Chapter 4216: I’ll Devour You
Huo’s expression grew darker and darker as its killing intent grew thicker and thicker. Bastard! How dare a toad slander me!
Old Fourth cursed while fleeing. They had not once considered actually fighting Huo. As for their words, everything had come from Old Fifth.
Old Fourth had just tried switching opponents with Old Fifth, but Old Fifth had flatly refused. Instead, they had shared a few lines for Old Fourth to say.
Sure enough, the moment the toad spoke the words, Huo erupted into a rage. The Blacklight creature hated its past escape more than anything else. Even if fleeing had preserved the hope of the entire Blacklight Civilization, fleeing was still fleeing. Being slandered while in the midst of getting revenge caused Huo’s hatred for Old Fourth to surge unstoppably.
Lu Yin also heard the toad’s comments. Old Fourth is certainly vicious enough, and they are clearly not afraid of death.
There was no denying that the Seven-Treasure Anuras had tough hides. It was no wonder how Little Eighteen had managed to endure so many blows from Lu Yin during their spar. Old Fourth’s defenses were terrifying, at least equal to Lu Yin’s endurance when he was using Extremes Must Be Reversed if not surpassing that level.
This was also despite being drenched in blood and having one broken leg.
The entire seven-colored land had become a slaughterhouse. Battles were being fought everywhere.
The Seven-Treasure Anuras had grown used to such wars. Too many of them had died over the years.
At the moment, the most frustrated creature on the entire battlefield was Kui. It watched as Lu Yin accepted blow after blow, but nothing that the Blacklight creature did seemed to matter in the least. Kui could not understand what Lu Yin was doing.
Ever since the unknown creature had started trying to stall for time, Kui had seen its opponent accept every attack without even trying to fight back. But the moment that Kui let up its assault, the strange Aberrant would start pummeling the Immortal. There was no choice but to continue attacking while the odd creature dragged things out.
At this moment, Kui was desperate to fight Old Fourth instead. Losing was one thing, but losing while not even understanding what was happening was beyond infuriating.
Kui suspected that it was somehow being used. There was no question about that detail, but it could not understand how it was being used.
Lu Yin’s body kept withering and recovering, withering and recovering. The limit of the power that Extremes Must Be Reversed could gather had become absurd, and Lu Yin could last far longer before releasing the accumulated power than in the past. Also, the longer that he endured, the more confident he was that he could push the black sphere.
Old Fourth, just hold on.
Old Fourth looked at their torn flesh. More than half of their body had been ripped open. The toad could not hold on; they were truly unable to endure. They could not help but glance over at Lu Yin. What the hell are you doing, getting beat up over there?
Huo also glanced over at Lu Yin, unable to understand what the mysterious creature was doing.
However, a sense of unease lingered. Huo would not underestimate any creature who belonged to a fishing civilization, even if he was only an Aberrant.
What made fishing civilizations truly terrifying was their absolute means.
The Blacklight Civilization’s Life Overreach elevated their overall strength, but there were some fishing civilizations that had absolute means that were specific to individuals. Even if only a few individuals could use those means, they brought about horrifying levels of strength.
Could this creature be one of those?
“Huo, your grandpa’s right here! Come see your grandpa!” Old Fourth yelled, internally weeping. They absolutely did not want to be killed, and yet they were forcing their enemy to try to kill them. It was pure agony.
“Don’t think that your grandpa doesn’t know what you’re plotting! You want to use this battle to kill all these Blacklight creatures. Then, you’ll lie low for a while before coming back as the head of a new batch of Blacklight creatures. By that time, nobody will know how you previously abandoned your entire civilization and ran away. You’ll also wipe out us Seven-Treasure Anura, your sworn enemy, and then you’ll be able to rule over the Blacklight Civilization. Your grandpa sees right through you!”
Huo erupted in a rage. Bastard!
It was pure nonsense, and yet Huo glared at Old Fourth. You’re courting death.
Hooked claws ripped through the void. The universe was split into four sections amidst a horrific tearing sensation.
Old Fourth wailed. I’m going to die! I’m really going to die!
Old Fifth, what the hell did you have me say?
Suddenly, the tearing sensation changed. The toad looked up to see that the tearing attack had suddenly shifted to aim at Lu Yin. In the distance, Lu Yin used one hand to shove Kui closer to Duan.
“Careful!” Old Fourth shouted.
Lu Yin felt it. It was a tearing sensation that brought about a feeling of pure terror that was powerful enough to nearly drown the world. Huo was attacking him.
It had actually decided to abandon Old Fourth, and it also clearly did not care whether Kui lived or died.
But none of that mattered. Lu Yin looked back as everything seemed to shatter into countless shards. This was Huo’s cosmic law. Lu Yin had never seen reality be ripped apart in such a manner. While thinking that, he teleported away.
The moment that Huo saw Lu Yin vanish, it immediately turned to look at Old First’s black sphere. There it is, and that red coffin is back again.
Up in the sky, the tearing attack enveloped Kui. With nowhere to flee, the Blacklight creature’s body was completely destroyed, a bloody pulp falling to the ground below.
Huo was not even the slightest bit concerned. Its body suddenly shrank, and the hooked claws pierced the void to grab at Lu Yin. Huo intended to personally deal with things.
With the red coffin above him, Lu Yin pushed against the black sphere with both hands, releasing every last bit of power that had been gathered by Extremes Must Be Reversed. Push.
At that same moment, Huo’s hooked claw smashed into the coffin, leaving a white mark. Even so, the coffin did not break. The second hooked claw fell, aiming for the exact same spot.
At the very last moment, Huo’s huge eyes darted to the side. Mister Mu had appeared, disguised to look exactly the same as Lu Yin.
Huo stared at Mister Mu. Another one of these strange creatures, and this one’s even an Immortal.
Mister Mu pressed both hands down. Suppress.
The cosmos was pressed down, and everything froze. The powerful suppression forced even Huo down towards the ground. Time and space started to flow, and to Huo, it seemed that time had accelerated.
This Immortal was very powerful.
Mister Mu had ambushed Huo, buying Lu Yin a split second.
Lu Yin heaved with all his might. The black sphere shuddered. Move! Get out of here!
Suddenly, he felt a spike of danger. Two hooked claws pierced the void to slam into the red coffin. Lu Yin was sent flying, coughing up blood.
Another Immortal appeared from the void. Black hexagonal plates danced about before abruptly contracting. Lu Yin was squarely within their range.
There were ninety-seven plates. This was a powerful expert.
So, they really did have a hidden expert.
Thankfully, Lu Yin had only pretended to release the power gathered with Extremes Must Be Reversed. He had merely been putting on a show. Otherwise, his efforts would have been wasted.
After all, Kui had already been eliminated, which meant that Lu Yin could no longer use the creature to quickly gather power.
He teleported away.
The newly arrived Blacklight creature was astonished. Just as Huo said, what kind of method is this?
But even if the unknown creature vanished, its goal remained the seal that imprisoned the Seven-Treasure Anura. As long as that seal was guarded, it would be enough.
High above, Huo swung both of its hooked claws down. The same tearing attack was used to slice through Mister Mu’s suppression. The man retreated, step by step, struggling to respond.
Huo linked two hooked claws together: Time-Space Annihilation Slash.
Mister Mu pointed a finger into the void: Origin Tracer. Layers of gray built up endlessly. It was the mighty power of time.
Huo tried to cut the temporal technique apart, but Mister Mu’s control allowed the power of time to accumulate with terrifying speed. Through his law of Dominion, Origin Tracer was able to endure Huo’s strike.
Huo’s eyes locked onto Mister Mu. Cosmic law: Rend.
Mister Mu abruptly vanished, only to reappear down on the ground with Lu Yin beside him.
“Now!” Mister Mu suppressed the entire universe. The void froze, and he pointed at the last Blacklight creature to appear. High above them, Huo tore apart the suppression once more, and a terrifying rending attack descended.
In front of the two humans, the newly arrived Blacklight creature also managed to shatter the suppression with its multiple plates. It then moved to expand the plates over a larger range in an attempt to imprison both Mister Mu and Lu Yin.
Lu Yin teleported away and then back. In but a moment, Old Fifth and Old Fourth were both above Huo’s head, releasing simultaneous attacks. “Waaah! Come!”
Huo had not expected the two toads to suddenly appear overhead. It had to turn to defend itself, redirecting the rending attack upward.
As that happened, Mister Mu held back the other Blacklight creature. Lu Yin teleported back to the black sphere yet again, and this time, he genuinely released the power that he had accumulated with Extremes Must Be Reversed to push the sphere.
The black sphere moved. The void itself tore with the movement, as though Lu Yin was pushing space itself aside.
The power that Lu Yin had gathered was monstrous. To take such force head-on, even Greater Sancte Awe Gate would be forced to fully release all thirty-five rifts and use her Heartrift power. Others, including even Greater Sancte Green Lotus, might not be able to directly handle the power, as Green Lotus did not specialize in physical strength.
It took a terrifying amount of power for Lu Yin to finally push the black sphere.
Mister Mu continued to keep the final Blacklight creature occupied.
Huo swept Old Fourth and Old Fifth away with one hooked claw while the other fell. It might not know what meaning there was in moving the seal, as everything imprisoned within the seal would move with it. However, since the unknown creature had spent such an enormous effort to move the seal, it had to be for something. That could not be permitted.
At best, Old Fourth and Old Fifth could divert one of Huo’s attacks, but they could not fully stop the powerful creature.
Fortunately, Mister Mu was also supporting Lu Yin.
While holding off the last of the Immortal Blacklight creatures, the man shoved his cauldron mirebound artifact to the side and upwards, ramming it into Huo’s hooked claw.
Bang!
The terrifying shockwave warped the void as Huo’s hooked claw was knocked back. It stared down in shock. What was that?
At that same moment, Lu Yin finished using every last bit of strength to shove the black sphere away. Where it had just stood was a Seven-Treasure Anura, wreathed in black qi. It was Old First.
Lu Yin looked at the toad shrouded in black qi. At first glance, Lu Yin felt as if he was about to be devoured, as though what had just appeared was not a Seven-Treasure Anura at all, but rather a devouring vortex.
“Old First!” Old Fourth and Old Fifth shouted excitedly.
Far away, Little Eighteen cried out, “Dad!”
One Seven-Treasure Anura after another trembled with excitement. Of the entire species, aside from Ancestor Shan, Old First was the strongest, and they similarly served as a pillar for the Seven-Treasure Anuras.
Most of the time, Ancestor Shan was unable to do anything, so whenever powerful enemies appeared, Old First would be the one who fought them, and they had never failed.
Old First breaking free of the seal electrified every Seven-Treasure Anura.
High in the sky, Huo’s eyes bulged. Impossible! How could they have broken free? The seal only shifted a little. This shouldn’t be possible.
The toad shrouded with black qi lifted their head to stare up at Huo, their lips peeling back. “I’ll devour you.”
With that, Old First sprang up, attacking with a hand. Huo met the attack with its hooked claws, but Old First grabbed those claws and forcefully ripped them off before hurling it right into a lake.
The toad then dove into the lake as well, and a battle ensued in the depths of the seven-colored lake.
“So fierce, Old First! Go! Kill it!” Old Fifth shouted excitedly.
Lu Yin could sense Old First’s ferocity. This creature was different from the other Seven-Treasure Anuras. For starters, they were entirely black, though that blackness was likely due to the cosmic law that Old First resonated with.
Even though Lu Yin had managed to move the seal, Old First’s escape was in large part due to the toad’s own strength.
Lu Yin was very curious, just what cosmic law did Old First resonate with?
In the distance, the black sphere that Lu Yin had pushed away suddenly broke apart, turning back into black hexagonal plates that instantly shot into the depths of the lake.
Lu Yin quickly grabbed one plate and tried to shatter it.
However, the plate proved to be astonishingly tough. No matter what Lu Yin tried, he could not damage it.
Still, as long as he kept even one plate occupied, the Ninety-Eight Seals could not be used, and that was enough.
In the depths of the lake, Huo and Old First fought. Blood rose to the surface. While Old First was a savage fighter, Huo was certainly no pushover, and Old First also suffered injuries.
Lu Yin’s gaze swept over the battlefield. He teleported, reappearing at Kui’s shattered remains.
