Chapter 2236: Falling Star City Teleportation Hub
Following behind the branch sect master, Su Han soon arrived at the recently installed teleportation formation at the core of the branch sect and following the guidance of the elder, he stepped into the teleportation formation. Feeling space around him starting to twist gently as an invisible force enveloped the two of them. Shuttling them through a well-established spatial passage the next second, as less than a second later, Su Han found himself standing inside Falling Star City- or more accurately, a teleportation hub within the Falling Star City that was used most often used by disciples or elders leaving the main sect to visit family or meet a few friends inside the city.
The teleportation hub itself had not existed in the past in the way Su Han saw it, with countless people constantly moving in and out of different teleportation formations lined up neatly beside one another, as the spatial environment was in a constant state of movement with people coming and going.
In fact, the Falling Star City Teleportation Hub had only been expanded to its current size after the demand for travel surpassed even that of the main sect to become the most travelled to place through the sect’s teleportation network.
Of course, to ensure no accidents happened with two people emerging at the same teleportation formation at the same time, when no teleportation formation was available, the people arriving would generally end up lingering around in the void outside in a temporary holding space that existed along every teleportation formation under the Star Shattering Sect. Only, this holding space generally wasn’t a place most would perceive and would only ever feel in the sense that the journey took a few seconds longer than normal to complete.
Su Han on the other hand could clearly sense just how many people were lingering around in the void centered on the teleportation hub and for this reason, he also quickly got out of the way. Knowing it would be rude to block the path for those waiting in line-
Whoosh~
And indeed, the second he left the area covered by the teleportation formation together with his guide, space twisted slightly before a group of four disciples appeared behind him.
Truly, as expected of an ancient hidden sect...
It wasn’t that the strength of these young disciples was anything impressive in the eyes of Su Han nor was it that he had never seen any large-scale teleportation hub like this. Instead, it was the fact that he could sense the spatial attainments of the one who had laid down the spatial infrastructure of this place far surpassed anything he had encountered before. The ability to make people linger in the void waiting for an empty teleportation formation was something far more difficult to accomplish than it looked on the surface and like Su Han had expected, there was indeed someone incredibly skilled in the Dao of Space behind this, as Xuan Hao had personally laid down this spatial infrastructure after a request from the sect’s formation masters.
The reason being that normal teleportation formations would require one to make sure there was no one on the other side before activating the teleportation formation- or one might collide with one another when you went through the same spatial passage at the same time.
Sure, the teleportation network of the sect still worked, but after Xuan Hao personally intervened and laid out a far more complex spatial network that could adapt and allow several people to move along the same spatial channels following his comprehension of the Dao of Space reaching the Origin Realm, the quality of the Star Shattering Sect’s teleportation network increased with it no longer being limited to a certain number of disciples or elders.
One unintended consequence was that the quantity of spiritual qi consumed to keep the teleportation network functioning increased drastically with the overall complexity of the network and number of people using it increasing.
But... With the current spiritual qi present within the Shattered Star Peaks, it hadn’t yet reached a level that affected the cultivation environment. The only visible change in the eyes of the elders and disciples was that the space around the teleportation formation network within the Seventh Star Peak was almost completely devoid of spiritual qi.
Not that there wasn’t any solution in case it ended up becoming a problem in the future, as it should also be possible to make some adjustments to the teleportation formations so they would require one to sacrifice a bit of their spiritual qi when using them, a function that Su Han was familiar with, as it was the normal way an internal teleportation network on this scale functioned. Cultivators who used it depositing a bit of their own spiritual qi. helping alleviate the strain on their faction for keeping such a thing running.
Amazement at the teleportation network aside, Su Han found himself following the branch sect master out of the Falling Star City teleportation Hub before moving towards the spot on the Ninth Star Peak that Feng Chen had a short meeting with the delegation from the Myriad Treasure Hall in the past.
Although he could have taken things to the same place inside the Star Shattering Sect, given that the other party was an unfamiliar monk comparable to someone in the Star Creation Realm and his only interaction with the other party had been hostile, he had no intention of allowing the other party to enter the Shattered Star Peaks for no reason.
The only reason why he even decided to meet the other party in the first place was because he didn’t want to enter an all-out war with monks from the Western Central Region if possible.
Not to mention, while he hadn’t met the other party under good circumstances in the past, he could clearly sense that the other party hadn’t shown up with any hostile intentions. If he had, it would have been simple enough for him to force a small branch sect master under the Star Shattering Sect to give him the information he wanted before heading towards the Shattered Star Peaks on his own.
If anything, the fact that he had been respectful even towards a junior at the Domain Lord Realm showed that the other party was serious about remaining peaceful with the Star Shattering Sect.
Although... This also made Xuan Hao immensely curious as to why this senior monk had decided to travel all the way to the Star Shattering Sect. After all, different from him, who had been able to easily get back to the Star Shattering Sect with the winged lion demon beast in tow using the spatial passage connected to the border between the sect and the Frozen Wastelands, this senior monk would have to travel on foot- or rather through air.
Even if the other person had reached a level comparable to the Star Creation Realm, given the distance between where the mystic realm entrance had emerged and the Star Shattering Sect, he would still have to travel for two weeks straight to reach the Star Shattering Sect’s borders...
"You may leave." And as the branch sect master made his way to the small, isolated pavilion on the side of the Ninth Star Peak, Xuan Hao motioned for him to leave while his gaze travelled towards the senior monk that had been following behind him. "Greetings, I don’t think we had the chance to get to know each other during our last little encounter."
"Indeed, this humble monk is Su Han, I apologize for the earlier misunderstanding and hope the layman doesn’t take it to heart. In the moment, this old monk misunderstood and thought the layman was someone from one of those cults in the Southern Central Region." Following behind Xuan Hao’s words that seemed to be making light of the brief hostile clash between them, Su Han smiled awkwardly before responding.
Swish~
"A little gift as a show of sincerity." Pulling out a small wooden box after he finished speaking before sitting it down on the table in front of Xuan Hao. Gently pushing it towards him in the process as he sat down in front of him while waiting for him to accept it.
"..."
Knowing that this was a gesture of good will and at the same time also a way to make him understand that the earlier hostility was just a misunderstanding on his part, Xuan Hao saw no reason to not accept this gift and gently picked up the box and opened it.
Finding a small lotus flower inside whose gentle spiritual fluctuations made it clear just how valuable this spiritual flower was.
"Thank you, I shall humbly accept this gift." Closing the wooden box after inspecting it before sweeping it up into his interspatial ring. Showing Su Han that he accepted this apology gift. Signaling that there was no bad blood between them after the strained earlier confrontation that was the first official meeting between someone from the Star Shattering Sect and the Western Central Region’s temples.
At least in the eyes of the Western Central Region...
