Chapter 4630: The Paragon Magical Beast Clans
Barakiel held the King-Tier White Auspicious Tiger’s head in his palm as he pressed down, the edge of his claws lightly sinking into the fur.
The latter was like a kitten, frozen in place from both disbelief and suppression.
The White Auspicious Tiger momentarily couldn’t understand what was happening. A human’s languid voice echoed, but a dragon appeared and took him away, causing his mind to reel. His eyes slowly reflected the scene before him as he saw a purple-robed man appear, his countenance calm and gentle while he rubbed his hands as though itching to go through his rings.
He abruptly came out of his reverie and growled, "Human! What are you-"
He had only spoken a bit and tried to grow in size in order to intimidate when the threat of death hung as his head was constricted and nearly crushed under the force of a dragon’s claws. The roar of a tiger turned into a whimper as he became limp, not daring to make a sound anymore.
The aura of the King-Tier Five-Clawed Imperial Dragon reverberated in the marketplace, stunning and suppressing numerous souls. Everyone felt out of breath. Even Flamerose and Frostrose were affected, turning breathless under the immense pressure.
Isabella, Shirley, and Fairy Thunderblaze remained unaffected, but Tia had it hard. She hugged Isabella to resist the incredible dragon’s might. As for Dewzai, she stood behind Shirley, trembling ever so lightly.
Rhazor Tigerius, who was about to intervene, froze like a statue. The others weren’t faring any better.
Barakiel raised his head and turned to look back, "Do not move if you want your lives."
His wide dragon eyes and firm voice commanded absolute obedience from the crowd.
"Not bad..." Davis nodded at Barakiel, whom he had tamed in the past few days.
He had sent his soul body to communicate with Barakiel, who was trapped in the life ring, drained of blood, and butchered to gain more meat.
At first, Barakiel refused to submit even though he was terribly afraid of Davis. After all, Davis’s unforeseen and terrifying Will had broken his own Will in an instant. To a dragon, that was like their Achilles heel. They couldn’t stand up after it was severed and thoroughly suppressed. It was very difficult to go against someone who had mentally defeated their Will.
It was even bad for Barakiel since Davis had broken him while he had used his Mandate Laws while using his utmost power. The backlash was heavy.
Barakiel had plenty of days to recover, but still, the scar was there. It had been implanted and couldn’t be overcome easily.
Hence, he was still afraid of Davis and whimpered at him to not take his flesh or torture his soul anymore, as he promised to give more blood essence and even soul essence.
Then Davis gave him one thing- after the stick was the carrot. He had given his word to make Barakiel an Emperor-Tier Beast. It was not an empty promise, nor did he need to take Barakiel back and increase his tier with Everlight’s powers since Isabella had found a Primarch Grade resource that resonates with the King-Tier Five-Clawed Imperial Dragon.
When Davis displayed it to Barakiel, the latter was thoroughly enticed.
Still, Davis didn’t force it.
Barakiel knew he would be tortured and eventually killed if this routine continued, so after a few days of consideration and reflection, he submitted to the Divine Emperor of Death for a period of three hundred years and agreed to give blood essence and soul essence to Celestia. The pride in him refused to take the Divine Emperor of Death as his master, but he was willing to call the Divine Emperor of Death his lord and benefactor.
Davis didn’t care as long as he could employ Barakiel in his forces. This dragon in front of him was sufficiently important and cool enough to be his steed, much less join his forces when he was sufficiently powerful to take on a supreme genius whose prowess was thirteen levels higher. After all, the suppression effect on all lives was real and truly oppressive.
Moreover, he didn’t want to release this dragon anywhere since Celestia also carried his blood.
Although he didn’t think Barakiel would use his own blood to target Celestia, he couldn’t put it past the others to take advantage.
And unlike the humans who were thoroughly indoctrinated to kill Divergents, the beasts rarely cared. To them, Divergents were just another form of meat- tasty and good for luck. Barakiel had little or no animosity toward their family, other than looking down on humans as a whole. To the dragon, survival was more important.
Barakiel ticked all the boxes, so Davis let him in.
"You don’t seem to want to trade?" Davis returned his gaze and looked at the young tiger noble, "It’s fine if you don’t want to. You have the freedom to do so. But I hear the Exalted Tiger Galaxy is at war with the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy. I wonder what would happen if you were to suddenly disappear. Will the aggression become more pronounced, or will they fall back and demand that the humans return you? Would your life be worth that much?"
The young tiger noble trembled, barely revealing his fangs in an attempt to display bravery, but couldn’t as his mouth involuntarily shut. The pressure of a dragon and a strange human who appeared to have control over nearly everything left him feeling that he might die today if he answered wrongly.
Even the other White Auspicious Tigers, who were supposed to protect him with their lives, stood frozen and didn’t dare move.
"I... I want to trade... trade...!" Finally, he answered using his utmost power.
Davis looked surprised before smiling gently again, "Great. What do you have? Isn’t the White Auspicious Tiger light-attributed? I’m sure you fancy something from these resources?"
He placed a few light-attribute resources in rows at his own pace and asked, "What do you have for exchange?"
The young tiger noble’s lips twitched.
Although he knew little about exchanging resources since he didn’t know much about comparisons and prices, he knew he was being forced to accept a loss. Was it because he was arrogant?
"I want to get help..." He visibly asked, "I want Tharion and Kyshira to aid me in exchanging resources."
"Sure."
Davis turned to look at the palanquin of the White Auspicious Tiger Clan and moved his gaze a bit to the side to see a bunch of fey dressed in a pair of upper and lower black-yellow beast skins and a fur coat over their shoulders. From their reaction, he spotted two of them who fit the name-calling and beckoned them to come over.
They quickly arrived in front of Davis as they reported their names.
"I’m Tharion from the Mountcrushing Vajra Palace."
"I’m Kyshira from the same power. We are tasked with tending to the needs of Vrawlang Xaltunar, the King-Tier White Auspicious Tiger from the Xaltunar Clan."
"So he’s from the Xaltunar Clan." Davis nodded at the young tiger noble.
It seemed that his status was extremely high, only beneath the true members of the Xaltunar Clan.
On the other hand, Barakiel didn’t introduce himself with his surname because it seemed like he had pulled something and gotten exiled. Otherwise, Davis learned he would be from a branch of the Zeragon Clan of the True Dragon Galaxy. It appeared that Barakiel couldn’t do anything about it since he was exiled by a True Dragon!
From Barakiel’s account, Davis learned that the Xaltunar Clan was the ruler of the Exalted Tiger Galaxy. In other words, possessing the name Xaltunar meant that they would be eventually nurtured by the Xaltunar Clan to become one of the most powerful Grand Ancestral Beasts so that they could eventually become a Paragon Magical Beast or remain a member of the branch clan with the highest status just below that of the true Xaltunars, who were Exalted Golden Tigers!
Exalted Golden Tigers were Paragon Magical Beasts just like the True Dragons!
They ruled a galaxy each with barely any numbers, so their might couldn’t be underestimated at all!
Even now, he failed to see any Paragon Magical Beast coming here. For one, there weren’t many, and even if they were born, he heard that they would just literally hibernate their way to the Exalt Beast Stage. Even in a Greater Realm, the density of the heaven and earth energy was simply unable to support their needs to grow. After all, he heard that a Paragon Magical Beast would quickly grow up into adulthood and enter the Exalt Beast Stage, so by the time they reach the Empyrean Beast Stage, they would already be gasping for breath.
Davis suspected that for a Paragon Magical Beast, the stages from Immortal Beast Stage to Exalt Beast Stage were just one stage for them. Otherwise, they would be able to progress smoothly. This was similar to how immortal children were considered Quasi Immortals after they were born, since from the First Stage to the Ninth Stage is just one stage of cultivation for them.
Regardless, he understood the divide between a Grand Ancestral Magical Beast and a Paragon Magical Beast was much bigger than he had expected!
