Chapter 3799: Sudden Visit
"Already?!" Rean was taken aback. "We took several hours to get here. How did they arrive so fast?"
Roan wasn’t as surprised. "We took several hours to get here, but we were moving with care in case something happened. They most likely are throwing caution to the wind and coming here as fast as they can. This is just the start. Even more of them will notice the Dark Purple Area disappeared and will enter."
Erxando could see that. "You don’t understand. We are forced to stay locked in this place forever. We Level Three Umbras now and then go out of the Umbral Field, hoping to be lucky enough to catch someone opening a Spatial Gate. We just don’t want to be here anymore, since once we reach the time limit, we will also lose control of ourselves and plunge into the Constructor Orbs."
He continued. "The Dark Purple Light just disappeared, so try to guess what all Umbras outside this area are thinking. They are relying on the smallest chance that this place has a way out somehow. I would have done the exact same thing and charged ahead."
Fortunately, the twins’ Divine Senses could go further than Erxando and Xian’s Umbra detection abilities. The Umbras on the way likely haven’t felt the two yet.
Celis and Foliana quickly returned to the Dimensional Realm, leaving Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and the two Umbras behind.
"What now?" Kentucky asked.
Rean and Roan landed on his back, speaking the obvious. "What else? We are leaving this place. Kentucky, full speed ahead!"
Xian covered Rean, Roan, and Kentucky’s bodies while the twins caught Erxando so he could be pulled together.
Finally, Kentucky opened its wings, flapping them and shooting in the opposite direction. A single Level Three Umbra was already a huge enemy for the twins’ group, let alone several of them. They couldn’t stay here anymore.
Several minutes later, the first Umbras arrived where the Octahedron Core was located. That was essentially the only thing in this place, and the Umbras had been in the Umbral Field for such a long time that they could precisely determine the direction to get here, even though they had never visited this place before.
If the twins’ group were here, they would have recognized one of them straight away. It was Renkan, the first Umbra they met after ’recruiting’ Erxando.
"What is this thing?" Renkan looked closely.
Let’s not forget that the Octahedron’s shell was made of some kind of material that looked like glass or crystal. After Rean opened a gap, Sister Orb used it, and the Celestial Soul System absorbed all its energy, along with the corrupted system shard. However, the shell, or husk, remained. That’s what Renkan was looking at the moment.
Together with him were Ranwrui, Vravrin, and Gidui, the three Umbras he allied himself with to pursue Erxando. Yet, those four Umbras weren’t the only ones. There was one more Umbra this time.
"Whatever it was, it is now empty." Her name was Danra, the Umbra Renkan called ’old hag.’ Of course, he didn’t say it to her.
"I told you Erxando was up to something!" Renkan couldn’t help but exclaim. "Danra, that’s why I brought you here. The initial plan was to ambush Erxando once he came out of the Dark Purple Area, but now things have changed. Can you tell where he has gone?"
Danra nodded and stepped away from the Octahedron Husk. "Give me a second."
Following that, thousands of runes began to be drawn in the empty space as Danra concentrated her Shadow Energy to create them. The reason Renkan asked her to come was that she knew a detection technique that could be used even against Umbras.
Over the years, she adapted that technique, which was originally something from her memory fragments. Thanks to that, she could be said to be one of the hardest Umbras to kill in the Umbral Field. After all, her technique alerted her about other Umbras’ presences way before they got close enough to feel her.
The runes then began to shime like bells, and a dark energy floated out, creating a dark mist in the surroundings. This technique’s color wasn’t initially dark, but gray instead. It only became dark after she changed it to work on Umbras.
The mist then changed shape, spreading in the surroundings. Danra’s technique was indeed excellent, and it could detect the remnant energies of any Umbra as long as a significant amount of time had not passed. Its detection range was even better, covering tens of thousands of kilometers. If there was a downside, it was the fact that she had to stay still to utilize it.
In the end, the mist concentrated near the Octahedron Husk before it formed a line in a specific direction. "There you go. Erxando and this Level One Umbra were here just a few minutes ago, and they left in that direction."
Renkan and the others were pleased to hear the news. "Since they left only a few minutes ago, it means they must have spent quite a bit of time here. Whatever Erxando is planning, we need to catch him. Perhaps he has truly found a way to escape from this place."
"We have company," Vravrin spoke, and as soon as he said that, everyone else felt it—the presence of other Umbras approaching. There weren’t many Umbras near the Dark Purple Area, but it wasn’t empty, and these few Umbras were coming their way now.
"Let’s get out of here before they start creating trouble," Danra said, preparing to fly after the twins’ group.
However, it was at that moment that things changed.
*Crack, crack, crack...*
*Shatter!*
Just a few tens of meters away, a Spatial Gate opened!
Renkan and the others looked at that, finding it hard to believe a Spatial Gate would appear right in front of them, so much so that they failed to react for a second. Wasn’t that the sole reason they were pursuing Erxando, so they could find a way out of the fabric of space and go to the real world? They obviously knew about the Spatial Gates, but they could only be opened from outside, not the other way around.
"DON’T LET IT CLOSE!"
Their group immediately gave up on going after Erxando. That Spatial Gate was definitely the best opportunity they ever had! Without thinking twice, they threw themselves at it, afraid it could close at any moment! They had to cross it straightaway!
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned.
*Rumble!*
Powerful Celestial Laws of Fire came from inside, eclipsing what any of these five Umbras could ever hope to achieve combined. Renkan and the others didn’t even have the time to change their thoughts before those Celestial Laws gathered around them, incinerating everything.
*Arrrghhh!*
Those five tried to use their own Celestial Laws, but it was useless. Their ’borrowed’ comprehension of Celestial Laws was nothing in front of those, and they were destroyed in an instant. Those Umbras truly had no chance to do anything, being easily caught.
They weren’t killed, though. Those Celestial Laws of Fire only damaged them and made sure they couldn’t escape. Then, from inside the Spatial Gate, a fiery red Spirit stepped out, looking more like a fireball with a face. Its expression was terrible as it looked at the Octahedron Husk.
His name was Kunprio, the Universe D33 Owner and a real Celestial Realm Expert!
