Chapter 4526: Predator! IV
The Infinite Unfurling had to be one of the most unique places that Noah had ever been in.
One of the more striking characteristics was how there was nothing weak existing in this place. Truly nothing weak could survive the ambient pressure and dangers that permeated every corner.
An hour passed as he moved through the mountainous landscape that he found himself in, surrounded by rolling mists that obscured vision and created an atmosphere of perpetual twilight. He effectively mapped out the region and cataloged what could be lying within its boundaries.
In the surrounding Gigaparsecs, he was actually able to discover multiple entities ranging from Upper Nonillions to Decillions in Complexity and Purity. Each one followed their own unique Way of existence, carving out territories where they hunted and grew stronger.
He tested his concealment by observing them closely and even entering the perimeter of a few light-years near them.
Gloriously, none of them could sense his presence at all!
If he went too close and his ambient integration wore off from proximity to their concentrated authorities, they might detect the disturbance. But for now, he had left them alone while continuing to scout the region.
Within the surrounding Gigaparsecs, his figure could not be observed by others as he moved with purpose. He traveled rapidly like a flicker that was almost impossible to track.
No, even comparing his movement to light was not accurate enough. It should be more precise to say that he was moving around like a flicker of tachyons, like a set of particles that traveled unfathomably faster than light itself through the fabric of reality.
And after he continued to scour this entire region methodically and confirmed that he could not sense any visible power at the level of THE, he felt reasonably secure. Even though if such a being was present and they hid their aura similar to how Tor concealed his presence, Noah would not really be able to sense them anyway.
But after cautiously mapping this entire place with systematic precision, there was no signature of any THE entities apart from the creatures that he had marked.
After all of this was confirmed through careful observation, he appeared a few light-years away from one of his first targets.
It was a creature that was chewing on the bones of another entity it had recently killed. Its body was surrounded by crackling arcs of purple lightning that danced across its form in chaotic patterns.
The creature looked like a massive salamander, easily the size of several mountains. Its body was covered with jutting sharp crystals all over its surface that refracted the lightning into prismatic displays.
It was another entity following the Way of Lightning, its power stabilized at 955 Nonillions of Complexity and Purity.
Noah looked at it from his concealed position as his eyes pulsed with calculating tyranny. His method of attacking had to change somewhat from what he had done with Tor’s protection.
He needed the battles to be quick and seamless. The longer he spent in conflict, smashing around the environment and destroying mountains while fighting, the more risks he took. The more chances there were for other entities to be drawn to the commotion.
So he asked himself a critical question: Could he not skip all the booming impacts between his Way and the Way of his enemy? Could he simply settle everything in a single strike, as long as this strike made the outcome of whose Way was stronger absolutely clear?
With this tactical consideration in mind, he breathed out slowly and raised his left hand toward the enemy that he intended to kill.
His Primus Mana could become anything he desired. He had a vast array of offensive capabilities under his belt after devouring multiple Sovereignties.
Utilizing Nonillions of Primordial Fireballs and condensing them into concentrated points of his Way was one method of attack. He had used it frequently because he was most familiar with that approach.
But he had endless variations available because his Primus Mana could accomplish everything he conceived. He could design new Mana Arcana Glyphs at any time to suit any situation.
When he thought about an attack from long range that could potentially snipe an enemy and decimate them in a single strike without giving them time to react or defend...
He smiled with cold satisfaction.
In the next moment, he felt THE Organ of Civilization in his brain buzz with activation. An Unquantifiable Unit of Everything was consumed as fuel, and his existence flared up like a newborn star being born!
His outstretched left hand began to buzz with concentrated poisonous verdant light. His Way of Mana and Hunger, currently expressed through the mimicry of the Way of Poison, formed into an incandescent virulent green compound bow!
The weapon materialized with perfect balance and deadly intent, composed entirely of compressed authority.
And with his right hand, he pulled back on the bow strings with smooth motion. A terrifying arrow began to form between his fingers as he filled it with endless seas of his Way of existence.
As he drew the string back further and further, he whispered silently to himself with absolute certainty.
"Mana is the foundation of all change in existence," he said with analytical precision. "For any sparks of lightning to form, they need Mana at their foundation to provide the energy for that manifestation."
His eyes gleamed with tyrannical confidence.
"So if I deem that lightning is unable to stop my Mana, if I declare that my Way supersedes the authority of electrical discharge, then it simply cannot resist!"
The arrow that was forming shone with an even more intense green light as he spoke these words. His Civilizational Authority of Mana and Hunger was pumped into this single arrow endlessly.
He meant for it to take the life of an extremely powerful enemy by collapsing what their Way stood for. By proving in a single shot that his Way superseded theirs in quality and depth.
And so he endlessly poured even more and more of his infinite waves of authority into the forming projectile. He knew the moment he released it, his ambient integration would be disrupted and fall away.
His invisibility would vanish.
And the very instant that happened, the enemy also needed to be dead before they could react or call for help.
Noah breathed in deeply, gathering his focus to a single point.
And then...
SAA!
He released the arrow with perfect form!
His figure flashed into existence as he lost his invisibility, becoming visible for the first time in over an hour. The distant enemy he was targeting raised its head instinctively to sense what had just appeared in its territory.
But the moment its gaze came up to focus on the disturbance, it saw a virulent green arrow right in front of its face!
All of it happened in the span of an instant that was almost too fast to perceive!
The eyes of the creature pulsing with purple lightning barely registered the terrifying verdant arrow before its Way innately erupted outward. A defensive storm of lightning formed around it automatically, responding to the threat.
But the arrow arrived with inexorable purpose.
BOOM!
A terrifying impact rocked the surrounding space with devastating force! Existence in that area was instantly turned a virulent green color for several light-years in every direction!
One could barely see a flicker of purple lightning seeking to erupt and fight back amidst that explosion of poisonous authority. But the Way of Lightning was drowned out completely by the immense expression of Mana and Hunger!
The seas of concentrated authority made it very clear that this Way was much grander in quality and immensity than the Way of Lightning could ever hope to match.
Lightning never stood a chance against the fundamental nature of Mana asserting dominance.
After the explosion faded, there were no roars of defiance or the eruption of more defensive authorities. Only an apocalyptic scene where existence itself in the nearby area seemed to have been poisoned at a fundamental level.
When one looked at the epicenter, they could see the corpse of the massive salamander. Its body still flickered weakly with residual lightning that was fading rapidly.
Its head had been completely pulverized and melted by the impact. The skull was fizzing out of existence as the authority holding it together collapsed.
Its weavings and Way had actually been collapsed entirely by the single strike!
Noah gazed at such a scene in the distance with eyes shining with analytical satisfaction. He lowered the bow and it disappeared into a flicker of brilliance, dissolving back into formless Mana.
He took a single step through compressed space to appear beside the corpse of the salamander. He waved his hand toward it and the entire massive body disappeared into his storage.
And he disappeared right after as well, reintegrating with the surrounding atmosphere and leaving the scene of a glorious kill behind!
In less than a picosecond of actual combat time, he had decimated a creature seeking to advance toward Pre-THE status. He had stored its body for later consumption and left the scene without leaving traces apart from poison painting the surroundings!
