Chapter 4513: Barilis

Chapter 4513: Barilis

"Stepping through it would be dangerous. So, I would understand if I stayed behind here," she said, and I could see there would be no judgment.

It is a simple matter of risk, and it is great in this place. Still, I could see hope in her eyes.

She wants me to come with her. "Since I have come, I might as well go all the way with you to Barilis Vestige," I replied, looking at the gate in front of me.

"Thank you, Prime Arys. We will not forget the favor," she said.

I wanted to say, I am not doing it for her organization, but she might interpret it differently. So, I smiled and turned to the gate in front of us.

She walked toward the gate and took out a large bone key with red veins.

She gently inserted it inside before twisting it. Immediately, the doors dissolved, and a black swirl was produced. She looked at me before stepping into it.

A moment later, I stepped through it.

There was a darkness for a couple of seconds before I appeared in a large place.

A Grand Plaza to be exact, with buildings all around me. Most of them are broken and writhing in corruption. It is everywhere; it has seeped into the very fabric of this place.

It is fully dark, the only light I could see around me is the light of the broken formations.

Those lights would sometimes shine on the skeletons. Making the whole atmosphere scary.

"What in the world had happened here?" I asked. "The best we could guess was that the cultists here were doing something with powerful corruption, and things went out of hand," she replied.

They don’t truly know what happened here. They have found this place when it started to leak, over five hundred years ago, and since that incident, very few have visited this place.

She took out a map, looked at it, before moving. I followed a step behind her.

This place is extremely dangerous. It would be better if we remained on our toes every second.

We moved, avoiding the broken formations and skeletons. Looking at bodies, it seemed like. Most people living in this place had died; they barely got any chances to escape.

The corruption had been extremely powerful. Golden Prime level, because even after tens of thousands of years. It remained this strong.

It didn’t take us long before I saw the first corrupt skeleton.

It is moving with its eyes burning in bright grey flames. It is the Sky Sovereign, and it carries a long knife at its waist.

We passed by it, but didn’t even notice us.

According to the information, this is the weakest part of the skeleton here. There are some powerful ones here. So, strong to be a mortal threat to us.

It will take us some time before we reach that place, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t dangers here that could kill us.

They are, and they are everywhere. The broken formations; they are floating around, containing the massive power that could kill even Prime.

Boom!

I was thinking that when one of the broken formations exploded not far from us.

It immediately disturbed the equilibrium of the place, and many broken formations began to explode, while others zipped around at breakneck speeds.

When they clashed with others, they would either explode or repel in another direction.

We watched tensely and avoided the ones that shot in our direction. It took us a few minutes before everything calmed down.

"It was reason, so many of our Primes were killed in that incident." She informed.

"It had not happened in this area, right?" I asked, and she shook her head. "No, it happened in the deepest part, but it had spread into the whole realm," she replied.

I shuddered hearing that; the broken formation exploding across the realm.

I can’t imagine the power it would have produced—no wonder barely anyone had survived. Even I would have a hard time surviving such a thing

Soon, we reached the gate of the city and passed through one of the biggest gaps.

"How long do you think it will take us to reach the deepest part of this place. "Two to four days," she replied. It is what I expected reading the information.

She took a tool and looked at the data appearing on it before moving ahead.

Our destination is the leak of the corruption. I don’t know how she plans to fix it, but there is definitely a plan.

Even after coming out of the city, we didn’t fly into the sky and moved through the ground. However, our speed is much faster than before.

This place is not without danger; there are broken formations here, not in quantity as in a city, but still in a large quantity.

We would slow down whenever we came across a cluster of them, and there are a lot of them.

It was fifteen minutes after coming out of the city. We saw the first monster, a bird with enormous wings, that had black lightning dancing across it.

It is also a Sky Sovereign monster, but more powerful than any skeleton we have come across in the city.

Two hours later, we came across another city; there are a lot of cities, and given the constraint of space. They are quite close to each other.

It feels closer to us, but for Sovereigns, it is far with days of journey.

Suddenly, I stopped and she stopped with me, with alertness flashing in her eyes, but a moment later. It had receded a little as she noticed what stopped me.

It is a plan with black flowers, which had yellow lines on it.

They are berelia flowers, one of the very rare plants, and the one that belongs to the corrupted element is even rarer. I have come across many plants, but this is the one that stopped me.

I carefully harvested all its flowers and stored them carefully before resuming the journey.

This realm may be dangerous, but it is also a rare opportunity to get a lot of precious resources, and I am going to get them.
