Chapter 434: Aberration

Chapter 434: Chapter 434: Aberration

Di Polok reacted with incredible speed, raising the Spear of the Dead in his hands to block!

CLANG!

Sparks flew.

The two were instantly locked in a stalemate.

Just then, Chen Hong, piloting the Hunter, attacked from behind at extreme speed. He raised his Light Blade and thrust it at Di Polok’s back.

"Die!"

Di Polok sensed the danger and was just about to react.

"Argh!"

Long Ming desperately unleashed his Power, pinning Di Polok down.

CRUNCH!

The particle Light Blade in Chen Hong’s hand plunged deep into Di Polok’s back.

"AGH!"

Enraged, Di Polok swatted Long Ming aside with his spear.

Chen Hong hastily pulled out his Light Blade and retreated.

Furious, Di Polok spun around and charged at Chen Hong, thrusting his spear straight at him.

Chen Hong’s expression faltered as he raised his Light Blade to block.

CLANG!

Their weapons collided, sending beam particles flying.

Chen Hong felt a terrifying Power wash over him. At the same time, a black mist billowed into his face, and his mind reeled.

The next second, the Spear of the Dead shattered the Light Blade’s containment field and pierced straight through Chen Hong’s right shoulder.

"AAAAH!"

Chen Hong let out a bloodcurdling scream.

"Not good!"

Seeing this, Long Ming charged forward.

Di Polok saw Long Ming coming and kicked Chen Hong away.

Antilo swooped down low and caught Chen Hong.

He discovered that Chen Hong had passed out and his vital signs were plummeting.

He immediately checked Chen Hong’s wound and saw it was rapidly decaying. His mind had also been corrupted.

That Spear of the Dead was enchanted with corrosive and mind-corrupting effects.

"Damn it!"

Antilo took two life-support syrettes—one red and one black—from his wristband, inserted them into the injection port on Chen Hong’s arm, and administered the contents.

Even so, it only stabilized him. Whether he would live or not depended on how tough he was.

Just then, a gasping Hopka struggled to his feet and looked over.

He saw Long Ming and Di Polok locked in a fierce battle.

"Dammit, I’m going to kill you!"

Thinking of Woperi’s death, Hopka took a rare amethyst from his wristband and used it to replace the Energy Crystal in his Mechanical God.

Then he gave a direct command to his Mechanical God.

"Limiters released! Full power! Raaagh!"

Instantly, lightning erupted from Hopka’s entire body, wildly destroying everything around him.

Di Polok sensed the danger as well and whipped his head around to face Hopka.

"Die! Divine Thunder Rush!"

Hopka leaped into the air like a descending god of thunder, raising his Giant Hammer—crackling with arcs of lightning—and smashed it down.

Di Polok violently swung the Spear of the Dead to knock Long Ming away, then immediately snapped it back to block!

BOOM!

Hopka’s hammer slammed into the Spear of the Dead.

RUMBLE—

The ground beneath Di Polok’s feet shattered as terrifying lightning instantly consumed everything in the vicinity.

Having been knocked aside, Long Ming watched the scene unfold, his heart pounding in his chest.

’So powerful!’

When the lightning faded, Di Polok was scorched black from head to toe, having barely managed to endure the blow.

But in the next second, a long, slender bone spike shot out, piercing through Di Polok’s back and bursting out of his chest.

"Argh!"

Di Polok cried out in pain and violently swung his spear, sending Hopka flying.

Long Ming then yanked on the bone spike, flinging Di Polok through the air.

THUD—

Di Polok crashed heavily against a stone pillar.

Long Ming’s eyes narrowed. He charged forward at incredible speed, raising his blade to slash down at Di Polok, who was just getting to his feet.

Di Polok raised his Spear of the Dead and thrust it at Long Ming.

Long Ming twisted his body, narrowly avoiding a fatal blow.

CRUNCH—

The Spear of the Dead instantly pierced Long Ming’s left shoulder.

The blade slashed diagonally across Di Polok’s neck.

Both cried out in pain.

’It’s over!’

Seeing this, Antilo’s face drained of color. Chen Hong had nearly died from a blow by that spear; now that Long Ming was hit, he was surely done for.

But then, something happened that no one expected.

Long Ming suddenly let out a monstrous roar. A terrifying, blood-red aura erupted from him as crimson tendrils shot out from his back and wrapped around Di Polok’s body.

"Do you think this will work?"

Di Polok said to Long Ming in a cold voice.

"We’ll see about that! Hopka!"

Long Ming yelled.

Just then, Hopka unleashed a burst of mental energy. Piloting his mecha, the ’Jailbreaker,’ he vanished in an Instant Flash and reappeared above Di Polok, raising the Giant Hammer—crackling with lightning—and bringing it down with all his might.

"Thunderous Smite!"

CRASH—

The Giant Hammer smashed viciously down onto the blade.

CRACK!

Driven by the blow, the blade sliced diagonally through Di Polok, cutting him in two.

"This..."

Di Polok’s face was a mask of disbelief as his upper body slowly slumped to the ground.

Long Ming walked up to Di Polok.

"You lose."

"Haha, I knew I wasn’t wrong. You’re the host I’ve been looking for."

"So what? You’re about to die."

"Haha! I can’t be killed!"

After Di Polok said this,

his entire body shattered into countless black particles that scattered and then burrowed into the ground.

Startled, Long Ming scanned his surroundings, on high alert.

RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE—

The entire ground began to shake violently. Cracks spiderwebbed across the temple’s remaining pillars and walls.

"Not good! This place is coming down!"

Antilo shouted, his face paling.

"Run!"

Hopka immediately activated his jet wings and shot toward Long Ming.

Seeing this, Long Ming decisively stored the Spear of the Dead in a secure case.

Hopka grabbed Long Ming and flew toward the exit.

Antilo also rushed out, carrying the unconscious Chen Hong.

As they burst out of the temple and into the underground ruins, they saw that the cavern ceiling was also collapsing, raining down countless rocks.

"Faster! The whole thing is coming down!"

Long Ming yelled at Hopka.

"Shut up! I’m already going as fast as I can!"

Hopka accelerated wildly, blasting his way out.

Even though they were all in fourth-generation Mechanical Gods, there was no guarantee they would make it out alive if they were buried here. It was simply too deep.

Fortunately, they managed to fly out of the cavern and shoot through the fissure into the sky just before it collapsed.

"Phew, that was close."

Long Ming breathed a sigh of relief.

"Look at the ground!"

Antilo shouted, his face a mask of horror.

Long Ming and Hopka both looked down at the ground.

They saw black particles continuously rising from the dark red ground.

"This is bad. We need to leave, now!"

Long Ming said, his expression tightening.

He suddenly understood the source of his ominous premonition.

"Back to the Azure Blue!"

Hopka flew toward the Azure Blue, carrying Long Ming.

"Contact Fakadon and see if the ship is repaired! We can’t stay here!"

Long Ming urged.

"Got it! Fakadon, can you hear me?"

Hopka called out repeatedly.

"I hear you, Captain! What’s happening to the planet? Why is there a sudden earthquake?"

Fakadon asked nervously.

"Is the ship repaired?"

"It’s done!"

"Quick, get the ship in the air! We have to get out of here now!"

Hopka said, overjoyed.

"What about you?"

Fakadon asked hastily.

"We’re almost there!"

Hopka told him.

"Understood!"

With that, Fakadon cut the comms.
