Chapter 2069: 24.330 Sixth Violet Star - Before the ritual.

A stone from one of the children was thrown towards the marshal yet Gu Ying didn’t react much as he knew such a thing would never be able to harm him. One of the soldiers had intercepted the stone and thrown it towards the child. They were merciless that it even hit the young man’s head. A quarter of the boy’s head was destroyed by that stone and he died on the spot with a shock and fear in his eyes. From his head, his brain and blood were all splattered, scaring the other children.

AAHHH~

The children run away from the dead body and are now even more terrified by how their friend ended up as a corpse. Most of them cry as they puke. Such a terrifying scene would become a part of their nightmares as they fall asleep. However, there is no chance of them escaping. They were not only surrounded by soldiers, most of their parents were killed as well. They can only look at the Marshal that is supposed to be protecting them than making them suffer like this.

Now they no longer see this man as the hero who had saved them from the other races but just another horrifying monster who killed their parents and family.

Despite their fear, the children couldn’t help but look at Marshal Gu Ying with hatred. Normally, such eyes will not appear on children of all ages. They should be in the presence and embrace of their families growing closer and safe. However, the death of their parents which all of them had witnessed just says one thing. The Monster is before their eyes and their ending will most likely be the most painful one. Their tears fell uncontrollably yet none of the adults around them reacted.

The children can see that the soldiers around them were different from before. Their eyes were devoid of emotions as if they had become dolls or puppets that couldn’t feel anything. The kind that can only follow orders of this devil before their eyes. Thinking that this would be their ending as well made some other children think of killing themselves.

As expected before the Marshal can understand what is happening some children had also bashed their heads on the ground dying almost instantly. Seeing this, the Marshal’s face turned ugly.

Marshal Gu Ying said, "Stop them! Don’t let them kill themselves!"

With the soldiers moving most children were prevented from killing themselves and terrified them. They didn’t know what would happen to them next but just seeing those black irises of the marshal, they felt something had entered their bodies taking over their control and causing them to fall under his control. This is a mind control technique that is no worse than taking another person’s soul control over making them your puppet.

Marshal Gu Ying smiles seeing the children that had fallen in his hands. He commanded the soldiers.

"Let them go and give them weapons. After that we are heading to the ancient forest and killing those damn half human, half beast races that keep on preventing him from getting what I wanted!" The human marshal said.

It was after this that they headed to the territory of the beastmens. Under the command of the human marshal, Gu Ying, the children held their weapons and attacked those beastmen.

When the children appeared before the beastmen warriors they were shocked and their eyes turned blood shot in anger. They all glare at the human marshal as if they wanted to eat him alive. To see children fighting against their will and even using their own lives just so their enemies can harm them made them extremely angry.

"Human children!? You are using children as warriors!?"

"Just how low have you fallen, Humans!?"

"How can you do this to your own children!?"

"Do you think you can win with just these children!?"

Most beastmen were enraged by the scene and some reckless ones even attacked the human marshal in anger.

"Damn humans! Die!"

One of the beastmen jumped on Marshal Gu Ying, but this insane leader of the human race just looked at the beastmen devoid of any emotions and only made a gesture with his fingers alone for some human children to jump in between them. Seeing the human children, the beastmen immediately lowered his fist and instead he was stabbed multiple times by the children and looked at the scene in disbelief.

"You... are so... cruel! You... fucking monster!" The beastmen died under the blade of the children but he never blamed these children and just glared at the human marshal as if he wanted to kill him. He ripped his arm and threw it behind his comrades.

He used the last of his strength before dying and used this as a chance to once again attack marshal Gu Ying. Unfortunately, the soldiers beside the human marshal aren’t for show and the beastmen was stabbed through his body by the spear and dangled before the human marshal.

The beastmen grins and moves his head to take a bite catching everyone in surprise including Marshal Gu Ying. Such a dying man, how can he still have strength to take a bite of him. The beastmen successfully bit the marshal who used his right hand to block before he was beheaded. Seeing himself wounded by something he looked down on and never thought much about made the marshal feel humiliated.

"All humans listen to my order. Kill them all!"

The issued command made all soldiers from his side and all human children to attack the beastmen without care for their lives. Seeing this the commander of the other side, Lord Guardian also shouted a command.

"Follow the plan. Half will kill the adult soldiers and the other half will capture the children, retreat and then return!"

The beastmen race all followed the command of their commander. Though they already heard of the plan before they came to this place, those who had witnessed that comrade’s sacrifice just to attack the human marshal had made them proud. This human marshal isn’t anything scary at all. He can be killed. Unfortunately, their focus these time is the children. There is no way they would move their focus to anything else as they wanted to save the children more than do anything else right now.

As the two factions clashed, the Human Marshal Gu Ying who was observing the whole thing realized that the battle formation on the other side focused more on saving the children while the most elite ones were the ones blocking his soldiers preventing the others from attacking their comrade who was focusing on saving the children. Seeing this, Marshal Gu Ying understood what was happening.

"Having a prophet is truly different! The beastmen already knew that I will use the children trying to weaken them. I should have killed that damn prophet instead!" Marshal Gu Ying murmured.

His emotions were chaotic due to anger and haste that he started coughing. But before he wiped the blood at the corner of his lips, he felt something coming for him. He can only control some general under his command to protect him and block this attack. When he saw that it was the trees who were attacking them, he instantly knew who made the move.

"To think the former great king of the Elves would now become the dog of the Beastmen race, are you not embarrassed!? Elf King Vega!?" Marshal Gu Ying bellowed.

An expressionless Lord Guardian Vega appeared from behind the tree branches retracting from its last attack towards the human marshal. The human general was built differently than the other soldiers, they possessed the enhancement of Cosmos energy making their bodies even harder than metal. The tree branches bent and broke when these men blocked his attack for their marshal.

Former Elf King Vega noticed that trees would be useless against these bunch and brought out his bow.

"Just as I thought. The trees wouldn’t even be able to kill you! But it’s enough to prevent your boss from escaping!" said Lord Vega.

Marshal Gu Ying frowned when he noticed that his wheel chair was pinned on the ground by some tree vines and branches making his eyes narrowed dangerously. He wanted to make a move and destroy these things, but once he used his ability, this vessel would fall faster and it would die. His original vessel isn’t complete yet. He must buy more time.

He looks at the former elf king whose talents and fighting ability is hundred times stronger than Elf King Valerian he had killed. He had clicked his tongue thinking how stupid those long eared bastards are. This battle lasted for a while only for the beastmen race to suffer the most as they needed to defend and kill at the same time. Seeing this Commander Vega realized that the time had come as most children were captured by his soldiers. He had stopped holding back as the bow in his hand disappeared, replacing it with a sword.

"With the blessing of the Wind Emperor, please guide me as I cut my enemies into countless pieces!"

Under this chanting, the Elemental Emperor of the Wind, Lord Greene appeared behind the Lord Guardian Vega. With her blessing, the speed of the Lord Vega had increased a lot and he was able to behead all the human generals that kept blocking his path.

The moment the Elemental Emperor descended, Marshal Gu Ying knew that to win this battle, he must stop holding back. He had transformed a part of the cosmos energy in his body into his a qi and used it to cover his whole body. This way the guardian of the cosmos will not be able to sense him. Just as Lord Guardian Vega was about to stab him, Marshal Gu Ying was able to grab his wrist.

"A mere mortal, do you truly think you can kill me!?" Marshal Gu Ying shouted.

What he didn’t notice is that the spear held by Lord Vega had long disappeared, replaced by something round and white.

The Lord Guardian looked at him coldly and said, "I never planned to kill you. What I wanted is to buy us some time."

A stunned look appeared on Marshal Gu Ying’s face as he watched this elf unhesitatingly cut his right arm and pushed the marshal away from them. A powerful white light appeared from the orb that fell from the cut arm of Lord Vega and it envelops the human marshal almost instantly.

Feeling the power of dreams, the unknown soul inside the marshal’s body knew that this was a trap that was meant for it.

"Once I come out I will exterminate you all, damn mortals!!!"

The Marshal disappeared on the spot as he was dragged to the dream realm by the orb given to the Lord Guardian by the Lord Prophet. Seeing their enemy disappear, though this is only temporary the beastmen knew that they had completed their mission.

"Retreat! Don’t forget to bring back the children and our comrades with us!"

"Yes, Lord Guardian!"

They were now returning to the tribe to complete the ritual prepared to them by their Lord Prophet. As for what would happen next, everything would resume once that monster had escaped from the Dream realm where he was dragged into.
