Chapter 4898 Forcing It Out?
Davis went silent.
However, his soul was screaming out, 'Insane…! From when was he envisioning targeting the heavens? It's ridiculous…! We haven't even got past the Celestial Transcendent and the other seven ardent ruling defenders of the galaxies, yet the leader wants to target the heavens!? Insane!'
Davis couldn't help but see this organization in a new light, or at least its head.
The head didn't seem to be just surviving but passively working towards a goal- a goal that might break the foundations of the universe. To get the heavens to forcefully admit them as naturalized entities was going to cost many things, not just the heavens but also the universe. Davis didn't think they could succeed at all, but he didn't see why they shouldn't try doing this either.
"I shall 'see' the heavens…" Davis uttered with a vague tone before chuckling lightly.
"Hmm, the plan itself is not bad, but I'm not agreeable to using Calypsea as a weapon or a pawn in this endeavor. She is like my family's child carrying my name, Calypsea Davis, so we have always taught her manners and go against her destructive impulses so that she could function as a normal spirit."
Davis knew that Calypsea would jump at the prospect of eating an Upper Realm Core and destroying an Upper Realm in the process casually, but he didn't want her carrying heat from the Heaven's Warriors for no reason. They might prioritize targeting her instead of him.
If it were just destruction, even he was capable of it. Any Realm Calamity was capable of it, although it would take a long time to destroy a realm compared to destroying a core.
"A spirit that goes against its instincts ain't normal." The Second Dark Apostle sneered, "You're the oppressor to suppress such a spirit."
"Yes," Davis turned to gaze at him, "A bad child needs to be disciplined. Perhaps you needed to be disciplined, too."
"…" The Second Dark Apostle grinned threateningly.
Davis didn't continue with him and returned his gaze to the leader.
"Leader Arnoxin, instead of erasing Upper Realms, why not conquer them?"
"Unfortunately, even if we can conquer it, we can't hold- wait…" Leader Arnoxin narrowed his brows, "You mean putting our own True Deity in the realm?"
"Exactly." Davis nodded and spread his hands, gesturing proudly, "My family has so many non-Divergents whom I've nurtured to be extremely powerful. When they reach the layer limit in the future, I'll be sure to make them become Realm Masters if we're going to pursue this plan. We'll start by trying to hold one realm. Then, like the Sky Word Emperor and the other human heroes who slowly conquered their way up in this galaxy, we'll repeat the same process."
"Indeed, conquering might be better, but the heavens won't realize the consequences unless it loses its footing. The forty-eight Lower Realms, sixteen Upper Realms, and one Greater Realms times eight form the eight Galaxies - they're all one huge natural universal formation. The First Haven World Master's cultivation manual was most likely based on this natural world diagram, if I'm not wrong, so if this natural formation were to collapse as we destroy each node or realm in a galaxy, we should be able to force the heavens out."
"…"
The Dark Apostles were amazed that there was such a thing, seeing their leader in a new light.
Davis was stunned to see that Leader Arnoxin was able to realize the World Master's cultivation aspect. He couldn't help but ask.
"Leader, have you met the World Master before?"
"Yes, quite a few times. She has even saved me twice, so I owe her. A pity I was unable to repay her."
"… Who is that woman?" The First Dark Apostle's eyes narrowed.
"Uh…" Leader Arnoxin sounded speechless, "Just another Anarchic Divergent whom I respect. Speaking of which, I presume you're the inheritor of her world. Since you said you will repay us, I might need her corpse to strengthen myself. Regardless of how I respect her, I deem it a necessity. Can you gift this resource to me?"
Davis's brows twitched, "That wouldn't be possible."
"Oh? Can I ask why?"
"Because I see her as my master," Davis said, but he lied, not wanting to say he intended to revive her.
He didn't know what plans Leader Arnoxin had for her, so he might stop him from doing it.
"Heh! Do you even intend to repay us?" The Second Dark Apostle sneered, "Leader Arnoxin even faced the Celestial Transcendent's avatar and the Venerable Hollow Knight at once. Both are dangerous heaven's servants who can strike lethally and ignore attacks in their own way. You should be grateful that the leader was able to stop them, or else, you certainly would've been dead."
Davis frowned. He didn't think Leader Arnoxin managed to stop two of them. That was really overpowered.
However, he didn't change his thoughts. He sneered back.
"Even if I agree, I don't have access to her world. It's simply the truth. We'll just have to wait for her world to reopen, and then we can race to her corpse and see who obtains it first to do whatever they want."
Davis chuckled with confidence.
Even if he didn't act due to his low cultivation, Saintess Lunaria and her disciples would surely act to protect the World Master's corpse and legacy. After all, Saintess Lunaria was a kind and gentle soul. Whether she acknowledged the other party as her mother or not, she would certainly protect her corpse from being used.
Four against nine. The nine disciples were already Alpha Exalts and above. He knew which side would win.
"You still-"
The Second Dark Apostle retorted when Leader Arnoxin raised his hand, interrupting him.
"Sounds good. We are not a group of brothers and sisters but a group of bandits and assassins. We work towards a common goal, but if it infringes on your personal goal, you can put your foot over the theirs and stop them, and if you can't see eye to eye, might as well kill them."
"Agreed." The Second Dark Apostle snickered.
"I have no problem with that." Davis smirked, "It's better this way so that when I deal with someone later, they can't cry about it."
Leader Arnoxin looked at the two of them, glaring at each other, and shook his head.
'A clash of ideals. I knew it would come to this…'
He opened his mouth, "Remember, it's not advisable to kill each other and ruin our common goal in the end. If your personal vendetta ruins an official mission, then I won't sit still."
His voice rose an octave, warning them of the consequences.
"Understood." Davis still coldly chuckled at the Second Dark Apostle.
He had no qualms about striking down someone who was already known to be evil, plus having been rude to his wife. He had tried to look past it just now because the Second Dark Apostle more or less aided him in his escape, but if he were to repeatedly try to combat him and put him down, then he had no choice.
"Understood." The Second Dark Apostle enunciated in the same way, his gaze full of killing intent.
He felt that for a junior, the Divine Emperor of Death was too arrogant!
Just because he had backers, he could strut off?
