the voluntary withdrawal, he watched the Mutants hustle in and out of the outpost, hauling things away. These guys were taking absolutely everything—and even fighting amongst themselves over the loot.
After observing for less than half an hour, Yang Bo saw the Tiger-faced King lead a massive group of over two hundred men, charging magnificently toward the No. 16 Sentry Base.
"This guy is bullying the weak again." Yang Bo didn’t even need to keep watching; he knew exactly how people like the Tiger-faced King operated. The smaller groups of Mutants would most likely be robbed blind.
"If there were more people like him among the Mutants, it would be a blessing for the Alliance.
"But I can’t even farm electric eels right now. The place is completely chaotic. The former safe zones are now swarming with Mutants.
"Let’s go see if the Iron Bull still recognizes me." Since the No. 16 Sentry Base had been temporarily breached, Yang Bo needed to find a hiding spot anyway.
After some thought, he figured checking on the Iron Bull was his only option. Back when he first called out to it, his goal was to ensure the creature would recognize his voice in the future, even if he changed his Mecha.
Over an hour later, Yang Bo arrived at the Iron Bull’s location, only to be confronted by the sight of hundreds of Mutants. Some wore Energy Armor, while others were equipped with Biological Mechas.
Strangely, despite their large numbers, these Mutants weren’t being attacked by Warplanes. He didn’t know if the drones simply hadn’t detected them yet or if their mission parameters had been altered.
Waves of Energy Fluctuations pulsed continuously from within the Iron Bull’s lair.
"Is someone bullying the Iron Bull?" Looking down at the hundreds of Mutants and then up at the whistling Warplanes in the distance, a tactic quickly formed in Yang Bo’s mind.
First, he slipped into a cave and summoned his Mecha. He modified its exterior to resemble a Ninth Generation Mecha. Even the Laser Cannon was a fake, a mere cosmetic shell.
Now, the Mecha looked rather incongruous: a Ninth Generation Mecha equipped with a Laser Cannon, dual-wielding two Energy Weapons. Yang Bo had split his original five-meter-long Energy Weapon into two. Although they were shorter, long polearms weren’t very practical in the cramped Underground World anyway.
Exiting the cave, Yang Bo activated the Mecha’s Rocket Backpack and instantly soared into the air. Just as he predicted, this bold move drew the attention of the Alliance’s unmanned Warplanes. As they screeched toward him, Yang Bo secretly rejoiced and sent his entire Mecha plummeting straight toward the crowd of hundreds of Mutants below.
The Mutants heard the commotion behind them—the sonic boom from Yang Bo piloting his Mecha skyward. Turning around, they were momentarily bewildered by the sight of an Alliance Mecha.
In the next second, their confusion morphed into wild ecstasy. Over a hundred Mutants, their Energy Armors flashing with light, charged madly at his Mecha.
Yang Bo immediately turned tail and sprinted straight up the mountain. Behind him, the arrogant Mutants leaped into the air, intending to rain down on him and cut off his retreat. Little did they know that the moment they went airborne, they would be struck by Lasers and instantly burst into flames.
The few unlucky souls who had vaulted upward were instantly detected by the drones, which met them with a flurry of laser fire. A second later, the entire valley was saturated with a dense barrage of Lasers.
Four or five unmanned Warplanes shrieked in, raining concentrated Lasers down into the Mutant ranks. At this point, the distance between the drones and the Mutants was less than a thousand meters.
After a single synchronized volley, the hundreds of Mutants were reduced to blossoming streaks of radiant light.
By this time, Yang Bo had already dashed into another cave. He stored his Mecha away, activated his Invisibility, and stood at the entrance, calmly observing the utterly annihilated Mutants.
Yang Bo no longer felt anything for the Mutants. These guys only served as a source for bizarre, random abilities.
At the entrance of the Iron Bull’s lair, two Mutants wearing Biological Mechas watched in horror as their comrades were obliterated by the sudden rain of dense Lasers. They let out heart-wrenching roars.
Still cloaked in Invisibility, Yang Bo swiftly approached the Iron Bull’s location.
As soon as he reached the entrance, he heard the violent sound of Energy Fluctuations clashing. Yang Bo didn’t dare get too close, fearing that the shockwaves from the Energy collisions might deactivate his Invisibility.
Simply put, Invisibility was still a manifestation of Energy, and Energy shockwaves could disrupt that manifestation.
The two Mutants guarding the entrance in their Biological Mechas stood over six meters tall. The exterior of their Biological Mechas resembled an animal’s keratin shell, shimmering with a faint Metal luster.
Yang Bo stealthily maneuvered behind them and suddenly summoned his Mecha.
Before the two Mutants had time to react, his Mecha lurched forward with immense force, shoving them both out of the cave entrance.
They were immediately greeted by blinding flashes of Lasers. The two Mutants in Biological Mechas lasted for barely a second before being blown apart, taking at least a hundred direct hits in that brief instant.
Mecha Pilot +16!
Mecha Pilot +16!
"If the doorguards are B-level experts, doesn’t that mean the one targeting the Iron Bull inside is an A-level expert?" Yang Bo murmured. He was quite satisfied with the Skills he received. Gaining Mecha Pilot was decent—what use would he have for Mecha Maintenance right now? Remaining cloaked in Invisibility, he sneaked deeper into the cave.
