Chapter 4525: Predator! III
Noah felt the space around him stabilize as the forced transportation neared its conclusion.
The reality that settled in his mind was a heavy one, but his eyes flashed with tyranny as he processed it!
Alone in the Infinite Unfurling, without protection from Tor, without guidance or direction from anyone who understood this place.
But so what?
He was always alone when it truly mattered.
He had awakened alone in a world of dungeons and monsters. He had entered those dungeons alone while others formed parties and sought safety in numbers. He had traveled across worlds alone, making allies when convenient but never depending on them for survival.
This would simply be another time he was alone, another situation where he needed to use everything he held to survive and thrive!
Space distorted and twisted all around him as the final layer of compression broke apart with a sound like shattering glass!
And he materialized in an unknown region, immediately extending his senses outward to catalog his new surroundings while simultaneously suppressing his aura to minimal detectable levels.
He had appeared in a region dominated by vast mountainous landscape that stretched in all directions.
Roiling mist obscured much of the terrain, filtering through impossibly tall trees whose trunks were wider than cities. The mist moved with purpose rather than randomly, as if it possessed some form of awareness.
In the atmosphere above, he could see floating mountains spinning slowly in defiance of gravity. Radiant white mist held them aloft, flowing around their bases like rivers of cloud given structure and purpose.
The entire region felt extremely ancient and old. The very air carried weight that spoke of eons passing.
Noah breathed in deeply, tasting the authority-saturated atmosphere as he thought analytically about how he should proceed from this point.
Tor could find him again in a matter of hours or days depending on the outcome of the battle, but he would not be dependent on that possibility. He needed to make his own moves, forge his own path forward.
One’s Way of existence could not be properly forged by holding the hand of another and being fed everything like a child. Struggle was an integral part of existence, and he would not shy away from it now.
He closed his eyes and felt the absence of the scorching flames that had been burning across his body for so long. In their place, he sensed the faint barrier of Hunger that wrapped all around him like invisible armor.
A moment later, his eyes opened with a light of tyranny and sharpness as everything was decided in his mind.
He was effectively being hunted by multiple Pre-THE Existences who possessed terrifying power. There was also an entity proficient in Time, someone who was uniquely not THE Living Temporal, actively hunting him due to his impossible appearance here.
She had said how he was an impossibility, how he should not be able to exist in this time period.
But who the hell was she to decide where he could and could not appear?
If anyone sat down and looked at the situation objectively to ask how Noah was able to traverse to a time before The Earliest Folds even solidified, they would also deem it an absolute impossibility. And yet his Early Atlas of the Folds had made it a possibility through its unique features.
His THE Organ of Civilization had taken things even further, powering a journey that should have been beyond the realm of feasibility.
Since these were his tools of impossibility, he had to continue forging them and pushing their capabilities even further. His aim now was clear: continue hunting entities that were trying to forge their Sovereignties, just like him.
All the while, he would protect himself to ensure that if he came across someone significantly stronger, he would not be collapsed. Nor would he give up the usage of the barrier of Hunger wrapping around him too quickly or wastefully.
With all of this crystallized in his mind, Noah looked down at himself as he considered his first course of action.
To throw off those hunting him if they ever came close to finding his location, he needed to change what they had already seen and would be searching for.
"Mana burns behind countless Sovereignties as the foundation," he said with certainty. "Since I have devoured the Sovereignties of Poison, Fire, and Mass, I could easily depict them if I chose to."
After he spoke these words, his body began to change with purposeful transformation.
He became more sizable, his frame expanding as he took on the form of a massive Early Creature. His skin shifted and changed texture as it became surrounded by transforming blue-gold rivers of Primus Mana.
Those brilliant rivers quickly morphed into virulent green rivers of concentrated poison that flowed across his body like living tattoos!
The brilliant allure of his Way of Mana and Hunger rapidly transformed across his entire existence. In a short period of time, his appearance changed completely.
His body now stood massive and imposing, easily three times his normal height. He was adorned in an archaic verdant chiton that looked like it had been woven from toxic plants that pulsed with lethal authority.
His hair became wild and flowing, pulsing with poisonous green light that cast shadows across his transformed features. His eyes burned with the same toxic luminescence, appearing like pools of concentrated venom.
His entire form became completely surrounded by virulent green rivers of poison that flowed and coiled around him like serpents. He emanated nothing else but the Way of Poison in every aspect of his being!
This was his Way! His Civilization! As the foundation of countless things, he could transform it to become anything he needed it to be!
Prompts flashed before his vision with confirmation.
Your understanding of Mana as foundational authority has deepened significantly.
You can now convincingly mimic any Sovereignty you have fully consumed and integrated.
Current Available Mimicry: Poison, Fire, Mass, Living Existential Authorities(Limited)...
Mimicry Quality: Indistinguishable from genuine Sovereignty to entities below THE scale.
This capability demonstrates profound understanding of your Way’s versatility.
After this transformation was complete, Noah stretched his new form experimentally and went even further with his preparations.
"Mana is synonymous with the surrounding environment," he said with cold calculation. "Ambient Mana covers everything in existence. When I move, my aura and brilliance will be no different from the surrounding environment itself."
His eyes flashed with tyranny.
"As if I am simply seas of ambient authority flowing from one place to another, completely unremarkable!"
After these words were spoken, a glorious phenomenon began to occur around his transformed body.
Noah began to fade away from observable perception, his figure slowly melding with the atmosphere itself. The poisonous green rivers that wrapped around him became indistinguishable from ambient authority in the air.
His form blurred and became translucent, then transparent, until he entirely became something that was not capable of being perceived as separate from the environment!
He had become invisible not through visual manipulation, but by making himself fundamentally indistinguishable from the background authority that permeated all of existence.
More prompts flashed before him with details of this unique state.
You have entered a state of environmental synchronization.
Detection Difficulty: Entities below Pre-THE existence cannot sense your presence at all.
Detection Difficulty: Pre-THE existences must be extremely attuned to environmental authorities AND actively searching the specific region you occupy to sense disturbances.
Detection Difficulty: THE entities can still perceive you if they focus their Sovereignty on your location.
Duration: Indefinite as long as you maintain focus and do not release overwhelming authority.
Warning: Engaging in combat will disrupt this state.
This represents masterful control over your Way’s expression.
After entering a state where he could move without being perceived by the vast majority of entities, where he was basically camouflaged and invisible to all but the most perceptive hunters, Noah nodded with satisfaction at the completion of his preparations.
He looked out at the expanse of brilliance all around him, at the ancient trees and floating mountains and authority-thick mist, and began to move forward with purpose.
Concealment was accomplished. Now it was time to hunt and advance his Way even further.
He had to use all the time available to him in the Infinite Unfurling while grasping and understanding its deepest secrets. Every moment here was an opportunity that entities in his era would kill for.
Because the one thing he truly needed to understand was the fate of all the powerful THE entities and Pre-THE Existences that clearly populated this time period. How was it that only THE Creature and THE Living Existences were known and prevalent in his era?
Just what had happened in the Infinite Unfurling to reduce this vast population of powers to such a small number?
There were many questions and mysteries swirling in his mind, but this particular enigma demanded answers!
With this goal crystallized in his thoughts, he looked at the endless expanse of mist and ancient landscape all around him as he began to move with predatory grace.
He was no longer the prey being hunted.
He was a predator on the hunt, seeking to devour and grow stronger with each encounter!
