Chapter 4899 The Fifth Dark Apostle
Leader Arnoxin raised his hand as he gestured at Davis.
"With all being said, let us welcome the Fifth Dark Apostle. Our current missions are to protect him as he grows and to assassinate a few famous Heaven's Warriors to send our message. Fifth Dark Apostle, you will also participate in the assassinations. Your first target will be Venerable Warrior Rosavelt, who is somewhere in the Forgeheart Peak Upper Realm. Our subordinates will inform you of her whereabouts later. Assassinate her, and you will be fully inducted into our Heavenly Blight Hall."
"Got it." Davis answered perfunctorily.
He didn't know who Venerable Warrior Rosavelt was or her cultivation, but he intended to hunt any Heaven's Warrior who came across him since it was going to be an all-out war soon.
Davis cupped his hands, "It's not much, but I have prepared two Peak-Level Primarch Grade resources and eight High-Level Primarch Grade resources of varying nature to gift for the help I have been given. I'll give a location later, so please send someone to pick it up."
"Oh? Were you that rich? It seems like the trip to that secret realm was really fruitful." Leader Arnoxin commented with faint amusement.
He sounded satisfied since Peak-Level Primarch Grade resources could still help him improve somewhat as a powerful Omega Exalt.
"You can say that."
Davis's lips curled before he turned to look at the First Dark Apostle with his hands still clasped.
"I won't forget the welcome gift. Helping me escape and eliminating one Venerable Knight is more than enough to persuade me to join the Heavenly Blight Hall with a favorable attitude. I won't say much, but the Heavenly Blight Hall can count on me to do certain things in the future that will be favorable for us."
"Big words, but I do fervently hope you can back it up." The First Dark Apostle nodded, "Otherwise, I wouldn't have gone to such lengths just for inspiring me."
Davis returned the nod and continued to ask about many things about the Heavenly Blight Hall.
Their headquarters, their hideouts, their contact methods, and many more.
Although he hadn't been officially induced yet because he had yet to fulfill his first assassination mission, the five of them were receptive except the Second Dark Apostle, but Davis didn't care. The Second Dark Apostle was more or less dead in his eyes unless the other party was willing to change before the time of death approaches for him.
They revealed many hideouts and some locations that could be more or less used as fortresses.
Davis also revealed the area and the general direction of his new settlement, but didn't give then exact location. He also made it clear that he didn't like any assassins near his family for obvious reasons, to which the others had no comment because it was more or less a rule, but they had no way of enforcing it until the family members were already assassinated, so they let Davis say it explicitly to remind someone again.
The person in question just faintly smiled, not really giving their word, making a few others sigh.
Soon, the meeting within this mysterious space came to a closure.
"Oh, leader, this token I have- I can erase its location tracking ability, right?"
"Sure, go ahead." Leader Arnoxin didn't hesitate to answer, "It won't affect the other features of the token since I carved the runes separately, but don't expect me or the others to come and save you when you release an emergency transmission, since you're only making it difficult for me to come save you quickly."
"That's not a problem. I won't wish for leader to be disturbed again. It's my turn to return the favor, but I still need to grow, so I can only trouble fellow apostles and leader to wait for me."
"Good." Leader Arnoxin nodded, "I eagerly await your growth. Hopefully, you can prove to me that my decision to aid you was the right one."
"With this, our meeting has come to an end."
Leader Arnoxin flicked his sleeves, and the dark region around them began to engulf them all. When they came to it, they were already back at where they were, their bodies still in the same place, and merely four seconds had passed in the real world.
"You were spacing out. Do you have something on your mind?" Qiyra Darkstar asked him.
'The replica in Leader Arnoxin's possession is indeed extraordinary. Fairy Qiyra didn't realize my consciousness, whether it is soul body, or astral body, was in another space all this time.'
Davis thought before giving the Heavenly Blight Hall's token to her. It carried the title [Fifth Dark Apostle].
"I'll depend on you to erase its location tracking rune."
Qiyra Darkstar grasped it and saw that it was a black medallion. It had a golden imprint of a picture- blight filling the cloudy skies. It was so ominous, but it seems like Davis decided to join them while also guarding against them.
"I hope you know what you're doing." She quietly warned him through physical soul transmission when their hands met.
Davis didn't release the token, pausing slightly before his eyes squinted.
"I know… Abyss Night Demoness- oh, was that Astral Night Demoness instead?"
Qiyra Darkstar's eyes slowly widened as she stared at him, her entire demeanor suddenly changing.
"Do you want to say that I'm not that different from the Heavenly Blight Hall? You can think anything you want, but if you dare say anything about it to master-"
"Not really." Davis interrupted her, "I'm sure you have your reasons to earn that infamous title, no matter how small or irrelevant it may be. I'm now aware of the specifics, nor do I intend to look through it, but your master will never forsake you. At least, I can tell that she's not that hard-headed anymore after our incident. You should've heard about it, no?"
He looked disinterested before he shrugged, walking away to the grotto.
Qiyra Darkstar looked at his back with a complicated gaze, thinking he really does speak his mind. She did know about their incident as their master confessed that she had wronged him, but how could it compare with harming a single person against harming hundreds of millions of people, no matter the reason?
If it were her master back in the day, she might've ended her for it, and she still thought that way, but the Divine Emperor of Death was saying otherwise.
Davis was halfway to the grotto, and the others followed him when he sensed a projectile heading his way.
He turned around and caught it, only to see it was his Fifth Dark Apostle token. It felt hot to the touch but didn't seem broken otherwise.
"You're done already? Incredible."
Davis praised Qiyra Darkstar in the distance before shelving it into his spatial ring. He looked into his life ring and saw Zhao Yan still sleeping from all the sedatives and sleeping pills he had fed him before looking forward.
"Zenova, oh Zenova, your husband has returned… so why haven't you come out to welcome me yet? Are you that scared to confirm the truth of the lie?"
Davis's lips curled into the finest face of a villain as he muttered, his heart churning with passion and hate.
