Chapter 3988: As Expected
Roan found the Qufis Alliance Group on the northwest side of the Future Realm, all of them inside a protection formation as they cultivated.
Roan’s eyes then focused on a woman floating above them all, her eyes could as she absorbed the Divine Origin Energy of the surroundings. Just by feeling her Divine Sense alone, Roan knew she was one of the two Divinity Realm Initial Stage experts from Qufis.
The woman opened her eyes, noticing Roan, Celis, and Tanxan’s approach. Of course, they had their different appearances still, the same ones from when they joined that alliance.
Passing an order below, she had the protection formation opened, allowing Roan’s group to get in. Only then did the woman come down, her expression not very good. "You kept ignoring our orders for over three years. Is this a joke to you?"
Her name was Zonhime, a human.
The Space-Time Realm experts behind her looked just as angry. However, Roan and the others couldn’t care less. "Hmph! We are here, aren’t we? Besides, our Runia Continent group is making sure to keep your kids under its wings, even if we didn’t manage to get many of our experts inside. If anything, we should be the ones asking for you to help us as well."
"And how the hell would we do that if you keep refusing to join our group?" Zonhime asked back.
"That’s the point," Celis commented. "Since we are protecting your kids within our ranks, and we didn’t ask you for help, you should actually feel happy for that. Yet, you kept complaining that we weren’t here. Do you see the problem?"
"Besides," Tanxan added, "you don’t want to protect us. It is the fact that we are Space-Time Realm experts that makes you want us to be here. As far as we can see, it is all us who are helping you, not the other way around."
"Enough complaining," Zonhime couldn’t give them a proper answer. "Will you help or not?"
"That’s why we are here," Roan said.
Zonhime nodded. "Good! However..." she also noticed there were only three of them there. "Where are the others? I’m well aware that all six of you made it through the Storm Wall, but I’m only seeing three at the moment."
"The others have their own plans, and we might end up swapping positions as time goes on." Roan obviously wouldn’t tell what they were doing. "You have no right to complain about our arrangement here. You all know very well that you never expect all six of us to make it through the wall, so getting three of us to help is already more than you could wish for."
Someone approached Zonhime, showing her a message on her CD. She was angry, especially since Roan, Tanxan, and Celis kept acting brazenly even though she was in the Divinity Realm. However, seeing the message, she could only comply. "Seems like your academy reached an agreement with our Qufis Alliance. They agreed to have only three of you with us at all times. You were correct; none of us thought all six could make it through. If only one had done that, it would have been good enough. So, three guys will suffice."
Zonhime then floated upwards again. "Stay in the protection formation, cultivate, do whatever you want, but stay in sight. If something happens, I’ll let you know." Then, she returned to her position and restarted her cultivation and comprehension of laws.
Roan’s group didn’t mind. They simply moved to a corner of that formation and stayed there. Since there wasn’t much to do, they also started to cultivate, especially Celis. Of course, they also kept an eye out.
"Counting ourselves, there are only seven Space-Time Realm Experts," Roan analyzed the Qufis Alliance. Yet, they have forty-two Elemental Space and almost a hundred Space-Bending Realm experts. The number is very disproportionate."
Tanxan noticed the same. "They traded a few Space-Time Realm slots for us, but that doesn’t explain the difference in numbers between realms. They either had a bunch of their Space-Time Realm experts dying, or many of them didn’t manage to get through the wall in the first place."
"There are also those who aren’t here at the moment," Celis pointed out. "Do you remember? There were supposed to be two Divinity Realm Experts from Qufis in the Future Realm, but we only saw Zonhime so far. They might not be on protection duty, or maybe they are roaming around, looking for the rare resources of this realm."
"In any case, it is a fact they have way less Space-Time Realm Experts than they expected to have," Roan continued. "Since they insisted this much to have us come, chances are they are being targeted. Well, I guess we will find out soon."
---
Somewhere else, Rean just opened a Spatial Gate, waiting for another drifting Time Plate to enter the Dimensional Realm. Once it was inside, Rean asked Sister Orb about the conditions.
’So, how is it? Do they create stable laws inside our Dimensional Realm?’
[It has always been stable,] Sister Orb answered. [Time outside is accelerated over a hundred times, but it is different inside. Time in here is still moving normally. So, even if these Time Plates are making stable laws, I can’t tell. We would need to accelerate the Dimensional Realm as well, and that won’t happen anytime soon.]
’Hum...’ Rean pondered a bit. ’It is not like I can’t build a Time Accelerating Formation. It isn’t all that hard with the resources we have now. It’s just that we never had a need for it. But, if these plates can make the law stable within my formation, they might actually be a great acquisition.’
[Would that be, I wonder.] Sister Orb wasn’t so sure. [Don’t forget these are still part of the Chronoblade Serpent’s body. You are basically saying you want to keep part of his body for yourself. I don’t think he will like the idea very much.]
’Oh... there is that indeed...’ Rean sighed in disappointment. ’Oh well, we already comprehended all the laws anyway. The only ones who could make use of it are Tanxan and Foliana, and they will be leaving once this Future Realm thing is over. Oh well, forget it.’
"Rean, there is another plate coming," Foliana suddenly called Rean’s attention.
Rean looked over and saw the plate in the distance. "Good, the plates in this place were quite close to each other. That helps."
---
Things continued without any problems for Rean, Foliana, and Kentucky. Yet, Roan’s group wasn’t as fortunate. Just three weeks after he joined the Qufis Alliance, someone did indeed appear to cause trouble.
Roan, Celis, and Tanxan were inside the formation, looking at a group with almost twice the number of experts outside. "Sure enough, they were being targeted."
