With a sudden yet casual wave of his hand, transparent coins appeared over Enigma's hand, which his shadowy body absorbed entirely, as if consuming them.

"Once you master all three, you will advance to a new Realm," Wasp said with a faint smile. "And when you do, speak with me again. I will show you the path forward."

"Well, thanks… I didn't expect that. Are you going to become my martial arts master or something?" I laughed.

"He certainly seems eager to," Doctor Frankenstein chuckled. "Alright, Enigma, I need two books from you. You already know which ones."

"Naturally, Doctor," Enigma replied, vanishing briefly before returning with two large, heavy books. "Here."

He placed two mysterious-looking books on the desk, one green, the other blue.

The first book displayed no images, only a title.

"The first book, Comprehending the Building Blocks of Matter and the Elements, will help you refine your understanding of the world and even the universe," he explained. "I know you can already perceive many things with your eyes but comprehending them is different. After all, if you don't understand what you see, there's little difference between seeing and being blind, right?"

"Right," I nodded. "And the second?"

"Alchemical Science Studies," he said. "It will enhance your ability to appraise and accurately identify any object, item, or even living being. Both books complement each other. Once fully mastered, your understanding of Medicine, Alchemy, and Science will soar. I planned to offer a few classes alongside them. How about it? I promise it won't be dull."

"Sure!" I said. "It's better than sitting around waiting for my aunt to arrive."

"Excellent. That will be 180 Contribution Points for both," Enigma said.

"Okay," I nodded, paying the price.

I felt that by learning from these, I could even grasp other Daos I had yet to master, such as the Dao of Alchemy or perhaps the Dao of Science. Does that one even exist?

"I'm next!" Medea said. "Enigma, dear, nice to meet you."

"It is nice to meet one of my apprentices as well, Medea," Enigma said. "I see that you got beaten not once but twice…"

"I'm sorry…" Medea apologized. "I couldn't really go all-out against the young lady."

"It's understandable. You've always wanted to have a child, right? You see her as your own?" Enigma asked.

"I… maybe," Medea said with a bitter smile.

"What do you need?" Enigma asked.

"I need a Grimoire and two Scrolls. Can you provide me with these?" Medea moved her hands, creating three different runes.

Enigma read them, quickly understanding what she meant and then disappeared.

Wait, she said he was her master?

And she earlier said all her masters were Demons.

So Enigma's a Demon!

Maybe.

For a Demon, he sure exudes no Demonic Aura at all. It is all strangely empty and not even ghostly or anything, there is just nothing.

In fact, I cannot even understand what's within him.

He must have a really potent concealment spell, one that not even a cosmic realm being of my caliber can pierce through.

Perhaps if I master this "Intent" that Wasp talked about, I could see through such invisible walls.

"Here they are. There were some left," Enigma said.

He brought three items with him: a dark purple book covered with black and red patches, with a single emblem imprinted on top resembling an eye crying blood, and then two scrolls.

The scrolls were made of black paper, and the runes were imprinted using blood… from something. I couldn't tell what it was at first glance.

"What are these?" I asked.

"The book is a Grimoire," explained Medea. "They are magic books with secrets behind magic, with magic imprinted on each page. As you read, it'll help you understand the book… if you're compatible with it. If not, they have various backlashes and side effects, but I am sure you can handle this. It's a book called the Abyssal Crimson Codex: Volume 1. It teaches the principles of the Primordial Chaos Path of Magic, the most forbidden in existence, alongside the Blood Path and Abyssal Shadow Path. I read this in my childhood, but I believe I lost that book long ago, or I would've gifted a copy myself."

"I see… that sounds really amazing," I said.

In Genesis, such books didn't exist at all. Chaos was almost a completely unknown element, after all. To be honest, most gods were preoccupied with anything but deepening their understanding of what they embodied, except for the Supremes, who had ample time to do as they pleased and were always in a league of their own.

"And these two Scrolls are magical garments embedded with runic inscriptions. You will first need to read that book to use them," she said. "The first Scroll is the Abyssal Chaos Mana Core Forging Scroll. It'll aid you in creating something like that, or perhaps even better. The second Scroll is the Primordial Abyss Magic Circuit Synthesizing Scroll. It will help you create Magic Circuits of immense power compatible with your primary elements. I know that from your mother, your primary elements are Illusion, Blood, and Darkness, correct? From your father, it's Chaos. So everything should be compatible."

"Oh, I believe they should be greatly compatible," I nodded.

"These are more expensive," Enigma said. "One-time-use magic items like these don't go for cheap, Medea. This grimoire alone, just Volume 1, costs 300 Contribution Points. The two scrolls go for 200 each. The girl doesn't have enough points to get everything, even with my discount."
