Chapter 3926: Unreasonable Monsters

Chapter 3926: Unreasonable Monsters

One flower after another was ripped apart, while entire swathes of Allsences were annihilated.

The beautiful garden was destroyed.

Completely destroying a parallel universe was not difficult for Lu Yin or either of the other two men. They continued to travel through spatial passages, shattering one parallel universe after another. Time flew by: one month, two months, five months. Finally, another full year had passed.

They destroyed countless parallel universes, but nothing appeared. All they saw were more Allsenses and flowers.

The wireless jincan vibrated, and when Lu Yin checked it, his expression changed. He quickly released karma at the Allsenses.

“What happened?”

“A new attack channel?”

Lu Yin nodded. “It’s strength.”

Ming Zhuo exclaimed in surprise, “Can even strength be an attack channel? That can’t be.”

Strength was something that could only be sensed or measured, not perceived.

The ripples of strength that appeared during fights were nothing more than strength being exerted on space.

However, the Allsenses had evolved to “see” strength. To them, strength had become a channel that could be traveled across. Some of the people from the three Night Pillars had already been killed. Fortunately, Lu Yin had been contacted in time.

After this, strength could no longer be used to attack the Allsenses.

“This can’t go on,” Yu commented, “Who knows how many Allsenses are in this megaverse! I also have a feeling that something is deliberately avoiding us.”

Lu Yin had the same feeling.

Ming Zhuo said, “If only we had something that could threaten the Allsenses, wouldn’t provoke that hidden force, and can also defend against the Allsenses’ attacks. That would bring calamity to this entire Allsense Megaverse.”

Lu Yin’s eyes lit up. “What did you just say? Something that won’t provoke the hidden force, won’t be attacked by the Allsenses, and yet can still threaten them?”

Ming Zhuo nodded. “Exactly. We’re too big a threat—especially you, Junior Brother. The moment you take action, as long as the enemy has any intelligence, they’ll avoid trouble and simply allow you to destroy whatever you want. After all, they know how to hide themselves and are afraid of being exposed to the Aevum Inch. They’re at least as cautious as our Nine Odysseys Megaverse.”

Lu Yin took out a piece of Devourer from his cosmic ring. It was a type of metal, and yet it possessed a natural instinct to devour flesh and blood. The piece was covered with spikes as it writhed and twisted about in Lu Yin’s hand, trying to burrow into his body.

However, the gap in strength was far too great.

“What is that?”

“Devourer,” Lu Yin replied. He then proceeded to explain the metal’s properties.

Both Ming Zhuo and Yu were shocked. Such a thing existed? It was lifeless, and yet it consumed flesh, grew without limits, and even regrew after being cut apart. It was completely inconceivable.

However, in the Allsense Megaverse, it seemed that only such an irrational thing could fight against the irrational threats that they faced.

“It’s not a living creature, so it won’t be killed by the Allsenses.”

“Those flowers also don’t attack non-living things, so it really is quite suitable,” Yu agreed.

Lu Yin broke off a piece of Devourer and tossed it towards a flower.

The flower did not react at all, even as the Devourer continuously tried to tear into the flower.

“It certainly isn’t picky. It wants to consume everything,” Ming Zhuo remarked.

Yu shook his head. “Unfortunately, it’s too weak to pose any real threat to the creatures of this megaverse. To threaten this megaverse, there would need to be a vast amount of this metal and enough pieces to be spread across multiple universes. How else could it possibly deal with the Allsenses and the flowers?”

Lu Yin stared at the piece of Devourer. “Dealing with the flowers won’t be easy. The most powerful ones can easily crush peak Dukkhans. However, the Allsenses are extremely fragile. They may be able to ignore differences in strength by attacking through specific channels, so using this metal against them is ideal.

“The stronger the Devourer, the larger it becomes. When it possesses the strength of an Envoy, it can be as large as a continent. When it becomes as strong as a Progenitor, it can fill stretches of outer space. If it gets even stronger...” Lu Yin’s eyes glinted. Devourer had never reached that level of strength in the Tianyuan Megaverse.

The one who had neutralized the threat of the Devourer had been the Celestial Demons’ ancestor. For Lu Yin and the other two men, it would not be difficult to eliminate Devourer, which indicated that the bit of Devourer that had threatened the Fourth Mainland in the past had never been more than a Semi-Progenitor-level threat.

The furthest that Lu Yin had ever enhanced Devourer with his die’s Enhance ability was six times, which had consumed 10 billion star crystals and raised it to a power level of 530,000, which was equivalent to an Envoy.

To threaten the Allsense Megaverse, the metal had to be improved to at least the Ortuser level. Anything less would be meaningless.

Using just the die to enhance the metal to the Ortuser level seemed a bit unrealistic. To begin with, Lu Yin did not have that much star essence. However, the metal could also grow quickly by consuming flesh and blood. And right here...

His eyes moved over to Ming Zhuo and Yu, and the two men glanced at each other. “You’re not thinking of letting this thing consume our flesh, are you?”

“It can’t handle it.”

“I can do something to make it capable of that,” Lu Yin replied. The piece of Devourer in his hand was certainly unable to withstand the flesh of a peak Dukkhan, but if he Enhanced it to the Progenitor level, it might be able to devour small bits of their flesh and blood.

If the Devourer tried to consume such flesh as it was, the metal would be the one that was dissolved by the blood and flesh.

A drop of blood from a true expert could shatter the void, and that was not exaggerating at all.

Ming Zhuo’s expression turned serious. “Junior Brother, if what you’re saying is true and this thing can grow indefinitely, then even if we use it to find the power hiding in this Allsense Megaverse and resolve our current crisis, this metal could itself become a threat to us.”

Lu Yin calmly smiled. “It won’t. To grow, it needs to consume flesh and blood. Does this Allsense Megaverse have that?”

Ming Zhuo thought for a moment. “That’s true.”

The only living things in the Allsense Megaverse were the Allsenses and the flowers. Even if the Devourer grew strong enough to threaten peak Dukkhans, so long as it was unable to obtain more flesh, it would not be able to grow any further. And at that level, Lu Yin would still be able to destroy it without any issues. Besides, even if it spread through the entire megaverse, it still would not matter. The Allsense Megaverse was destined to be reset, and when that happened, everything would vanish.

“By the way, could this thing also be from a foreign megaverse?” Yu suddenly asked.

Lu Yin paused. He had not considered that possibility. “It doesn’t have the aura of a foreign megaverse.”

“If it’s stayed in a single megaverse for long enough, the foreign aura can disappear,” Ming Zhuo explained.

Lu Yin gave the Devourer a long look. It was possible, but for the moment, dealing with the Allsense Megaverse was what was important.

He moved a short distance away from the other two and brought out his die, rolling it with a tap of a finger.

It had been a while since he had last rolled his die. Of the six sides, only a few were still useful to him.

Still, there were occasions when the die could manifest miracles.

The die slowly came to a halt. Five pips: Gift Copy.

Lu Yin’s eyes flashed. He approached Ming Zhuo and patted the man’s arm twice. “Senior, I’ve been meaning to ask, do you have any injuries?”

Ming Zhuo looked bewildered. Injuries?

Yu gave Lu Yin an odd look, paying particular notice to his hand. Why did he pat him twice?

“No.”

“That’s good.” With that, Lu Yin stepped away and continued rolling his die.

Ming Zhuo and Yu exchanged confused glances.

Lu Yin regretted touching Ming Zhuo, as nothing had happened. The man did not have an innate gift, which was a pity. If Lu Yin had known in advance, he would have touched Yu instead.

However, Lu Yin was not particularly close with Yu, and randomly touching another person would be inappropriate.

Shaking his head, he tapped his die again, and it spun. Six pips: Possession.

He held back his energies, as the creatures of the Allsense Megaverse cultivate with neither stellular energy nor consciousness, which meant that Possession was impossible. If not for that, Lu Yin would have summoned his die long ago.

He tapped once more. This time, the die landed on three pips: Enhance.

Seeing the two screens of light in front of him, a long-lost familiar feeling welled up in Lu Yin.

He placed the piece of Devourer onto the top screen and started throwing out star essence.

Once, twice, five times, ten times. Finally, the metal fell out the bottom screen for the eleventh time.

In total, enhancing the piece of Devourer had consumed nearly 400 billion star essence, which was a staggering amount, but it did manage to reach the Progenitor level.

While it was still only as large as a palm, it was able to grow at any moment, and it was far, far more powerful than before. Lu Yin was able to feel a bit of poking from the writhing spikes, though for them to pierce his skin, the Devourer would need the strength of an Ortuser.

If he wanted to enhance the metal any further with star essence, not even tens of trillions would be enough.

There were people readily available, so there was no need to waste any star essence.

Lu Yin immediately snapped off a small piece of Devourer and handed it to Ming Zhuo. “Senior, try this.”

Ming Zhuo held the small piece of metal. “Such sharp spikes! If they were any harder, my skin wouldn’t be able to stop them.”

Ming Zhuo’s physical strength was far inferior to Lu Yin’s. If Lu Yin could feel the spikes even slightly, then Ming Zhuo undoubtedly felt much more.

The man promptly tore his flesh open and dropped a bit of blood onto the Devourer. “What sharp spikes!”

The moment contact was made, the small piece of Devourer started to frantically twist about as it ravenously consumed the blood. Signs of corrosion appeared on the surface of the metal, as it was clearly struggling to withstand the power of Ming Zhuo’s blood, and yet it continued to consume.

Ultimately, that piece of Devourer melted.

Improving it to the Progenitor level was still insufficient.

Lu Yin was not surprised, and he simply gathered the main piece of Devourer and continued Enhancing it. He had already expected such an outcome and thus had not dismissed Enhance’s two light screens yet.

He Enhanced the metal two more times and then broke off another small piece for Ming Zhuo to test.

This time, the Devourer did not dissolve, and it consumed the blood. The metal’s pitch-black surface took on a dark-red color, and its spikes gained a cold gleam. Suddenly, the spikes thrust outwards.

Ming Zhuo reflexively let go of the metal, as it had pricked his hand. Specks of blood could be seen on his palm.

As soon as the Devourer fell, it expanded. Lu Yin kicked it through outer space just before it swelled explosively. It rapidly grew, spreading out in all directions.

As it grew, it tore some flowers apart. Some were too tough for the metal to break, so the Devourer wrapped around them instead. The flowers did not react to the non-living threat at all. As for the Allsenses, they were annihilated in vast swathes with but a single twitch of the spikes.

Ming Zhuo and Yu watched on in shock. What a terrifying rate of improvement! Humans had to slowly cultivate their power, but this metal could grow so fast. There was no question that it was monstrous.

Lu Yin exhaled. This had been the right choice. With the Devourer now in play, let’s see how whatever’s behind everything will stay hidden.

This was just one parallel universe, but Lu Yin had enough Devourer on hand to throw more into other universes. The Allsense Megaverse would soon experience the terror of an irrational threat.

Following that, Lu Yin proceeded to break the Devourer apart, splitting the metal into hundreds and then thousands of pieces, which then consumed a bit of Ming Zhuo and Yu’s blood.

While both were peak Dukkhans, after losing so much blood, their faces turned pale. They were even forced to rest multiple times.

During this time, Lu Yin threw every piece of Devourer into a different parallel universe, sending them through spatial passages that they had already discovered.

It had taken the three men a long time to find those passages, but after learning their locations, it was easy to return to them.

Even so, feeding so many pieces of Devourer and then throwing them into parallel universes still took nearly half a year.

On their way back to the Night Pillars, he saw pieces of Devourer growing and coiling across the universes like serpents, constantly tearing flowers apart. Allsenses died from even the slightest touch, and they were unable to cause the slightest bit of harm to the Devourers.

In this Allsense Megaverse, there was nothing that could oppose the metal.

Its only real threat would be intelligent, powerful creatures, but unfortunately, that was exactly what the megaverse lacked the most.

As long as the hidden entity did not show itself, the Allsense Megaverse would be a paradise for the Devourer.
