Chapter 4021: No Such Power
Vuccu then looked at the Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and Celis. "You are the ones who benefited the most from these resources. Perhaps it was one of you who managed to find out about the various resources and veins’ locations?"
Normally, there was a way to make an easy excuse for that. They had Celis, a World Swallowing Cedar. They could say that Celis’s innate ability towards energy was what they used to find the location of all those resources.
However, Celis was also pretending to be from some other race of Demon Plants, a Manchineel Tree. It was a highly poisonous tree that fit Celis’s fake abilities. Celis was using Roan’s poison, after all. Too bad that the Manchineel Tree didn’t have any relation to the World Swallowing Cedars. Saying that Celis found the resources would be a big joke.
Tanxan and Foliana’s minds worked nonstop. Yet, just as they were about to say something, Rean raised his hand behind. "Lana, Groyin, it is fine. I’ll tell him everything. I was the one who created it. You don’t need to worry."
Foliana and Tanxan were taken aback. Was Rean going to talk about the Chronoblade Serpent? No, wait! Created it? Created what?
Of course, Rean had no intention of doing such a thing. Instead, he pulled out a device from the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. "This is the method we were using to find the resources, Senior Vuccu."
Vuccu narrowed his eyes, using his Celestial Energy to push Foliana and Tanxan back while pulling Rean close to himself. He looked at the device, which had a small screen and resembled a large pocket watch.
Vuccu took it and saw what seemed to be a map of the surrounding several thousand kilometers. "Are you saying you used this thing to find the deposits of Divine Stones and Divine Veins?" His eyes turned back to Rean. "The formations in place here in the Future Realm were made so that detection of Divine Energy Signatures was pretty much impossible. No device should be able to peer past their disturbances."
Rean scratched the back of his head. "Yes, the senior is right. It would be very hard to get any readings towards Divine Energy. However, there is one thing the various formations in the Future Realm don’t mess with: those drifting plates."
Except for Roan, the rest of the twins’ group looked at Rean, confused. What device was that? Did it really have such capacity? How come they didn’t know it existed?
Vuccu narrowed his eyes, looking into the distance and seeing a few of those Time Plates floating. There wasn’t anything wrong with them. "You found a way of using those things to locate the resources? How? Who taught you how to do it?"
"First, no one taught me anything. I’m a pretty accomplished Formations Master, especially with Circuitry Formation Runes," Rean explained. "As for how, is it okay if I speak in front of everyone? At the moment, I’m truly the only one who knows how to build it."
Vuccu looked around, waving his hand and his laws making everything go silent. Other than Rean, no one could hear what they were talking about anymore. "Go ahead."
Rean had the whole excuse prepared already. "The Drifting Plates can go everywhere, the air, the ground, underground, etc. Nothing can stop them from drifting, as if they are ghosts. The first thing I did was to research them while I was outside, way, way before I entered the Future Realm. Then, once we arrived in the Future Realm, I started to work on it."
"As senior knows, the plates always show different futures inside them, which means they are bound by the time laws and power. I don’t know how they show those different futures, but it doesn’t matter for what I used them for. This device in your hands uses the disturbances caused by those plates as they move underground to do its readings. When they pass close to any major sources of concentrated Divine Origin Energy, subtle changes occur in the disturbances in the time power surrounding the plates. That’s what my device can detect."
Rean extended his hand and touched a few buttons on the screen while Vuccu held it, zooming out the map. Many red dots were moving very slowly, to the point that it was hard to tell if they were moving at all. That device’s screen was pretty small, after all.
Vuccu paid close attention to it. With his Divine Sense, he could tell that the positions of those red dots matched all the Time Plates he could feel. While Vuccu still held the device, Rean ran the screen over a specific red dot and zoomed in. Now that the image was very close, the red dot’s movement was clearly visible. Above all, Vuccu could see that the red dot was behaving strangely.
"There is definitely some source of Concentrated Divine Energy in there," Rean said. Then, he zoomed in on other red dots, but they didn’t show any strange behaviors. Finally, a few thousand kilometers in another direction, there was another red dot showing a different type of behavior. "The Divine Energy source this one is passing through is definitely bigger."
Vuccu was quite surprised. Then, he grabbed Rean with his Divine Energy, retracting his Celestial Laws. The completely silent and still environment returned to normal. "Zonhime, is it?"
Zonhime quickly bowed. "Yes, senior. How can I help?"
Vuccu nodded. "I’m taking this guy with me for a moment. Will that be a problem?"
Zonhime obviously wouldn’t be against it. "Definitely not, senior. Fani, make sure to tell everything Senior Vuccu wants to know."
Fani being Rean’s alias. "Yes, Senior Zonhime. I was already intending to do it anyway."
Then, Rean and Vuccu disappeared from the site. Zonhime couldn’t help but sigh in relief, turning to Roan and the others. "I’m sorry, but I couldn’t possibly go against the orders of a member of the Tombassin Sect."
Roan waved his hand. "It is fine. We also have to apologize for not informing you about that device. I believe you understand why we kept its existence hidden."
Zonhime obviously knew. If others found out about that device, pretty much all powers of the Future Realm would come and knock on their door. That had to be avoided at all costs. "Do you guys also have that device?"
Roan shook his head in response. "Only Fani knows how to build and use them. That’s why you always saw him going out to look for resources instead of me."
Zonhime wouldn’t simply believe it, but she couldn’t accuse them here either. The Future Realm would be closing soon, too. So, whatever she wanted to check would have to wait until they were out.
Following that, she warned the rest of the Qufis Alliance. "You’d better not say a word to anyone, even your parents and children. I think I don’t need to tell you what will happen if the Tombassin Sect decides we spoke too much."
Roney and the others felt a chill on their backs. Yes, that information about Rean’s device was valuable, but that obviously put the Tombassin and the Werdlem Empire on their tails. No one was idiotic enough to antagonize those two. Both have the power to completely cut them all out of the Cultivation Energies of the world, regardless of where they are in the Universe or the whole Werdlem Empire. There was no hiding, and such an outcome would spell the end of their cultivation path forever. What they heard here today will definitely die with them. Not even the Qufis Alliance would ever be informed about it.
As Zonhime warned everyone, Foliana and the others couldn’t help but look at Roan, asking through Divine Sense. ’How come we didn’t know about that device’s existence and capability?’
’Ha! What capability?’ Roan snorted in response. ’That shit has no such power.’
