Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Migration Begins
BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP BEEP!
The mecha emitted an urgent alarm. Yang Bo simply turned it off.
A group of Mutants—at least dozens of them—surrounded him. These guys were equipped with Energy Weapons and Energy Armor. They stood over two meters tall, but their faces looked somewhat like gorillas.
Yang Bo didn’t dare to move. The radar repeatedly warned him that these guys were extremely dangerous. Extremely dangerous. Extremely dangerous.
Their Energy Weapons could slice through his mecha like a hot knife through butter.
A man wearing golden Energy Armor approached from a distance. Yang Bo wondered why the man’s face looked a bit like a tiger’s.
The surrounding Mutants respectfully shouted something. Yang Bo guessed it was their unique language.
"Calamity, nice to meet you," the Mutant in Golden Armor said just as Yang Bo was wondering how these people would deal with him. This guy was nearly three meters tall. Although he didn’t carry an Energy Weapon, his pair of golden gloves was particularly conspicuous.
"You speak the interstellar language?" Hearing the other party speak, Yang Bo quickly typed and sent a voice message. He was a Sound Wave Superpower User, so of course, he wouldn’t use his real voice.
Yang Bo was using the voice module of the Justice Gang’s Gang Leader. He snickered inwardly.
"Haha, why wouldn’t I? We are interstellar citizens too." The Tiger-faced King looked at the eight-meter-tall third-generation mecha. In his eyes, it was just a pile of junk.
Yang Bo continued typing, "You’re not going to kill me?"
"It’s just a broken mecha. Haha, forget it, let’s not dwell on that. I’ll send someone to take you back to the surface right away." The Tiger-faced King really wanted to say that they weren’t playing a game, but he swallowed his words. This Calamity was quite useful.
Besides, the Tiger-faced King found Yang Bo very interesting. Yang Bo wasn’t physically there either; destroying the mecha would just leave a pile of scrap. It wasn’t worth dirtying his own hands. It would be better to let this guy go back out and continue wreaking havoc on his neighbors.
This time, another one of his neighbors had suffered. Every time this guy appeared, his neighbors were the ones who took the hit.
"Uh, why?" Yang Bo continued typing his question.
"No reason. I just feel like it. Hahaha! King Kong, take this guy out." The Tiger-faced King felt extremely pleased at the thought of his neighbor going hungry again, losing their mine, and suffering casualties.
It turned out that the Underworld was also divided into territories. These Mutants would raise many creatures, such as Cave Lizards. Why could the Cave Lizards reproduce so much without any natural predators in the food chain?
It was because the predators had been wiped out by the Mutants. Every once in a while, the Mutants would use special methods to summon these Cave Lizards to a specific location to serve as food reserves.
They would clear out a large area at once, usually harvesting a batch every year or so. The Tiger-faced King was already preparing to make his move. Under the Mutant Tribe system, internal chaos would break out the moment a tribe ran out of food.
A massive man, two and a half meters tall and holding two long machetes, pointed his blade in a certain direction.
Yang Bo was dumbfounded, confused, and utterly bewildered. What... what was going on?
"Calamity?" Yang Bo was puzzled, wondering why they had called him that and why they had let him go.
Half an hour later, Yang Bo looked up at the sunlight, then back at the cave behind him. He was at a loss for words.
"Bird Slayer Brother is back."
"Bird Slayer Brother is back."
"Holy crap!" Yang Bo cursed as he piloted the mecha back to the base. His heart bled at the repair costs, while the forums completely exploded.
Both the Justice Gang and the Bird Slaying Gang gritted their teeth in hatred toward Yang Bo. Why didn’t he just die? Why didn’t he just die...
Yang Bo checked the forums first to see if the Justice Gang had been screwed over.
"Damn," Yang Bo muttered. He watched the most exciting highlight reel, which was less than ten minutes long. It showed everything from his escape to the Justice Gang encountering the Mutants, killing over a dozen of them, and then getting their own mechas blown up by the Mutants in return.
The majority of the people on the forum were just there for the drama, making comments like, "Give us more streams like this," "This is so fun to watch," "It’s a masterpiece," and "The Mutants are so badass."
Yang Bo thought, "Tsk, tsk. These are the same guys I lured over at the lake last time. The Justice Gang lost almost half their forces then, and now they’ve been completely wiped out. Hahaha, everything went exactly as planned." In a cheerful mood, he logged off the game.
He silently recited his Skills in his mind, and his eyes lit up. There were two major changes.
Disguise: Grandmaster (Obtain the biological sample of the disguise target. It will be biologically indistinguishable from the real one, but the target’s memories and abilities cannot be replicated).
"Hahaha!" Yang Bo almost burst into wild laughter. This meant that as long as he obtained someone’s biological sample, he could transform into them—becoming them on a genetic level—although he couldn’t copy their memories and abilities.
Yang Bo thought, "Then if it’s a woman’s biological sample... bleh, disgusting."
Continuing to check, he found a newly added Skill: Biological Summoning: Advanced (162/1000).
Yang Bo thought, "I already have three Grandmaster Skills: Swimming, Sound Wave Control, and Disguise.
"The future is looking bright."
Yang Bo plugged himself in to recharge. He had to charge slowly now; otherwise, he was afraid the batteries would spontaneously combust.
Yang Bo thought, "I need to get some Homogeneous Energy Stones. With those, I can travel anywhere. I wonder how Homogeneous Energy Stones are made?"
Yang Bo went out for a stroll, preparing to take another look at this planet. Every day, there were traces of Lasers falling from the sky here.
In fact, many Superpower Users didn’t register with the government because it was a voluntary process. Additionally, while welfare residents like Yang Bo used to be required to undergo regular medical checkups, normal residents weren’t forced to do so.
"Huh?" Yang Bo noticed a feather on the ground and wondered if it could be a biological sample.
However, this was a public area. Yang Bo felt a bit apprehensive and ultimately decided against picking it up.
After returning home, Yang Bo went online to browse through accessories, mainly looking to see if there were any made of animal materials. Then, he slapped his forehead, wondering if the meat he had bought would count.
"What a pity." After getting the meat, Yang Bo tested it, but there was no reaction. He couldn’t use it for Disguise.
What Yang Bo didn’t know was that all commercially available meat was processed. The cells had no vitality whatsoever, making cloning impossible even with the most advanced technology.
Yang Bo didn’t log into the game right away. Instead, he first set up a game password so that he could retrieve his game data once he arrived at a new location. His main concern was his inventory of Hydrogen Bombs and Shock Wave Bombs; otherwise, he wouldn’t have bothered with this at all.
For the rest of his time, Yang Bo focused on training his Metal Control, mainly working on manipulating Energy Metal to change its shape and mastering the techniques.
Finally, the time to leave arrived. The fat boss personally came to Yang Bo’s house and handled the dorm’s handover process while he was at it.
"This many people?" Yang Bo was surprised to discover that the fat boss actually had dozens of subordinates. Including their families, the group totaled five to six hundred people. One guy even had three wives... And this was supposed to be a civilized society!
"Yang Bo, residents travel in these Energy Protection Pods. Let’s head to the airport first," the fat boss said. Contrary to expectations, he had actually chartered an aerospace transport plane. Everyone had a seat, and each seat was completely enclosed by a transparent shield—an Energy Protection Pod.
After the person next to him sat down, his head was covered by a transparent Helmet, and then a blue liquid emerged from the outside, completely enveloping him.
Once Yang Bo sat down, a transparent Helmet appeared over him, and his body was enveloped in a warm liquid. Yang Bo found out that he could watch movies on this transparent Helmet and even adjust the temperature of the Energy Protection fluid.
Yang Bo thought, "No wonder we had to change into special clothes to board the transport." Using voice commands, he set the Helmet to display the view outside the transport plane.
