Chapter 4634: Browsing The Marketplace
Davis walked along the pathway.
The structure of this opulent marketplace was a long-winded building extending from west to east, spanning over thirty kilometers, and with a height that could accommodate even the largest of Immortal Emperor Beasts if they were to suddenly expand into their true size. At the center, there were four block extensions, each built for a different reason, such as holding a slave pen, inscribing talismans, concocting pills, and private areas.
At the very center was where the auction was held.
It was already evening by this time.
Davis was able to see what he hadn’t checked all this time.
More beauties- shaded in all kinds of clothes, some he had never seen since most wore tribal clothes. As time passed, more and more magical beasts entered, and as such, the impure-blooded feys serving them also accompanied them, tending to look quite exotic.
However, anthropomorphic features didn’t necessarily mean impure blood.
His Evelynn still possessed six spider bones despite being a pure-blood. Some features couldn’t he gotten rid of as one climbs the cultivation stages. By the time one reached the Immortal Emperor Stage, most of the features that would be visible as a pure-blooded fey of a particular bloodline would be revealed, and by the time they reached the Empyrean Stage, it would be fully embraced by the body.
The same went for magical beasts at the Empyrean Beast Stage since they would no longer be able to mask their anthropomorphic features.
On a side note, he was looking forward to pouncing on Nadia then.
Regardless, these kinds of feys weren’t just limited to servants or slaves. There were supreme geniuses within them too.
Panning his gaze, he spotted a bat-winged, one-horned, gray-skinned woman, her expression cold yet refined as though nobility itself were etched into her bones. The violet veins that faintly pulsed under her skin exposed her bloodline, one that Davis had only read about in old records since they no longer existed in the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy. She was from a race of Starlight Night Bats, a Grand Ancestral Magical Beast race said to have dominated the skies of night.
Further along, his eyes lingered on a blue-haired beauty with serpentine pupils, clad in light blue silks that revealed scales across her shoulders and hips. Her lower body was that of a serpent. Her tail swayed behind her lazily, but her aura hinted at a dangerous venom that could silence even High-Level Empyreans if unguarded. She laughed with her companions, her voice ringing melodiously yet sharp like a dagger coated with honey.
She also seemed to have a servant who possessed a similar body, but the scales of her lower serpent body were azure, her hair was white, and her eyes were empty as though she was blind, while she wore a blue eyeshadow and had a green, poisonous tint to her lips.
Davis wondered what kind of race they were from, as he couldn’t tell.
It seemed like the ones who had gone extinct in the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy or were never present existed in the other galaxies.
His gaze lingered on them for a few seconds before his attention was caught by a petite figure.
A rabbit-eared girl with snowy fur visible around her neck and wrists. Her deep red eyes gave off a mischievous gleam as she conversed with her companions, her delicate posture contrasting with the strong aura she suppressed. Even the twitch of her ears felt alive with alertness, betraying instincts honed over countless battles.
She made him recall Aila, giving him the urge to go and want to see her.
Regardless, he kept walking and came across more beauties.
His gaze eventually landed on a figure with an imposing presence.
She carried the weight of an entire race, from what he could see in his vision. Her entire back was covered in glittering sapphire scales, each reflecting the light like tiny mirrors.
A pair of translucent fins framed her cheeks, giving her the visage of a deep-sea empress. She wore no ornaments, yet her natural body seemed more extravagant than jewels, her every step resonating with an unseen weight as if the tide itself obeyed her.
Davis nearly sighed as he recalled Jei Sealan, a genius from the Aurora Cloud Gate who was from the Sea Race. This woman in his line of sight was much more noble and powerful than him, making him wonder if she was from an imperial race within the Sea Race.
He couldn’t tell which race she was from, but she was one of the few who appeared extremely powerful as Rath or even Riaz Heavenshade.
For the Sea Race, their numbers translated into might, like they were an army of waves crashing down on the floodgates.
Davis instantly guessed that this woman would become a Divine Exalt in the future, further guessing that they might already have a Divine Art to gather strength from the race.
Nonetheless, he carried on appreciating the beauties.
He saw women with wings patterned like butterflies, some with fox tails swishing playfully, others with crystal horns sprouting from their foreheads like natural extensions of their bodies. Each bore features that, in a human sense, would seem strange, yet they were aesthetically pleasing and undeniably captivating.
Shirley and the others didn’t interfere at all with his ’exploration’.
They let him swim since he had been reserved for the past decade.
"If only Zenova were here..." Isabella shook her head with a light sigh.
"Strangle, she left after the incident..." Shirley patted Isabella, "Leave it. If things aren’t meant to be, we shouldn’t push it."
"A predator indeed..." Dewzai silently muttered under her breath as she saw Davis be unrestrained with his gaze, yet still not maintaining his stare for more than two seconds while not making any moves.
It was like he was planning which prey to hunt this night and couldn’t decide.
Suddenly, he stopped.
Everyone suddenly became curious, wondering what or who caught his eye.
However, they followed his line of sight and merely saw the ground.
Why did he lower his head?
Isabella came forward and saw that he was contemplating something.
"What’s wrong?"
Davis remained silent before he shook his head, "I felt my senses, my subconscious trigger over something, but it’s rather delayed. It should be nothing since it’s not hostile. Otherwise, I would’ve immediately jolted out of my reverie over viewing the exotic nature of yin."
He shrugged, appearing quite carefree since he was aware that he was viewing others under the vision or even the guidance of his wives.
He had their tacit approval to pick someone here.
However, Davis just wanted to enjoy the scenery that he wouldn’t see anywhere else. This was a rare congregation of supreme geniuses from all galaxies and celestial bodies. His sights were only on female feys, but his intent was on Shirley, Niera, Bylai, Aila, and Fairy Xiu Juili.
Unfortunately, he got busy with cultivation and couldn’t be intimate with Shirley. Niera was still cultivating while the other three were in other Shard Regions. Right now, there was the marketplace, which greatly benefited the family, and finally, the auction, so he could only wait.
He had already asked Shirley if she wanted to share a private room here, but her answer was that she didn’t want to do it here since it was crowded and prone to mishaps. Davis was also wary of Heim Mavigglain, Wella Vertiga, and whoever that snake and other figure was who supposedly helped him.
His only clue was his triggered subconscious, but he had seen too many people today. He could only limit the suspects to reptilian beasts and fey.
Nonetheless, he explored the marketplace, bought more goods that caught his eye, and then, by the time it was night, returned to the center and participated in the auction. At that moment, it was evident who the Mandate Laws were from as they saw the host.
It was a Grand Ancestral Magical Beast who appeared to share blood between a Five-Clawed Imperial Dragon and a Kirin.
