Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4896 Invincible Within The Upper Realm Space?

Chapter 4896  Invincible Within The Upper Realm Space?

"Do you all understand?" Leader Arnoxin continued with a firm voice, "The Divine Emperor of Death might really change the landscape of how we fight the Heaven's Warriors. For now, we need to protect him as he grows in strength. Once he reaches our level, we'd be nearly invincible in our hideouts and could ascend to the Greater Realms to further our cultivation. His presence is required to further our gains and goals."

"Aren't we already invincible here?" The Second Dark Apostle's eyes flickered, "Our First Dark Apostle here already fought two Venerable Knights and killed one, which turned out to be Venerable Knight Damien, no?"

"What!?"

"Really!?"

Halbren and Hallen went dumbfounded, and then they saw even the Divine Emperor of Death was aware of it, as his expression didn't change.

"Hmph!" Leader Arnoxin suddenly harrumphed, causing the inner chamber to tremble and ripples of spatial storm to spread as he gazed at the Second Dark Apostle, "Don't even remind me about it. Invincible? Instead of retreating when the time is right, she got injured in an attempt to take down Venerable Knight Damien. Even though she succeeded- ugh, she's always like this- going too far. She's crazy."

He seemed furious as he cast a look at his wife, causing her to avoid eye contact with him.

"I don't understand."

Davis finally decided to voice his doubt after hearing this incredulous matter. He gazed at the First Dark Apostle.

"You were facing two Venerable Knights at the layer limit, but chose to face them instead of retreating? Even if you're extremely strong, why would you go so far for a newcomer?"

"Isn't that obvious?" The First Dark Apostle sounded like she grinned widely behind her faceless mask, "Your actions and achievements allowed the two of us to see that Divergents can also bond intimately. Until then, we were wretched souls who feared each other, not allowing us to get closer, even though we grew fond of each other. So, in the last decade, we got married thanks to you, so this is merely repayment."

"…"

Davis looked dumbfounded.

How many Divergents decided to release the arrow of love because they got inspired by him?

He had just made Laphria Rinmei and Jaiyan get together, and even before that, Kronos Alistair was also inspired by him to have his own family. He was really changing the fates of Divergents out there heavily, so much so that they started teaming up intimately and bringing greater power.

If what she was saying was true, then it was no wonder they were favoring him this steadily.

The First Dark Apostle glanced at the second.

"I used husband's blood-soul essence to strengthen the technique that killed Venerable Knight Damien, so it wasn't my power alone that killed him. You would do well to learn that."

"…" The Second Dark Apostle looked grim.

It seemed like these two had grown way more powerful after dual cultivating and trusting each other with their blood-soul essences. The previous aspiration of killing Leader Arnoxin and taking his place was nowhere to be seen.

He remembered the First Dark Apostle always being crazy. She was a menace and survived by herself even before the Heavenly Blight Hall existed, so even after the leader recruited her, she had always been trying to kill him, while the leader accepted the challenges with grace and amusement.

The leader never said no to a challenge. He had also fought the leader many times but failed to kill him.

Regardless, he didn't expect this from the First Dark Apostle, as he felt like she had the most chances to replace him. However, it turned out there was an entire love story behind them that he didn't know when he expected her to take him down using seducing methods like the crazy woman she is after they got married.

They all shared a common goal, which was to eliminate Heaven's Warriors, but they were their own individual. Now, it didn't seem like it was the case.

"I gave my precious blood-soul essence to protect you. Not waste it on some Venerable Knight."

Leader Arnoxin harrumphed at the First Dark Apostle, causing her to go silent as she lowered her head.

He let out a breath and addressed the Second Dark Apostle.

"We're not invincible. Venerable Knights and even the Elder Venerable Knights in the Greater Realm aren't a problem, but I'm talking about the Celestial Transcendent. He's a true War God. When he descends with his true body, we will all die if we are found except me. What's the use of the Heavenly Blight Hall then? What's the use of working together?"

He panned his gaze, a cold glimmer emanating from his eyes, "I'd rather disband right now."

He paused, letting his words settle into the hearts of the Dark Apostles before he continued.

"Fortunately, he left to meet with the True Dragon Monarch of the True Dragon Galaxy. I agreed to make a move for our Fifth Dark Apostle only after knowing this matter. If he had been in the Greater Realm, it would've spelled disaster for at least one of us, and by this time, another one would've been eliminated. Do you think there weren't any Divergents who were more powerful than us in history? In terms of prowess, perhaps not, but they were certainly more powerful in terms of cultivation and still got eliminated. If you keep looking down on the Celestial Transcendent just because he uses a peaceful or mild approach, you will turn into mincemeat in seconds."

"…"

Davis once again felt that the Heavenly Blight Hall's intelligence network was truly amazing. As for estimating the Celestial Transcendent's capability in the Upper Realms, there was no surprise there. Instead, he even felt some vindication that a powerful Anarchic Divergent had the same opinion as him.

If he were to compare with some old tales from his old planet, the Celestial Transcendent was truly the Heavenly Emperor of the Human Race, striking fear into the hearts of every evil and righteous individual.

The Dark Apostles seemed to recollect some fear of him finally, while Davis remained calm.

"Any idea when the Celestial Transcendent will return?" He asked a question.

Leader Arnoxin considered for a moment before opening his mouth, "The trip back to the Greater Realm will take him five years, but if he's fast, he might be able to shorten it to three years."

"Three years? Not much time left to have fun… yet again…"

Davis knew he was going to be fast because of the incident with Zhao Yan's return and his second daughter's awakening. Even though he would've already met his second daughter and spoken to her with his avatar, he knew he would go there first instead of visiting the Divergents for a slaughter, but that wouldn't be a big delay.

Hence, he was now pondering on whether to tell the Heavenly Blight Hall about this matter- that he had the perfect hostage to delay the impending destruction further, or risk complete destruction by angering the Celestial Transcendent into a wrathful deity.

But he didn't want to give this leverage to the Heavenly Blight Hall, as he wanted to do this by himself through Jiayi Crystalveil, which could be considered tame and much more safe.

After all, the Heavenly Blight Hall was known to kill family members of Heaven's Warriors, so if the Celestial Transcendent learned that the son-in-law was with them, he might not even care and entirely conclude the matter by killing them all and dealing with his second daughter through another method.

Davis knew one had to be incredibly ruthless if they were going to rule an entire galaxy when it's time for them to step on their foes. He saw no reason the Celestial Transcendent would be any different.
