Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4944: Countable Uncountable Absolute! I

Chapter 4944: Countable, Uncountable, Absolute! I

Existence was vast, and they had been stumbling in the darkness for eons.

The words were heavy ones as Noah took some time to think about all of them. His golden Absolute Effigy burned steadily in the multicolored stellar space that THE Creature had created around them, the flames of Undifferentiated Fate pulsing with rhythms that matched his contemplation.

Especially the words about how all existences were barely using even one percent of what their very existence was capable of.

One percent of what exactly?

He looked up at the Absolute Effigy of THE Creature, about to ask this question when he saw the calm and noble air of this being.

Noah knew even if he asked, THE Creature would talk about how he didn’t want to do the disservice of spoiling things.

But his words did allow for contemplation even if Noah asked him for no help on anything. His adversity was his, and THE Creature’s adversity was his own. They walked separate paths that might converge eventually, but for now, they remained distinct.

So instead, he asked something else.

"How was your Foundation at the level of Absolute?"

...!

Foundation!

He was curious about this. The concept had been circling in his mind since he’d achieved Absolute with his separated bodies, since he’d felt the difference between his foundations and what others might possess at similar Depths. After he asked, THE Creature had a pondering look.

Then he spoke with weight that pressed against the stellar space around them.

"Foundation at the First Scale of Existence is everything. It is not merely a measurement of current power. It is the breadth of what your power can become when you step beyond."

His noble features held something that might have been regret.

"Imagine two beings who both achieve THE Second Scale. Both have crossed that threshold. Both stand at heights that most existences cannot comprehend. And yet, depending on whether one had an astounding Foundation before that crossing, the difference between them becomes..."

He paused, searching for words adequate to the concept.

"One could look at the other on that same Scale, peer at them from equivalent classification, and yet break them with a flick of their thumb. The Foundation built before advancement determines the vastness of what that advancement produces. It is the seed from which the tree grows. A larger seed produces a larger tree, even when both trees receive identical sunlight."

His multicolored eyes fixed on Noah with intensity.

"Foundation is that pivotal before you can proceed ahead. It is not merely important. It is the determining factor of everything that comes after."

THE Creature’s flames dimmed slightly.

"Mine was merely sufficient. But I am still not happy with it. Because of that, I am doing some things to rectify it. Even now, even at the heights I have reached, I work to improve what I built before those heights were achieved. The Foundation never stops mattering. Never."

...!

His was merely sufficient!

THE Creature, this ancient being whose Absolute Effigy matched Noah’s own in size, whose existence had shaped Observable Existence since before most beings knew what existence meant, considered his Foundation merely sufficient?

"..."

There were countless paths that one could take in existence. Countless ways to measure progress and achievement. Countless methodologies for understanding where one stood in relation to others.

At this moment, Noah was about to gaze at THE Creature to get a gauge on his comparative Depth at the level of Absolute. He had done this for Surface, Intermediate, and Fundamental Depths. He had measured himself against THE Primordial Paradox, against the baselines that Observable Existence provided, against frameworks that allowed him to understand his position relative to others.

He was about to now get a gauge of THE Creature, to also see how different it was between him and THE Primordial Paradox, to understand truly where he stood among the greatest beings in Observable Existence.

But for some odd reason, he felt his existence resisting this.

As if his Infinite Formless Depth inherently didn’t want to do this.

Noah paused momentarily, his golden flames flickering with uncertainty that lasted only a fraction of a second. Then he listened to this thought. Because he always listened to his intuition. It had guided him through dangers that logic couldn’t navigate. It had warned him of threats that conscious analysis missed. It had led him to opportunities that deliberate searching never found.

And the moment he began thinking more and more about this resistance, his eyes began to brighten up!

As if he had been undergoing yet another epiphany!

Other people could have a hard time grasping the allure of profundities and epiphanies. They struggled for eons to achieve single moments of clarity. They fought against their own limitations just to glimpse understanding that exceeded their current state.

And yet, for Noah, it seemed that whenever he was in a unique state of mind, they continued to come and come endlessly.

Almost as if there was the allure of Infinity that bloomed countless possibilities inside of him.

Almost as if!

But for his epiphany, the realization that was crystallizing in his consciousness with weight that exceeded mere thought...

He had long established that his Infinite Formless Depth was far different from anyone else. He knew comparisons were only there as a point of reference for him to gauge how much grander he was compared to others.

How much grander he was.

"..."

His own ego. His own mentality. That good feeling that he felt every time he saw the number in front of his Foundation say ten times more than this legendary being, or twenty times more immense of a Foundation than that legendary being.

The sense of accomplishment while knowing this was nice!

But...

He decided at this time that there would be no more point of comparison for Surface or Intermediate or Fundamental!

And he wouldn’t seek to grasp the potential knowledge of the difference of Immensity between his Absolute Depth and THE Creature’s.

The comparisons were unique and great tools, yes. They had served him well in understanding his progress. They had provided motivation when progress seemed slow. They had given him targets to surpass and benchmarks to exceed.

But in here, with adversity building up, at this moment, Noah decided that he was going against himself and only the limits that he set forth!
