Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4891 Embracing A Jade

Chapter 4891  Embracing A Jade

Thinking like this, Davis couldn't help but nod.

"Certainly… what you said makes sense. Similarly, her actions also left me quite indecisive. If I harm her for the sake of revenge, it will be like harming myself since I accepted her as my woman already. Quite stupid for both of us to be caught in this contradiction, right?"

Jade Aurora nodded, "So you are both thinking of each other. Isn't that already a caring husband and wife?"

"…" Davis didn't want to admit that they were all good now.

How could he just let it go?

Jade Aurora saw that he wasn't fully convinced and beamed, "I didn't expect a situation like this to await me in your family. However, isn't this resolvable? As the husband and the Patriarch of the Davis Family, isn't it your right to punish and discipline your wives?"

"…" Davis blinked.

'Right, traditions…' Davis didn't really think the Jade Lotus Valley- all female sect would have the same rules.

Perhaps they didn't, and Jade Aurora was adhering to the norm of the patriarchal nature of most powers since she was marrying out, marrying to him. He felt the need to make it clear.

"The Davis Family doesn't have such a rule. Even if one is compelled to do so, it wouldn't be right until the wife goes too far, like a hysterical or mad ghost wraith for no reason. In any case, it isn't a written rule and would differ with each individual in how they shape their spouses. Regardless, do you know how I like to treat my women- like they're a harmless flower who needs to be watered and looked after. Hmm, if I make an example out of Zenova, there will come a day when the other wives will fear me. I don't think I want that."

"I wouldn't want it either." Jade Aurora added with a pout, "But she has committed a crime against you. I think all of us will support you even if you were to give her the harshest punishment. Am I wrong?"

Davis wryly smiled as he shook his head, "You're not wrong. Unfortunately, I never look for short-term gains. I am trying to see a future where Zenova and I can be in love and a future where she does not resort to imposing her Will on the others using ridiculous schemes, but at this rate, I'm just fooling myself when I can't get rid of this hate without harming her. I'm really a vengeful person at heart. There is a time and place for everything, but she chose the wrong moment to seduce me. An eye for an eye is what I seek yet- sigh."

Davis walked ahead towards the sea, his legs sinking into the sea, before he turned around and reached out his hand.

"What? Already disappointed to have such an indecisive husband?"

"No~"

Jade Aurora's eyes glimmered at the rays of dawn shining over his figure, making his sapphire eyes appear rather mystical. She walked towards him, sinking into the sea halfway before she grasped his hand.

"You're a man of deep inquisitive thoughts, and I already know of your understanding nature, which is what got me all the way here. More than anything, I can see you're doing your best to forgive her. I'm more reassured of my choice to be with you because I know I will be safe in your embrace."

"…"

Davis's gaze shook.

He pulled her into an embrace, and his arms tightened ever so slightly around hers.

The sea was calm, its surface reflecting the pale hues of dawn- reflecting lavender, gold, and a quiet blue that seemed to breathe with them. The water reached their waists now, cool but gentle, carrying away the weight that lingered in his chest.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Jade Aurora stepped closer, the distance between them dissolving as naturally as mist under sunlight. Her free hand rose, resting against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm which was strong, conflicted, alive.

"You don't need to have all the answers right now," she said softly. "Just don't deny what you feel. As long as you remain true to your heart, I think we will all follow you because that's what made us fall for you."

Davis exhaled, a long breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. His gaze softened as he remained fixed on hers, the turbulence in his sapphire eyes easing into something serene.

The waves lapped against them, rocking them closer, until their foreheads touched. The world seemed to narrow to the warmth of their bodies.

Davis leaned down, and Jade Aura lifted her chin.

Their lips met in a lingering kiss before they grew more reassured of themselves. The sea embraced them, cool against warm skin, as if sealing the moment within itself.

"Ohhh! They're going at it…!"

From a distance, Nyoran cheered.

Vereina and Ivy Aries blinked. They felt Davis was too bold to be doing this here.

Qiyra Darkstar and the others were practically waiting for him. They were speechless.

Davis and Jade Aurora exchanged their emotions through their lips.

When they finally parted, neither stepped away as they smiled deeply, his one of assurance and hers one of shyness.

The waves tried to draw them in, but they floated in place. He moved his hand, stroking her cheek.

"Valley Master is so mature. It is indeed my mistake not to pursue you way earlier when I spotted you at that cave."

Davis switched to flirting, causing Jade Aurora to feel her heart flutter.

"That's not true…"

"That's not entirely false. Way too many things happened that I was actively avoiding our union."

"Why?"

"It's related to fate. I can't speak of it."

Jade Aurora nearly pouted, "If you say so…"

Davis chuckled, placing a light kiss on her cheek, "Silly, when we get stronger, I mean, way stronger, I'll let you know. Until then, it isn't something you should chance upon."

"Mhm…"

Jade Aurora folded easily as she lowered her gaze. His firm voice that became gentle was really unbearably dangerous to a maiden's heart.
