Interstellar Era: Starting As a Cleaner

Chapter 120: Clever Use of the Miniature Hydrogen Bomb

Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Clever Use of the Miniature Hydrogen Bomb

Unexpectedly, however, after Iron Bull unleashed his attack, the hunk of metal actually ceased to emit any Energy Fluctuations.

"That’s strange," Yang Bo muttered. He summoned his Mecha and carefully scanned it. Sure enough, there was nothing.

He leaned in for a closer look. The hunk of metal, about the size of an ostrich egg, was covered in bizarre patterns, though it was now riddled with countless cracks.

At that moment, Iron Bull walked over and stomped hard on it. Yang Bo didn’t try to stop him.

"Oh!" When Iron Bull lifted his foot, Yang Bo realized the outer shell had shattered, revealing a bright red, perfectly round stone about the size of a chicken egg.

"The giant snake must have relied on this outer layer to absorb the Energy from whatever is inside," Yang Bo said, nodding in understanding.

Of course, he didn’t assume it was a piece of high technology. After all, much of high technology was actually modeled after animals, like radar and such.

And even if it was high-tech, it was broken now, wasn’t it?

The red stone didn’t emit any distinct sensation, but it seemed to contain something akin to flowing liquid inside.

"For you?" Yang Bo asked, pointing at the object and looking at Iron Bull.

Iron Bull shook his massive head and kicked the red stone toward Yang Bo.

Yang Bo knew the stone was no ordinary object. The Energy Fluctuations had been incredibly strong just moments ago.

By this time, the other rhinoceroses of the Iron Bull Race had arrived. Big ones, small ones, black ones, and gray ones all stared at the metal strewn across the ground, their beady little eyes wide.

Iron Bull’s companion let out a cry, and the rhinos, regardless of size, swarmed forward to gnaw on the Mecha Metal.

"Haha," Yang Bo chuckled. Every time he saw these rhinos munching on metal, he found it highly amusing.

In less than an hour, the Mecha parts were entirely gone, devoured clean by the herd.

Yang Bo tentatively touched the gemstone on the ground. He didn’t feel anything special. He then examined the shattered fragments of the outer casing. To his surprise, the fragments were metallic—Homogeneous Metal, specifically of the Fire Attribute.

"This has to be good stuff," Yang Bo thought, storing the fragments and the red stone into his Mecha’s storage compartment.

"I just lack experience," he mused. He knew the stone was valuable, but unfortunately, he simply didn’t know enough about it.

He suddenly smacked his forehead. "The giant snake’s fangs must have been great materials. Oh well, forget it. I already have an Energy Weapon anyway. Individual combat prowess really doesn’t amount to much in the face of a Mecha."

"This place is great. I’ll figure out the surrounding environment first, then get ready to train," he planned.

He looked at an adorable little rhino. These rhinos were much larger than the ones on Earth, though they looked largely the same. The little rhino perked up its ears, staring at Yang Bo with its small eyes.

Yang Bo reached out to pet the little guy, only to find it prickly. It actually had hair.

As the rest of the rhinos gradually dispersed, Yang Bo stared at the rhino’s hair. Struck by an idea, he plucked a single strand.

The next second, Iron Bull trembled in sheer terror and fell flat on the ground. In an instant, Yang Bo had transformed into a rhinoceros—just one size smaller.

Iron Bull’s brother was also scared into sprawling on the ground, his small eyes bulging out. He was probably screaming internally, "Oh, my heavens!"

Yang Bo was equally bewildered. "I tested this with beef back on Pado Star, didn’t I?" he wondered.

"Did that shady merchant sell me fake beef?" He felt incredibly strange now, especially looking at the world through this new field of vision, with a horn smack in the middle of his eyes.

Iron Bull and his companions were absolutely dumbfounded. As Iron Bull scrambled to his feet, Yang Bo quickly transformed back into a human, afraid of causing a misunderstanding.

When Yang Bo transformed into a rhino once more, he turned around to examine his own body. He realized he looked different from Iron Bull. His Energy Armor seemed to have transformed along with him. His frame wasn’t particularly large—about 1.8 meters tall and less than three meters long. Unlike the smooth skin of the other rhinos, his body looked as if it were clad in a layer of armor.

Walking felt awkward at first, but after a few steps, he got the hang of it and couldn’t resist letting out a howl.

ROAR!

Yang Bo tentatively howled again, and the very next second, his body snapped back to its human form.

"Holy crap, is this what the Biological Summoning ability is used for?" he thought. When he howled just now, he sensed that the other rhinos had an urge to resist, while Iron Bull’s brother looked somewhat enraged.

Yang Bo immediately realized the true application of his Biological Summoning Skill.

"So, if I turn into a specific Exotic Beast, I can command its kin?" he guessed.

Seeing his brother’s agitated state, Iron Bull bumped heads with him and spat out an Energy Pillar.

His companion swallowed it in one gulp. Afterward, the hostility in the gaze he directed at Yang Bo vanished.

Yang Bo was left speechless. It seemed he had indeed offended Iron Bull’s brother earlier.

"This Biological Summoning ability is insanely strong. As long as I find an invisible rat, I can... gather all the rats together and wipe them all out in one fell swoop?" he pondered.

"It’s the same for the electric eels. I could command the other electric eels to gather, and then drop a single bomb on them?

"It’s a pity this ability can’t be used in the game; I can only use it in reality."

After thinking for a moment, Yang Bo simply decided to check his Skills. The most significant changes had occurred in a few of them.

Mecha Pilot: Master (1102/10000)

Mecha Maintenance: Master (1098/10000)

Electric Energy Control: Master (2485/10000)

The experience for Mecha Pilot and Mecha Maintenance mostly came from the Mutants, while he had grinded Electric Energy Control himself, with some help from the Tiger-faced King.

These three Skills had already reached the Master Level. Yang Bo decided to grind his Electric Energy Control all the way to Grandmaster. It would be a shame to waste such a perfect opportunity. Plus, he still had a pile of Miniature Hydrogen Bombs lying around; he could dismantle them and toss them into the subterranean river.

He also had a newly added Skill: Fire Energy Control: Master (8450/10000).

And there was Gravity Control: Intermediate (32/100).

Yang Bo was really looking forward to seeing how this ability performed. At the very least, he could now wield his opponent’s Bone Hammer. It was just a bit too bizarre-looking; if only he could change its appearance.

"The Charge Skill increases physique. I wonder if Iron Bull knows the locations of those Three-pronged Bulls?" he thought, glancing at the few Mecha batteries he had left behind to recharge himself. "Three-pronged Bull" was the name Yang Bo had given them, as their horns looked just like tridents with three prongs.

Yang Bo took out a stick and started drawing on the ground. He then waved Iron Bull over to take a look. Iron Bull glanced at the drawing and nodded.

Overjoyed, Yang Bo quickly sketched what looked like a human outpost base. Iron Bull nodded again, and Iron Bull’s brother nodded as well.

Yang Bo pointed in different directions to verify. He realized the one Iron Bull knew of was likely Base 16, whereas the one Iron Bull’s brother pointed to was in a completely different direction.

Feeling confident, he prepared to head to the other base to score a batch of Energy Pillars.

Yang Bo told Iron Bull to wait for him there, then piloted his Mecha and entered the Underworld.

In the Underworld, Yang Bo had no idea why the Mutants who had been Tracking him earlier hadn’t followed him here. Was it because this was the Iron Bull Race’s territory?

He also knew his Mecha might attract attention, but so what? He could always just stow the Mecha, pop his Invisibility, and slip away whenever he wanted.

He arrived at an underground lake where there were traces of electric eels. He dismantled the Miniature Hydrogen Bombs into fragments and tossed them into the water.

After finding another subterranean river filled with electric eels, he put his Mecha away and followed the riverbank to search.

Yang Bo discovered that Mutant Tribes also needed water. Black Blade’s tribe and the Tiger-faced King’s tribe both lived not far from water sources.

To practice his abilities, he definitely had to fight Mutants. In the Underworld, Mutants fought constantly, both between tribes and against wild beasts.

"First, I’ll find lone targets for practice," he strategized.

"Second, if I can’t win, I’ll hop into the Mecha and run." Yang Bo had naturally thought this through. With a Mecha and Invisibility at his disposal, he was fully covered.

While Yang Bo was wandering the Underworld searching for easy targets to practice on, somewhere on the Green Demon Star, a one-eyed man and a bald man were arguing fiercely.

"One-Eyed, you motherf***er, ***, *****!" the bald man, clad in Battle Armor, cursed while pointing at the one-eyed man.

One-Eyed and Baldy were the Captains of two Sea Wolf Class Pirate Battleships. Behind each of them stood a large mob of Pirates, all wearing various types of Battle Armor.

The location they were in was a blend of the modern and the ancient. While there were advanced machines, the walls were made of rough rock.

One-Eyed refused to back down. "Baldy, you f***ing ***! Do you think I wanted this? How was I supposed to know a King Kong Class main Fleet would suddenly pop out? And what’s the deal with the Planet Fleet’s King Kong Class anyway? Why was it hiding?"

Both men turned their gazes to a third man. This man, who looked just like an ordinary human, listened to their complaints and met their stares. "We are also quite perplexed by this. You two don’t seriously think our Ash Organization would provide faulty intelligence, do you?"
