Chapter 2078: 24.339 Sixth Violet Star - Mythical Creatures

After coaxing the lord prophet, Heri, to sleep. The Lord Guardian stood up from the bed and covered his mate with a blanket. He sighs seeing the traces of sleep deprivation on Heri’s face. Burdened by his position as the Prophet, his beloved had been using his future sight ability more frequently especially when the barrier was broken. He tried to find ways of survival, trying his best to make sure more people would survive. Since he couldn’t join them at the frontlines, he can only make up his responsibilities at the rear.

Once he was sure that his beloved had fallen in deep sleep, the Lord Guardian had come out of the tent whereas a few elder shamans were waiting for him. These elder shamans bow their heads towards him.

Lord Vega, the guardian of the ancient forest whispers to the shamans, "Protect the prophet until I come back."

"Yes, Lord Guardian," the elder shamans said.

There is another meeting among the leaders of each race and Vega represents the beastmen race as a part of the royal family. The spirit race was represented by Spirit God Thorn, the elves were represented by Vera and the Garan for the dwarf race. They are actually out in the wild with only a bonfire as the source of light. When the Lord Guardian had arrived, the three who were waiting for him had all looked at him.

Spirit God Thorn said, "Your wife is finally asleep. How is his situation?"

Taking a seat with them near the bonfire, Lord Vega answers, "Same as before. It means that the Marshal is still imprisoned in that realm."

"That’s fine too. Not everyone who can’t fight has left this forest yet. Once that monster comes out this place will no longer be safe," said Spirit God Thorn.

The Dwarf Leader, Garan, was touching his beard and couldn’t help but ask, "Why are you so sure that the Lord Prophet didn’t just lose his ability to prophesy?"

"The ability of the Lord Prophet is inherited from his bloodline. It cannot be lost but passed through lineage instead," Lord Vera said. He had heard about this ability from the former elf queen when Lord Heri was still staying at the elven lands. "Thanks to this we still know that the monster hasn’t escaped yet. It’s just that, it might have made the Lord Prophet uncomfortable."

"He had finally fallen asleep after a few missed nights. He is in deep sleep right now," said the Lord Guardian. "Let’s talk about how you think we can defeat the human marshal, Gu Ying."

"That thing is not human. It is not something a demigod like you or a single god like me can defeat. It might be possible with more gods to help us," said the Spirit God Thorn.

When this was said, Garan and Vera had frowned. They feel like the Spirit God is looking down on them. However, thinking of the fact that whatever is possessing the body of Gu Ying is not human, then it is most likely a foreign god as it was too powerful. Though now he is limited to the strength of a mortal and using any energy beyond the limitation of his body would destroy its vessel. That’s why Gu Ying had been so careful before. It was unknown why he suddenly became what he is right now. Weakened outer appearance as if suffering from a terminal disease. When the Lord Guardian saw him, he felt a shadow of death coming from the person.

The Lord Guardian had said, "I do not know if other gods are coming but He’er said to buy time as much as we can and we can survive."

"The Lord Prophet didn’t say anything else? What does he mean by ’buy time’ to survive," Captain Garan said as he looked a bit confused.

Captain Vera said, "Maybe what Lord Heri means is that in the future, someone might come to us and save us. Either that or..."

"Or the life of the marshal is running out and as long as we persevere we can outlive him," said Spirit God Thorn. "It might be impossible to do this with just us. To survive until his vessel dies, we must ask help with those two mythical creatures living in this place."

Captain Garan and Captain Vera looked confused as they truly didn’t know that there are mythical creatures in this world. Mythical creatures are known to be as powerful as those in the divine realm, and most of them were only seen in books as they were considered legends.

"Mythical Creatures?"

"Those two cannot be disturbed. They are protecting what made this ancient forest flourish to this extent. Once that thing in their possession is taken then... this forest might just end up ruined like the city beyond the forest," said the Lord Guardian.

Captain Garan asked, "So there are truly Mythical Creatures?!"

"Aren’t Mythical creatures considered legends?" said Captain Vera.

Spirit God Thorn said, "These two mythical beasts, are they connected to the two beastmen princes?"

"Yes, they are their contracted beast," said the Lord Guardian.

Spirit God Thorn mumbles, "Then their existence is not a surprise. Those two princes are people even I am incapable of defeating."

"My lord don’t you think that the reason Marshal Gu Ying is targeting this forest is because of that thing guarded by the mythical creatures?" Captain Vera said.

This suggestion made the other three look at Captain Vera. They had a collective stunned expression that made the elf captain uncomfortable.

Captain Vera asked, "Did I say something wrong?"

"No. Maybe you are right," said Spirit God Thorn who then looked at the Lord Guardian. "Is it possible to talk to the Mythical Guardians of this forest?"

The Lord Guardian thought for a moment and recalled the barrier around the forest that was broken. He had some guesses in his heart but didn’t openly share it with others.

He suddenly stood up and said, "Let go. There is something I must ask of them as well."

The four of them stood up and followed the Lord Guardian’s lead. They walked through the night and were brought into some hidden location within the ancient forest.

Captain Garan asked while looking around. He realized that the Lord Guardian had brought them to the outer region of the ancient forest.

"Why go here? There is nothing in this place," the captain from the dwarf asked.

Only the Spirit God Thorn who is sensitive towards qi and divinity itself was surprised.

"I can’t believe this! They live in this kind of place and its surface was even trampled," exclaimed the God of all spirits.u

Captain Vera also felt that there is something artificial in this place but unlike the Spirit God he cannot perceive through the illusion setup in this place.

He said, "There is something strange in this place. It looks like the real thing but it is merely an illusion."

Lord Guardian Vega pulled out some kind of jade token and placed it on the ground. Before anyone in this group could react, they were swallowed by that wave of light and as if they were brought into another plane a huge cave appeared before the group. The moment they arrived in this place, the two beings that slept in this area had woken up.

Inside the dark care, two pairs of vertical slit irises appeared. The owner of these eyes are none other than the two mythical creatures the group of four had been talking about before. In reality, these two are just the quantum beasts of the God of Destruction and the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness.

{Reine, those mortals are finally here. Lord Hei said if the mortals are led by a demigod elf we should show ourselves.}

{I know. Let him call for us to summon.}

Outside the cave, the Lord Guardian and the other three immediately noticed the purity of qi in this area. It’s a bit hard to breathe for mortals who haven’t transcended divinity like Captain Garan and Captain Vera. The Lord Guardian helps to protect their souls from being overwhelmed.

The former elf king said to the two, "Get as far as possible from the cave." Hearing this, Captain Vera and Captain Garan had retreated to a certain distance.

At the same time, Spirit God Thorn looked serious at this moment as well. He can feel two powerful sources of strength coming from the inside and it’s a lot stronger than the divinity he possessed.

He observed the Lord Guardian and noticed that unlike himself. Lord Vega doesn’t seem to feel the pressure he is sensing. He couldn’t understand why this is happening when in reality he is supposed to be stronger than the former elf king who is only a demigod. Little did Spirit God Thorn know, the Lord Guardian isn’t affected by the pressure of aura because he is protected by the blessing of the God of Destruction himself.

The Lord Guardian walked towards the entrance of the huge cave but he didn’t enter instead he fell on his knees and bowed towards the cave.

He said, "The Guardian of the Ancient Forest seeks audience with the Lords!"
