Chapter 1979: 24.240 Sixth Violet Star - Execution of Mu Liao

The expulsion of the Elf Leader after breaking the military rules had scared the rest of the new soldiers in the borders. After that, the elf was thrown back to the main city to be returned to the territory of the elves and became the subject of rumors about how the elves had acted like a tyrant in the military during war. This situation made the reputation of the elven race fall quite a lot. The rumors of the elven race tyranny in the borders had spread in the city and this gave King Valerian a headache.

"How can they do such a thing!? Are they looking down on our Elven race!?" The King of elves exclaimed.

An elven elder speaks up, "Your majesty, this is our kin breaking the rules of the military. The borderlands are the territory of the military. We should have kept the rules in mind so this wouldn’t happen again."

"Why do our race need to listen to the rules of a lower race!? We are the strongest! They should just listen to us!" King Valerian said.

This response made the other elven elders in the room frown. This is something they didn’t expect of the current king. Though they are proud of their race, they never looked down on the race enough to follow the other’s laws in their own territory. That is simply overestimating themselves. There is also the fact that their race is in danger due to past actions the elf king had done in the past. It was due to this that some races didn’t look at their elven race in a good way like before.

However, who had the authority to override the voice of the Elf King, even though the elders couldn’t, it must include every single one of them. But at this moment the council of elders were split equally. One leans completely to the side of the current Elf King while the other half leans more for the livelihood of their whole race. That latter half of elven elders regretted agreeing to choose Valerian as the elf king after they had pushed out the former elf king, Vega.

"This can’t continue. We need to get an explanation from the military. I will go visit their headquarters for answers!" King Valerian said as he strode out of the room planning to go to the military headquarters to complain about the punishment his kin had suffered in the borders.

King Valerian slammed his hands on his office table when he heard the rumors about their race going around the alliance. It can be said that their clean reputation before is now riddled with holes. The first reason for downfall is when the former principal of the Taming academy, Bing Yilou, had told the other rulers the reason why he betrayed the alliance. The reason includes the cruelty and discrimination by the Elves towards the other races especially the human race.

Normally, this kind of discrimination didn’t come on strongly when the king of elves was still Lord Vega. Though the elven race cannot accept interspecies marriage, they don’t look down on the other races. In fact, the former elf king Vega is a friendly man. He has close friends in the other races. They are also the one who had helped him hide after leaving the elven territory to live with his mate, Heri, the beastman prophet. Things turn for worse when the one who had replaced him was King Valerian.

This elf has a strong dislike of the other races. In his eyes, only the Elven race is the most perfect race and the other races are just a mismash race made from their leftovers. They had the beauty and power which made others adore them. Under his leadership, the discrimination against other races had gotten stronger instead of being cut off. He strongly advises his own race to see themselves as the most important and any other race is unworthy of them. That way marriage from the outside was no longer possible and intermarriage among the elves was happening.

But they didn’t know that intermarriage among close blood relations can cause problems with genes which sometimes resulted in babies being born with problems in limbs and brain. At first the elven race didn’t notice it much as they didn’t dare to marry close relatives. But for King Valerian who believes that the purer the bloodline mixed the more superior they are. Prince Hevana and Princess Hevana were indeed siblings. But in reality they are cousins as well. They were born lucky to not have many problems with their genes except for problems in their emotional intelligence.

There is also the discrimination against the elves born with dark element affinity. When it was King Vega who still leads the elven race, he openly accepted them and treated them no different than the other kin. That was the only time that there were no so-called dark elves. They were called elves like the rest. After all, the dark element is also a natural attribute and just the opposite of the light element.

No one expected that the Elf King, Lord Valerian, would head to the military headquarters to complain. The military didn’t expect it as they were busy with the promotion of General Gu Ying who would in the future be called Marshal. He said, "Do you think I cannot defeat Pei Jin!? I can and I am destined to defeat. Even if I couldn’t, there are more of me who desire peace than the chaos that you had created. My only question... Was it worth it for you to kill your father and my clan to achieve what you have gained?"

"Xiao Jue, you have grown. Your father and grandfather would be proud if they saw you now," Mu Liao said.

Mu Liao stared at Long Juedi with a kind smile. This is the caring uncle that Long Juedi has in his memories. Seeing Mu Liao like this, Long Juedi hesitated. Suddenly, this kind expression was distorted to that of a madman.

"Of course, damn ass! It’s worth it. I just had to sell out your whole damn family to Lord Pei Jin and Lord Ouroboros and get the Marshal seat I’ve always dreamed of. It was unknown when Mu Liao had hidden a blade in his mouth and used it to kill Long Juedi by surprise. Unfortunately for him, this action was blocked by an arrow that appeared out of nowhere. No one had seen the source of this arrow, but the elves in the area had felt a powerful aura of wind element in it. There is only one person in the world who can do such a thing while being far away. This is the famous long range arrow of the former elf king, Vage.

Long Kian and Long Teng upon seeing the assassination attempt of Mu Liao, they were enraged.

"You are a lunatic to the very end!" Long Kian exclaimed while shouting at Mu Liao.

Long Teng said, "Beheaded him. This crazy person!"

Mu Liao laughs, "Hahaha~, never think that this is the end. I am not the only one who has sold my soul to the Evil Beast God!"

The new marshal, Gu Ying, before the line of sight of Mu Liao. Mu Liao gave him a crazy smile before and uttered voiceless words which made the former’s expression turn grim for a moment.

Marshal Gu Ying said, "Execution of Mu Liao begins!" He finally made a gesture and the blade fell towards the neck of Mu Liao.

THUD!

The head of Mu Liao was detached from his body and it rolled near the feet of Long Juedi. However, instead of being scared, Long Juedi picked up the head and stared at it coldly. He noticed something was off when suddenly Marshal Gu Ying appeared by his side.

Marshal Gu Ying took the head and said, "With this the revenge of your father and grandfather had been repaid. You should live your life as you wish now. That’s what your father and grandfather would have liked you to live."

Long Juedi lowered his head looking at his fist covered in the blood of Mu Liao and the new Marshal patting his head in comfort. But with an expression hidden by his lowered head, no one else knew what he was truly thinking about.

The young man responded, "Uncle Gu, thank you for punishing him."

"It’s my duty. Teacher would have liked me to watch over you as well. Do you want to join my troops?" Marshal Gu Ying asked.

However, Long Juedi didn’t respond and turned his head to look at his remaining family and Haerin’s side who had supported him ever since the death of his family. He declined the offer of the marshal.

"Sorry, Uncle Gu. I wanted to fight with them instead." Long Juedi said as he walked towards where Haerin and others were.

Even though Marshal Gu Ying didn’t seem offended, the depths of his eyes were murky as if something hidden was not noticed by anyone. He stares at the back of Long Juedi with a blank look. Meanwhile, back to the Ancient forest. Long Juedi finally brought out the skin he took out from Mu Liao’s mouth. Something engraved in the skin, looking bloody and disgusting, created a few words which Long Juedi reads.

He mumbles, "Do not trust Gu Ying!"
