Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Abnormal Power
Yang Bo put on the Energy Armor. It wasn’t easy to come by. Generally speaking, a Genetic Evolver’s combat Energy Armor was the most easily damaged equipment. The destruction rate of Evolvers’ Battle Armors was the highest because, during combat, whether attacked by Mechas or other weapons, the armor always took the first hit. The chances of an Energy Weapon surviving were much higher.
With a mere thought, the Energy Armor adhered tightly to his body. With it, he no longer needed to wear a Gravity Suit or similar gear to move freely aboard the spaceship.
Yang Bo controlled the Energy Armor to change its appearance, making it look exactly like the Battle Armors worn by the pirates outside. Combined with the transformed shape of his Energy Weapon, he looked exactly like another pirate.
It wasn’t that Yang Bo hadn’t considered taking action against these pirates, but they had dozens of Mechas and dozens of men. What could he do?
These guys were professionals; their strength was definitely not low. Yang Bo himself possessed two super Skills: Disguise and Invisibility. However, if these two Skills were exposed and the news leaked, everyone on the spaceship would probably be inspected one by one and might end up locked away somewhere.
Yang Bo absolutely would not reveal these two Skills. He had just turned back to deal with that maintenance worker purely out of fear of exposing his Disguise Skill. If these two Skills were exposed, he would have no choice but to become an interstellar wanderer.
Besides, with so many passengers, there were bound to be some formidable figures among them, not to mention the person controlling the Rift. They surely had their own foolproof plans and wouldn’t just make empty promises while leaving so many people in danger. Moreover, to put it bluntly, even if all these people died, it had little to do with him. Protecting himself was the primary objective.
At worst, he would be captured by the pirates and taken to their Warship, and he could figure out a way out from there. Having a Mecha of his own meant survival would be quite easy.
Looking at the abundance of Energy Weapons inside the container, Yang Bo’s mind stirred.
"Quick! Just ahead! There are over a thousand Energy Weapons inside, along with Energy Armors! These are all good items!"
"The boss is really something. Instead of going after the good stuff in the containers first, he went for the hostages. They’re hard to transport and aren’t even worth that much." Just then, the sound of voices drifted over.
"Damn it!" Yang Bo cursed inwardly. He was truly speechless. He felt like he was a magnet for disaster. How did he keep running into these situations? He had only lingered here for a brief moment, yet he was already bumping into pirates again.
"Oh no, someone beat us to it!" After an exclamation of surprise, a person wearing silver Battle Armor appeared at the door of the container. This person’s Energy Armor was clearly more Advanced than the other pirates’.
Behind the silver Battle Armor followed three others. It was impossible to see what any of the four looked like, as the Energy Armors wrapped them tightly.
"There’s a piece of Battle Armor missing!" the person in the silver Battle Armor said after taking a closer look.
"Number Three, it’s just one piece of Energy Armor. It doesn’t matter. Let’s move this stuff out first."
"Yeah, Number Three! These things are incredibly valuable. Even on the black market, they can sell for over a million each."
"Come on, Number Three! Let’s do it. If the boss doesn’t like it, we’ll just do it ourselves."
"Exactly! We’ll pack these Energy Weapons up and launch them out in an escape pod. Our brothers outside will definitely intercept the pod, and then we can just split the money."
Hiding in the corner, Yang Bo listened to their conversation and realized that these guys were here behind the Pirate Leader’s back to make some extra cash. Hearing that these Energy Weapons only sold for a million each on the black market left him speechless. He had bought his for ten million.
But there was nothing he could do. Sanmu Recycling Company supposedly had a military background; otherwise, how could they collect so many Energy Weapons? Every time a battlefield needed clearing, this company was always the first to arrive.
"Be careful. If someone took a piece of Energy Armor, then someone definitely has an Energy Weapon. I told the boss we should just leave and drop this job, but he insisted on capturing people!" the person in the silver Battle Armor said.
"Number Three, the boss’s worries are justified. Those guys from the Anti-Government Forces are unreasonable. Honestly, we shouldn’t even be doing business with them. Doing business with the large consortia over on the Alliance side is much better. Even though the prices are lower here, we wouldn’t have to deal with all this crap." The three followers began moving the Energy Weapons, placing them into a specialized container.
The person in the silver Battle Armor shook his head. "The boss definitely has his reasons. Let’s just get to work for now. There’s also someone using a Rift on this ship, so everyone be careful."
"Number Three, I feel like the guy using the Rift isn’t that strong. If he truly had the power of a Planet Guardian, we would have been slaughtered by now!" another person said while grabbing Energy Weapons.
"The Rift is great and all, but it has a lot of usage restrictions. First, it requires a lot of hardware conditions. On a planet with the support of communication systems, it’s naturally not a problem. But on this transport ship, the conditions for using the Rift are limited. More importantly, it depends on the user themselves. The effects of a Rank C Evolver using a Rift compared to a Rank A Evolver are completely different!"
"Number Three, I wonder if the Mecha docking with the Warship outside will be successful? If it is, we’ll be able to move a lot of stuff. Using escape pods is too much of a hassle."
"It should be fine, considering the boss is the one doing it!"
Hidden in the corner, Yang Bo’s heart skipped a beat when he heard this. Once the Warship docked with this spaceship, they would be in massive trouble. There would undoubtedly be an endless stream of pirates pouring in from the Warship.
"Son of a b*tch!" Yang Bo cursed inwardly.
The three moved quickly. The more than a thousand Energy Weapons and the Energy Armors inside the container were all packed into individual crates. However, because the machinery couldn’t operate automatically, they had to manually control two machines to transport the dozens of crates.
It wasn’t that Yang Bo didn’t intend to strike, but the guy in the silver Battle Armor was constantly keeping a vigilant eye on his surroundings. His armor was also faintly glowing with a fluorescent light—this was its charging state, proving that the man was remaining on high alert.
Although Yang Bo could launch an attack from his Invisibility state, if even one of the four managed to escape, the news that he could turn invisible would definitely be leaked!
Yang Bo retreated into the maintenance tunnel once more. Now that he had the armor, he directly controlled the Energy Armor to negate any Gravity response. In a state of weightlessness within the tunnel, he simply propelled himself straight up.
Arriving at the exit of the transport ship, Yang Bo took a deep breath. He had come here to conduct a very important experiment.
He entered the airlock and closed the door to the maintenance tunnel behind him. Then, Yang Bo activated his Skin Metalization.
Taking a deep breath, he gently opened the outer hatch.
"Haha!" A few seconds later, Yang Bo almost burst into laughter. The airlock was now practically a vacuum environment, but he didn’t feel the slightest bit of discomfort. Suffocation was non-existent!
In fact, Yang Bo had suspected this for a while. After his Skin Metalization, he couldn’t exactly be considered a true human anymore. Therefore, as long as he had Energy in his body, he could absolutely survive in a vacuum.
"There’s still one more important experiment!" Yang Bo took a deep breath.
