Chapter 4215: Switching Opponents

Chapter 4215: Switching Opponents

Huo continued attacking, trying to shatter the red coffin.

“Senior Seven-Treasure Anura, I am Lu Yin of the human civilization. We’ve met once before,” Lu Yin said in a low voice when he reached the black sphere.

A voice answered from within, “I remember you, human. You sparred with Little Eighteen.”

“How can I help you get out?”

“Are your people willing to help us?”

“Ancestor Shan asked me to do my best to rescue you, but we are running out of time. How can I help you?”

“Push this damn ball.”

“What?”

“Push this damn ball away!”

“You’ll move with it.”

“Trust me. Just-”

Boom!

A deafening blast prevented Lu Yin hearing Old First’s response. A mark had been left on the red coffin. There was a slight dent, and the blow hurled Lu Yin away, along with the coffin.

When the coffin struck the ground, Lu Yin stared at its side in shock. Huo had actually left a mark on the coffin. A few more blows in the same place might break the coffin.

He looked up as Huo slowly descended, the creature’s huge eyes fixed onto Lu Yin. “No matter which civilization you come from... our Blacklight Civilization will annihilate the Seven-Treasure Anuras.”

After the creature spoke, despite not making any visible motion, the universe abruptly split in two. Indescribable terror caused Lu Yin to reflexively teleport away, taking the coffin with him. The ground where he had just fallen was cleaved apart.

He appeared far away, staring at the damage in horror. What sort of technique was that?

“Be careful. That’s Huo’s cosmic law,” Old Fourth warned.

Lu Yin clenched his teeth and teleported back to the black sphere. Overhead, the same terrifying attack surged out yet again. He hurriedly pushed at the black sphere, this time using his full strength. With the threat of Huo everpresent, Lu Yin had very few chances to act. Unfortunately, even his full strength only made the black sphere tremble once. It would not budge at all. How could it be this heavy?

“More strength!” Old First called out.

Lu Yin abruptly teleported away again. The air where he had been standing was split in half. He had no time to answer Old First, as Lu Yin had nearly been ripped apart.

Huo’s eyes swept over the seven-colored land. This creature was using an absolute means; such methods could only belong to a fishing civilization. There was no other way for a mere Aberrant to evade a cosmic law.

Huo’s attacks were not nearly as simple as a mere slash.

With that thought, black plates scattered out, surrounding the area near the black sphere. Huo was confident that it could keep Old First trapped, but it did not know what the unknown creature had just said to the toad.

After all, the Seven-Treasure Anura was a creature at the same level as Huo, and they might very well have some way to break the seal.

No matter what, Huo could not allow the strange creature to get close to Old First again.

In the distance, Lu Yin was panting hard. The second attack had given him the terror of certain death. It had been so vivid.

How long had it been since he had felt such a sensation?

Huo was a supreme expert capable of killing Lu Yin. The creature was likely no weaker than Greater Sancte Green Lotus.

Should I ask Mister Mu to act?

But given Lu Yin’s many years of experience with war, he was certain that the Blacklight Civilization had not revealed their full strength just yet. After all, they had already accomplished their goal for the current attack.

While traveling to the seven-colored land, Lu Yin had specifically asked Little Eighteen about how many Immortals the Blacklight Civilization had revealed. The toad had only mentioned how many had appeared at the beginning of the attack, and just that had been enough to overwhelm the Seven-Treasure Anuras. If Lu Yin were in charge of the Blacklight Civilization, he would have absolutely kept at least one expert hidden, just in case.

In the distance, Lu Yin could see that the black plates were sealing off the area that surrounded Old First’s black sphere. It would be difficult to even approach the sphere now, let alone push it away. Not to mention, the sphere’s weight, or the way that it was anchored in place, surpassed what Lu Yin could manage with his own strength. Unless...

“What did Old First say?” Old Fifth called out. He was still fighting against the Blacklight creature known as Duan, who was also an Immortal. The toad was constantly surrounded by Seventy-Two Seals. Duan had not yet used Life Overreach. As soon as it did, it would likely unleash Ninety-Seven Seals, which was why Old Fifth needed to stay on guard.

The toad had no intention of being imprisoned.

Lu Yin watched the battle between Old Fifth and Duan, and then he looked over at where Old Fourth was fighting. Old Fourth’s opponent was Kui, who had attacked Lu Yin earlier. However, Kui was at a level beneath Duan. Even with Life Overreach, Kui could only use Seventy-Two Seals. Old Fourth could handle their opponent, and they did not need to be as cautious as Old Fifth.

Even so, Kui’s method of attack surprised Lu Yin.

Kui clasped its two hooked claws together and wildly flailed them about in all directions, forcing Old Fourth to maintain a bit of distance.

After watching for a moment, Lu Yin understood. Because Kui was weaker than Old Fourth, it used this method to keep the toad at bay. In contrast, Duan was stronger than Old Fifth, which made Old Fifth constantly retreat and remain extremely wary.

Watching Kui’s fighting style, Lu Yin spoke to Old Fourth. “Let’s switch opponents.”

“What?”

“I’ll fight Kui.”

“Then what about me?”

“Huo.”

Old Fourth’s mouth twisted. “Are you serious? I’ll be torn to pieces!”

“Do you want to save your senior?” Lu Yin said.

Old Fourth glanced at the enormous Blacklight creature in the sky. “Don’t we still have someone else who can help? That guy looks pretty strong.”

“The Blacklight Civilization definitely has another expert hidden.”

“That’s not likely.”

“They absolutely do.”

“I think-”

“Cut the nonsense! If you don’t want to save your senior, I can take the rest of you and run away right now!”

Old Fourth glanced at Old Fifth and then at Huo before letting out a helpless sigh. “How long do I have to hold out for?”

Lu Yin’s voice grew heavy, “I won’t lie to you: I don’t know. Just do your best.”

Old Fourth sighed. “Fine. Just don’t end up collecting my corpse. Also, Kui isn’t a simple opponent either, so watch yourself.”

After speaking, the toad’s eyes rolled skyward, and they suddenly let out a furious roar, startling Kui into retreating a short distance while warily eying the toad.

Old Fourth glared up at the sky. “Huo! I’ve hated the sight of you for a long time! As the most stylish anura in the clan, I’ll fight you to the death!”

The toad’s eyes grew bloodshot as they leapt up, thrusting the broken steel fork in their hand at Huo.

All across the seven-colored land, the Seven-Treasure Anuras looked up, moved by Old Fourth’s actions. They had never suspected the toad to have such a side.

All along, Old Fourth had been regarded as a sleazy individual. Stylish? Not in the least. Even so, at this moment, Old Fourth looked more impressive than anyone else.

Even Astral Anura was stunned. Is that really Uncle Fourth?

Little Eighteen was similarly dumbfounded.

Old Fifth gaped, as if seeing Old Fourth for the first time.

Huo also stared at Old Fourth, who had just challenged the most powerful Blacklight creature here. Has this damn toad gone mad? They actually dare to attack me?

Thus far in the war, Old Fourth had always made a point to avoid Huo, and yet the toad was suddenly charging straight at it. If you want to die, I’ll help you on your way!

The universe split asunder as a tearing force appeared.

Old Fourth let out a roar. “Waaah! Come on, little Blacklight!”

Lu Yin watched as Old Fourth was blasted deep underground from a single blow. He shook his head, took a step forward, and made his way over to Kui.

Kui was also stunned by Old Fourth’s unexpected actions. The toad had actually abandoned Kui in order to attack Huo. Did the blows to their head leave them stupid?

Before Kui could think any further, Lu Yin appeared in front of the creature. “Hey, I’m your opponent now.”

Kui looked at Lu Yin. Another lunatic? This one dares to challenge me? The creature fled just a moment ago.

Aberrants were capable of fighting against average Immortals, but was Kui an average Immortal? It belonged to a fishing civilization. And with Life Overreach, it was far beyond what a mere Aberrant could handle.

What is wrong with these creatures?

“Let’s keep going. Use that move from before.” Lu Yin wanted to directly face the technique that Kui had used to hold Old Fourth off. It was perfectly suited for Extremes Must Be Reversed to gather power. That would grant Lu Yin the power to shove Old First’s black sphere.

Kui’s eyes narrowed. “You are not worthy.”

With that, the creature’s hooked claws shot at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin arched a brow. I see. Fair enough.

As the claws drew near, Lu Yin vanished. When he reappeared, he was already behind Kui, throwing a punch straight into the creature’s body.

The power of that impact left Kui seeing ghosts. The plates struck by that solitary attack cracked, and the massive Blacklight creature plummeted towards the ground.

Ever since he had endured the pressure of Awe Gate’s thirty-five rifts, Lu Yin’s strength had skyrocketed.

If one could withstand a certain level of pressure, their strength would approach that level of pressure. That was the miraculousness of Extremes Must Be Reversed.

In a direct confrontation, Lu Yin was not yet at the point where his own strength could compare to the power of Awe Gate’s thirty-five rifts, but he was closing in on that level.

Kui was only a relatively normal Immortal, which made it far inferior to Greater Sancte Awe Gate. Even if the creature used Seventy-Two Seals, it might not be able to imprison Awe Gate. At the moment, it was impossible for it to endure Lu Yin’s strength.

Kui smashed into the ground, blasting a crater open. Huge eyes turned upwards. How is this possible? The creature is only an Aberrant, just an Aberrant! Where is such absurd strength coming from? This is not normal at all.

Lu Yin’s strength overturned everything that Kui had believed about the Aevum Inch.

Lu Yin looked down at the creature and sneered. He then vanished once again, appearing at Kui’s flank with a kick. The impact was powerful, and yet another black plate cracked as Kui’s massive body was sent flying. The Immortal was being treated as a punching bag.

Lu Yin proceeded to teleport again and again, attacking without any pause. He chased after Kui to the point where the Blacklight creature could barely breathe.

It could not see through teleportation, nor could it block Lu Yin’s physical attacks. This unknown creature was even more challenging than Old Fourth. In such a short amount of time, nearly half of Kui’s plates had cracked.

From the distance, Little Eighteen watched the battle, remembering how Lu Yin had beaten them by the seven-colored lake years before. Clearly, the human had been holding back a great deal during that spar.

Finally, Kui could not take it any longer. Hexagonal plates whirled about as a powerful aura erupted from the creature: Life Overreach.

Lu Yin raised a hand and pointed a finger: Tri-Azure Sword Intent.

Sword slashes met every last cracked plate with perfect precision. Instantly, nearly half of the plates shattered. Kui never even had an opportunity to unleash a Darksky Seal.

The creature stared at Lu Yin in a daze. Was it possible for an Aberrant to be this powerful?

“Am I worthy now?”

In Kui’s eyes, Lu Yin was a far greater threat than Old Fourth. At this moment, Kui wanted to switch opponents again.

Lu Yin frowned. Still not using that move? Fine, we’ll keep going.

There was a thud, and Kui was sent flying with another kick. Left with no choice, the hooked claws moved together. The creature was determined to take the advantage back.

Seeing Kui prepare to use the same move as before, Lu Yin finally relaxed. He stepped directly into range of Kui’s frenzied attacks and welcomed all of them.

Kui stared as Lu Yin was struck again and again. The Blacklight creature was dumbstruck. What is wrong with this creature? Does it want to be beaten up?

Elsewhere, Old Fourth continuously dodged while also trying to inch closer to Old First’s black sphere. The toad understood that, if they did not try to approach the sphere, Huo would turn its attention back onto Lu Yin. Huo had never abandoned its desire to strike Lu Yin, which would not do. Old Fourth might not know what Lu Yin was planning, but since the toad had been told to hold Huo back, they would do their very best.

“Come on, Huo! I know you! Back then, you abandoned your Blacklight Civilization to escape, taking the One-Hundredth Seal with you. If not for your escape, the Blacklight Civilization would have never been destroyed.

“Right now, you’re just trying to fool these Blacklight creatures into dying for you. You just want to seize power, you despicable thing!

“Come on! As the most stylish anura, I’ll slaughter you, the most despicable creature of all...”
