Chapter 4512: Leakage
She stopped, and the bubble disappeared. "We will have to fly for a few hours," said Dynvar, and we flew.
There is a minor spatial distance; it could be barely sensed, but the primes couldn’t fly through it. Silver Prime could, but not Primes.
It is one of the things I am researching. I want to find a way to travel through minor spatial disturbances with the power I have.
It is only an afternoon, the sun shining beautifully on the turquoise sea, with islands.
Most of the islands are empty, but many have cities on them. The big beaches where people are lounging, enjoying themselves, alone or with their loved ones.
A few more hours passed, and I noticed something. Immediately, I increased my speed.
The question appeared on their faces, but they didn’t ask, and soon, the answer appeared on their faces.
Soon, it didn’t take long for us to reach the island that is being attacked by thousands of monsters of Sky Sovereigns and below.
The defenders are defending, but looking at the number of monsters and the ones that are coming. They won’t be able to hold for long.
The monsters aren’t behaving normally; they are enraged, and this isn’t natural behavior.
Yes, they attack the islands, but not this way. I could clearly sense the influence of corruption on them. That is making them behave as such.
"We had sent a lot of Sovereigns and Primes to the islands, but they could barely hold against the monsters," said Dynvar with a sigh.
The next moment, thousands of shining lances appeared in the sky and came out at the monsters.
They pierce through them without resistance. Not only those who are attacking, but also those who are coming to join the attack.
We didn’t stop even for a moment and moved forward.
In the next two hours, we have dealt with monsters attacking multiple cities, and there are more. The cities are spread across, and we only come across those that are on our way.
It was near evening when I saw the change in the ocean—gone the turquoise water. Now, it is grey, filled with corruption.
I had been sensing for a while, but it is time; it has become visible as this.
"There had been leakages before, but never one as strong as this one," said Prime Syvar.
"Have you tried temporary measures?" I asked, and the old woman nodded. "Yes, but the corruption is too powerful; even vast powers of Primes couldn’t contain it," she replied.
I could sense the Prime; they are trying to deal with the corruption of the powerful artifacts, but it seemed to barely affect the corruption.
"It is," I replied.
We moved ahead, and the closer we got. The powerful corruption would become.
Finally, the sun began to set, and the stars began to light up when we reached our destination, where corruption was releasing a thick, dark smoke from the water.
Powerful enough that no one below the primes would survive it.
Even the weaker primes would have a hard time surviving it. It was just the leakage, I couldn’t imagine the level of corruption inside the vestige would be.
"Best of luck, my granddaughter, Prime Arys," said Prime Syvar.
She is not coming, which is good. The corruption is very powerful outside. Inside, it would be even more; the Prime of her power would not be able to bear it.
"Let’s go," said Dynvar, and we flew toward the sea through the gaseous clouds.
A few seconds later, we breached the water and began to go down. It is pitch black, filled with powerful corruption.
I would have collected it, but I know a better quality is waiting for me inside the vestige.
I need a large amount of corruption; many plants require it, and also for my research. It had been a while since I had brought.
I usually don’t need to; people I kill usually have it in their storage.
Currently, I have enough of Prime-level corruption, but it is not the most powerful one. Reading the information, I know I will get that kind of here.
Seconds passed, and we went deeper and deeper, where corruption got even more powerful.
"It had been a few months, but the monsters had gotten used to it," I said. Looking at monsters swimming around us. There are a lot of them. Not just monsters, but also the plants.
"Most of them are born here in corruption. There is always a leak, but it remained manageable until it somehow began leaking the corruption from the deepest part," she replied.
I nodded and captured a few monsters. She looked at me, but didn’t say anything.
These monsters will be useful for research.
There are a lot of Prime monsters here, and many of them are powerful, but not a single one was able to sense us. They would need to be really powerful to sense us through the stealth.
My clones have already started my stealth and inheritance energy to fight the corruption better from the moment I got a sample of this flavor.
My stealth and defenses can handle the powerful corruption; I am just aligning them to guard against this flavor.
Minutes passed, then another, before we finally reached the floor of the sea. The place from which the corruption is leaking through.
There is a massive stone gate in front of me. White as bones, with beautiful golden motifs drawn on it.
Whoever did the job was quite an artist.
I looked at it only for a moment before turning to the leak. It is coming from the cracks in the beautiful white gate. There are cracks all over it, sending massive corruption out.
"The gate does not look in great shape," I said. Not just visual, but also through its formation.
"It is the main reason we have come here." She replied. "The leaking is weakening the gate; if it collapses, it will spill out everything, and that will be terrible for us."
Beyond terrible, actually, as it will spread into a large part of the territory her organization controls.
That is not something they want to see.
