Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4633: Quite Picky

Chapter 4633: Quite Picky

Carmelia Mavigglain’s gaze turned wry, "We couldn’t bring such a blood essence here. Most of it is in Exalt Grade, and only a few are in lower grades. Those are emptied out faster since a Paragon Magical Beast will not usually donate blood until it grows up into adulthood. Since it is a waste to dilute, we value the drops at the Immortal Emperor Grade and Empyrean Grade greatly, so we didn’t bring it before we agreed on bringing Lea. Of course, as long as the trade is fair, we can give the blood essence, but if it exceeds Immortal Emperor Grade, we can only do it outside the secret realm."

"Understandable." Davis nodded and chuckled, "Truthfully, your efforts so far have been in vain since Lea has entered the Empyrean Stage, so she couldn’t be brought here."

"I see. That’s..."

Carmelia Mavigglain blinked, unsure if it was something to be pitied or rejoiced since it was a good thing Fairy Lea grew, but was unable to come here.

Davis had ways to bring Lea here since Everlight could make her regress, but he didn’t say that.

While a portion of the Davis Family was to hunt for treasures, the other portion was to get near the peak of the Empyrean Stage as soon as possible in an effort to break into the Exalt Stage as soon as they ascend!

Illumina was just the beginning. There would soon be more and more Exalts appearing in the Davis Family, strengthening their security and ensuring their survivability!

"That’s good for the entirety of the phoenix race. The stronger she becomes, the better the blessing can be utilized later on, or so I heard."

"I see." Davis nodded.

It was in line with what he had been thinking. There were some powers or phenomena that grew along with the user or victim. For example, the pact he created with the Celestial Transcendent grew along with him, so unless he exceeded the Celestial Transcendent’s true strength, he wouldn’t be able to break it ordinarily.

Fortunately, he had already devised a way to break it, and he was confident, so he was pretty much carrying it as luggage at this point in his mind.

The World Spirit Phoenix Blessing was one such karmic blessing. He knew it would grow along with Lea from the moment he heard about it.

However, Carmelia Mavigglain was not speaking fully. He could tell that she was hiding more information regarding the World Spirit Phoenix Blessing. He wanted to find out whether it was bad for Lea even if it didn’t give any benefits, but on second thought, if it was bad, why would they want it so badly?

He struck out that it could be something bad.

Davis raised his head, licked his lips, and said, "Mythical."

"..."

Carmelia Mavigglain went silent.

However, Davis could feel the tumultuous emotions churning inside her heart, even though she kept a blank expression; not that he was an expert at reading a bird’s face, but he had seen Freya, Nyoran, and Soaren a lot in their avian form to know better.

Birds were truly not the species to hide their emotions, as they would easily gawk.

But as a phoenix, Carmelia Mavigglain possessed much more control over her emotions, yet still, she couldn’t escape Davis’s senses.

"Is that the only use for it?" With a languid smile, he probed deeper.

Carmelia Mavigglain realized that the Divine Emperor of Death knew more than he let on. She honestly didn’t know where he was getting the information from someone who was being pursued by Heaven’s Warriors. Although she didn’t know of his feats in the Lower Realms in another galaxy, she did hear that he had suppressed all in his realm.

In the Lower Realms, that was basically a feat allowing one to claim victory and reign supreme. She knew that was how the human race actually developed themselves in the era long back before they made their move to the Upper Realms. Otherwise, such a weak race like them would’ve been squashed underneath a Grand Ancestral Magical Beast, much less a Paragon Magical Beast.

Carmelia Mavigglain reined in her breathing and sent the Divine Emperor of Death a soul transmission.

"All I know is that a ritual needs to be conducted in one of our ancestral altars to succeed in using the World Spirit Phoenix Blessing. As for using that blessing to allow a beast to enter Mythical-Tier, I suspect that it is the case. The ancestors didn’t inform me of everything, but in my opinion, only Mythical-Tier will make them harp to this degree."

Davis listened curiously and remained silent for a few seconds.

Deciphering one’s emotions in a soul transmission using Heart Intent was much easier since it carried their thoughts, tone of voice, and the emotion behind the words. Hence, he knew Carmelia Mavigglain was being truthful about her words.

And because it was so important, they even sent a failsafe like Heim Mavigglain.

The more he thought about it, the more he felt like he should finish off Heim Mavigglain to prevent any accidents. However, he could already tell Heim Mavigglain was deeply afraid of him.

Davis nodded at Carmelia Mavigglain, "Good. You can leave."

As for King-Tier Prismatic Soul Phoenix Blood, Davis didn’t ask since it was rude to ask a lady her blood at first meeting. It was rude in any meeting but he planned on asking later when he had enough cards to succeed in the endeavor.

Otherwise, Carmelia Mavigglain might run away while leaving things to her subordinates.

Besides, reverse tracking using inheritance blood was a thing, so he wanted to be careful about that. Fortunately, he tamed Barakiel.

Carmelia Mavigglain sighed inwardly before she bid farewell and left with her entourage. They didn’t use the palanquin anymore.

The humans rejoiced, but they couldn’t bring themselves to praise the Divine Emperor of Death. If someone took a projection of them using an Imagery Stone, their social life would be destroyed, and some might even use this chance to eradicate their standing or family. Although they were young, inexperienced, and prone to provocation, they were not that stupid.

They cast a renewed gaze at the Divine Emperor of Death before continuing to do their stuff.

Davis looked after the stall for a few more minutes before he left with Shirley and the others.

However, he didn’t leave the stall since he placed his soul body there.

After exchanging over ninety Primarch Grade resources for various things, he became more picky with the items the supreme geniuses offered. Unless they could bring out something that would catch his fancy, he had no intention to trade anymore.

Hence, he left his soul body there while accompanying his family.

Even if Heim Mavigglain wanted to do something, he could forget about it.
