Chapter 2089: Battle Aftermath - Part 2
Just as the remaining Rifle Mages were sweeping up the remnants of the Dune Shell Orcs, a batch finally returned to the Bamboo Fortress.
Most if not all of them had used Jin's emergency mana booster as a method to return to the Bamboo Fortress to rest. Obviously, there were no additional beds for them to lie on and they had decided to hang out in one of the restaurants that the village had as a checkpoint for them to let go of all the fatigue they had accumulated in the past battle.
That was where King Jin had asked about their status as well as how they were feeling after pushing their own limits to the next level. Most of them were barely able to talk and they lay on the tables with their mouth slightly open just to pick up the food that the Pandarians prepared. Only as they had some form of 'intake' that they were finally able to converse a little with Jin.
The reason why they decided to come back first was not only because the battle had been won but to bring back those who were injured from the insane battlefield. And their injuries were not of the physical form as the use of forbidden magic had enabled them to recover anything that was flesh related.
Most of it was psychological damage and what they requested was just a quicker withdrawal from the battlefield so they could recover the insanity damage they accumulated.
But the most important thing of all was to report that Kraft was 'missing'.
Jin furrowed his eyebrows from that report and obviously asked for more details only to find out that Kraft had dabbled into the depths and fusion of the three major branches of forbidden magic, allowing him to create a monster that was of unimaginable strength. As the Star Foxes had quoted Kraft, "This masterpiece is something even I cannot control all by myself if you guys are around here." Continue reading on
"Does that mean he personally decided to take charge of confronting this masterpiece himself?" Jin queried and the Star Foxes who returned from the battlefield nodded their heads in unison.
"He opened up some sort of portal or black hole. We could not tell the difference at that point in time but it was apparently, the black hole was not for the enemies. Instead, it was used to lure and drag the monster he dubbed as 'No Mercy' into it."
"The rest of the Star Foxes are still working their assess off to clear the remaining Dune Shell Orcs as well as the Elite Hell Orcs. That was why we are able to return first," The Star Fox said as he laid back and placed a towel on his face, to rub away the dried blood on him.
"To be honest, we were expecting reinforcements but it was not until one of the Rifle Mages came to inform each and every one of us that you guys are occupied with the very same kind of horde in the north that we had to work doubly hard."
"I see, No worries about the use of Forbidden Magic. To me, I see it as an act of survival. Just do not use it unless it is necessary." Jin comforted the Star Foxes he met. "I will get the Commando Mages to move into the Southern region as soon as possible, once they have managed to replenish their ammunition."
The Star Foxes felt relieved that their efforts were not in vain for returning earlier based on their Star Fox Team Leaders' advice and begged Jin to assist as quickly as he could. The Commando Mages when given the order, did not hesitate to perform the task to aid the southern region after hearing that they had survived.
Apparently, most if not all of the Commando Mages felt that the Star Foxes had already sacrificed themselves to keep the southern horde at bay but the moment they heard that their counterparts were still alive and breathing, they went for a quick refill before rushing down south based on the coordinates that the returned Star Foxes had given.
But despite all of those, Jin was actually more concerned with Kraft even though he believed that the Devil Fox was more capable than any being combined possible.
The fact that he and a few dozen Star Foxes were able to hold down an entire horde of Dune Shell Orcs all by themselves showed that the Star Foxes were of calibre to fight against his Moon and Sun Foxes even though they did not have the kind of magical capacity similar to them.
What they lacked had been compensated with their 'forbidden' magics which excelled brilliantly during war times when the body counts were immense. Blood, Necromancy, and this world's version of Spirit Magic had shown that they were excellent monsters in their own right.
And above them all was Kraft who had managed to grasp that concept well to create a monster of his own that the Star Foxes claimed he could not control.
It does bring some suspicion on whether this was entirely true or whether it was some theatric act from Kraft. Only time could tell once he returned from the 'black hole' but Jin believed that all he needed to do was to keep this dungeon open until he returned.
And that was not a bad idea itself considering how Jin had been experimenting with the conditions of dungeon outbreak rather extensively with the previous dungeons that he had created previously.
If he was not wrong, even though the Pandarians were only left with double digits survivors, Jin believed that the condition of the dungeon outbreak could still be fulfilled with time. After all, they were still considered to be monsters from the System and they would no doubt continue to respawn at a drastic rate.
Since Jin did not have any Orcs to bring back home, then he took the next alternative. To bring back lots of Panda Warriors courtesy of the Dungeon Outbreak rule that the System had placed.
