Chapter 2088: Battle Aftermath -Part 1
There were a few severe causalities from the Rifle Mages to the point they were near the death's doorstep. However, a lot of the Rifle Mages had prioritised the rescuing of these Rifle Mages for the Pandarian Medics that were in the Bamboo Fortress. They were under strict orders to survive and no one was supposed to die.
If one were to incur injuries to save another, they were so called 'programmed' to do so. This was because as long as they did not die, Jin was able to save them in some way or another. With the power of improvised smithing, their King was able to create prosthetics at an alarming rate which were not only useful but it felt natural enough that they felt they had their hands back too. Discover hidden stories at
Apparently, their Lesser Jewels of Odin were helping to synchronise with the prosthetics that it did not bother with their daily day to day. In fact, with this as the second battle, those who lost their arms or legs in the previous battle actually became even more reckless. They used their prosthetics without care and some were imbued with lots of magic that it became a weapon itself.
There was even creative use of the prosthetics where the Rifle Mages had stored additional bullets in it and used it as an additional storage 'rack'. And with the advent of storage gems which was a technological magic advancement through Jin's improvised smithing factory production, it became a 'literal' side arm where it stored the Rifle Mages' weapons.
From grenades to newly created magic blast launchers, the Rifle Mages who had been equipped with such prosthetics were truly considered veteran soldiers who could do more than the average soldier could do.
However, those were only applicable to people who had lost their legs and arms. Those who were severely injured and lost their internal organs were of a different story. Mechanical parts were running through their bodies as if they were some biomechanical organisms. King Jin had given them the choice of either retiring or being stuffed with Mana Engines that were similar to the Lesser Jewels of Odin.
Many had opted for the latter mainly due to the fact that Jin had promised them several things as they continued such as more pay, promotion, and the chance to cheat death once more. Perhaps it was Kraft's psychological lessons but everyone who was given such a choice had wanted to serve the king once more.
Jin had no idea they were these passionate but it seemed as if they found that they had found a purpose in life by serving their king. So those who lost livers and stomaches had their organs replaced with the very same functions while acting as mana engines for their bodies too. It was to the point where they were acting as Mana Emitters for the team and their comrades appreciated their presence.
Those who lost their lungs were given stronger lungs where they could absorb Mana much more easily compared to other people because of their ability to breathe and convert magic just by exchanging oxygen and carbon dioxide.
Erm…there were two who lost their…real jewels because they were hit in the pelvic regions and Jin chuckled when he bestowed them their replacements. Apparently, rumours said that they were not able to contribute much in terms of combat but future reports later in the years stated that the babies they produced were considered to be those who could rival the Grand Sage in terms of natural talent.
And lastly, the final who had its brain blasted off was quickly saved by Gara, where he was able to cast stasis and allowed Jin to repair before the stasis spell wore off. His functions were akin to a super soldier where the amount of shots he dished out were equivalent to a squad's firepower and he remained to be a superstar within his own platoon.
However, for the Pandarians, it was a different story. As much as the Rifle Mages were ordered to priortise safety, the Pandarians were risking their lives to fight in the frontlines along with the living bamboo panda statues and the death count was rather high. Elder Bai could not do anything much compared to Jin but those who were 'save-able', Jin had offered them the same option to them.
Captain Hei and the others were against it but Elder Bai was different. He requested the group to allow Jin to perform those prosthetics experiments and to see if they could live with it. Not many came around until the Rifle Mages who had those prosthetics showed the Pandarians that they were pretty much in the same condition as them until Jin appeared to give them this blessing.
Thus, some of the Pandarians had decided to give it a try with Elder Bai's permission. The only request they had was that Jin do not use any metal parts at all. Instead, they wished to be one with the Bamboo. "Heh, I am okay with it but just do not bite them off when you are feeling hungry." Jin teased and the Pandarians chuckled back.
However, to their surprise, when Jin performed the prothestic attachment for them using Bamboo, they do not have the texture and hardness of bamboo. They also did not feel much pain when the attachment begun. In fact, the Bamboo prosthetic was able to grow fur and claws as if the Pandarians were able to grow back their arms and legs.
And since Jin was still around, one of them was even such a fool, a brave fool to bite his newly grown bamboo arm to have a taste of it. Jin was shocked that they would even be this stupid to try such a thing and surprisingly, it did work!
Jin was even more astonished when the prosthetic even grew back to its original size, fitting the Pandarians' original paw size. It was to the point Jin even wondered if these Pandarians were truly Pandas or they were Bamboo-born.
