Chapter 4551: Shopping, Cleaning, and Formations
"I’ll take this one," I said to the salesman as I chose my last alchemical equipment.
It had been a few hours since I came to the market. I had brought furniture for the clinic, herbs and other medicine, formation ink, and now the alchemical.
"I will pack the item," he replied, and packed a wooden box in front of me.
I have equipment and other things thousands of times better, but I want to do everything from scratch.
I walked out of the store a few minutes later, and then I went to a few more stores and bought a few things before returning to the inn.
When I reached it, there was already a carriage, unloading the furniture and other things I had brought.
Usually, storage rings are not that rare, but this island is backward, and the material used to forge them is extremely rare here.
So, they are expensive, and those with high storage are cherished dearly.
I have thousands of them lying in my core. Even the lowest grade would make the Sovereigns on this island fight to the death for it.
I had lower-level ones, but I gave them to Tor.
It is why I have so few lower-level stuff; it is the same with the people I have killed or looted. They don’t keep lower-level stuff; they sell it or give it to their organisations.
"When it did arrive?" I asked as I stopped beside the young girl.
"Just a few minutes ago," she replied. I nodded and waited until they unloaded before tipping them.
"Why didn’t you ask them to put it inside?" she asked. "I wanted to lay down the formations first," I replied, and could see the surprise in the young girl’s eyes.
"You know formations?" she asked with her eyes lighting up. "Yes, just the basics," I replied and took out the formation brush and ink.
I want to lay out four types of formation. First is foundation one, which will strengthen the room and prevent it from being damaged further.
The second one is cleaning one; it will not set the dust. It is very important for the hospital.
The third is sanitising one; it will keep the rooms sanitised—another necessary function for the healers. I will be a Primary-I healer; I can’t just wave my hand and sanitize everything.
Though when I was Primary-I, I was capable of that and far more.
I went inside the room and looked around before opening the ink can and dipping it in, and started painting the runes across it.
It’s been a long time since I worked with such low-quality formation ink and tools.
Still, my hands moved smoothly as I formed one rune after another. It is hard to fight an impulse to make more than a basic one.
Even if it is a Grade I formation, it is sophisticated enough to be comparable to Grade II.
This impulse, I couldn’t fight.
"You didn’t take the measurement, consult tools; just simply started drawing the runes," said the young girl, bringing me out of my trance.
Hearing that, I wanted to hit my head hard. ’I can be such an idiot sometimes,’ I thought and turned to the young girl and grinned.
"I do need those tools for such a small place," I replied, returning to the formation while the girl watched me with wide eyes.
I intentionally drew slowly, but it is a basic formation. It didn’t take that long, but it still made the young girl’s eyes widen.
I could not hide everything. While I could wipe her memories and the whole damn city in a moment, I didn’t want to do it, especially to the girl, who had been nothing but polite.
Besides, I like her company; it doesn’t make me feel lonely, unlike when I’m in my room with my thoughts.
I finished the first formation, opened the second can, and began on the second formation.
"You are doing it, before it had set. Wont it interfere?" she asked. She seemed quite knowledgeable. "No," I replied.
"Why?" she asked. "Because the formation belongs to the same set and will have a single core; all three of them need to be placed together before they can be activated," I replied, making her eyes widen.
"I heard such formations are very rare and guarded," she said, and I smiled.
I was halfway into the second one when she left. Unwillingly, she has a job to do; she can’t stay here and watch forever.
She came back when I was nearly finished with the third formation.
I came off the ladder and placed an energy crystal on the formation. A single speck of energy would keep it active for years, but as I had said, I am doing everything from scratch.
Buzz!
The formation is activated. There was no visible change, except for a faint spread of power, but it still made the girl gasp in shock.
I realise why the power is strong, compared to the formation of this grade in this city.
So, the next moment, I lowered it to their level.
"Now that the formation is activated, let’s move in the furniture," I said, and the young girl helped me. By the time we finished, it was evening.
"Are you going to open the clinic tomorrow?" she asked, and I shook my head.
"No, I have to make the medicine first. So, I will open in two weeks," I replied, which again surprised her. "Are you an alchemist too?" she asked.
"Healers could make their own medicine," I replied to her. I didn’t know the alchemy when I was training to become a healer.
I didn’t need to; the academy has alchemists who produced nearly everything we needed
I planned to buy the medicine, just like the formation ink, but after seeing their abysmal quality, I decided to craft it myself.
The formation ink was of the same quality. I could bear it, but I couldn’t bear the inferior quality of the medicine. It was truly bad.
