Chapter 3317: Shocking The Youngsters

Chapter 3317: Shocking The Youngsters

Despite the youngster’s worries, Lin Mu, Daoist Chu, and Elyon remained completely calm.

Daoist Chu chuckled softly. "She has tanked worse hits than that."

Elyon nodded. "A flip will not kill her."

Shanhu Ying stared at them in confusion. "Are you sure. That looked painful."

Lin Mu simply said, "Watch."

The whale, perhaps thinking it had gained the upper hand, launched itself upward from the water. Its mouth opened wide, revealing rows of jagged, hook like teeth.

Then it swallowed Cattaleya whole.

The youngsters screamed.

Shanhu Jie fell to his knees. "She is gone. There is no way she can survive that."

Shanhu Guimen shook her head rapidly. "She cannot possibly live inside that monster."

But Lin Mu placed his hand on the railing and said in a quiet voice, "Wait a few seconds."

GWOOOOOOO

Only a heartbeat later, the whale let out a tortured howl that shook the entire sea. Its body twisted violently, rising and falling like a mountain struck by an earthquake. The water churned into a vast frothing whirlpool around it.

The whale convulsed again. Then again.

A minute passed.

Suddenly the immense creature froze mid motion.

Silence.

Then a massive glowing slash burst outward from the whale’s belly. It cut from the front all the way to the tail.

The entire lower half of the whale split apart.

And Cattaleya jumped out.

She was drenched in black blood from head to toe. Her braid was soaked and dripping. She spat out something onto the deck of the ship and made a disgusted face.

"That tasted horrible," she said flatly.

Meng Bai covered his mouth. "She cut her way out from the inside."

Shanhu Ying looked ready to faint. "She just killed a seventh tribulation beast from inside its stomach."

Shanhu Dian whispered, "Is she made from divine metal?"

Shanhu Qing shook her head slowly. "No. She is made from nightmares."

Lin Mu laughed softly. "Welcome back."

Cattaleya waved a hand. "That thing’s stomach acid was annoying, but that was it."

A few smaller cursed beasts still swam around the ship, but Elyon and Daoist Chu cleaned them up quickly. Lin Mu sent a single Sword Intent arrow to disperse the last one.

Finally, the waters calmed. The Ninth Sea was still stormy and the sky still pitch black, but the sudden chaos of battle had ended.

The ship continued carefully through the cursed sea. The youngsters remained silent for some time, still processing the sheer brutality of the fight they had witnessed.

Lin Mu stood near the prow of the ship, sensing ahead. Somewhere through the vast swirling darkness, the ancestral island awaited.

And the curse grew stronger with every passing mile.

The ship sailed steadily through the cursed waters, guided by Lin Mu’s senses and fortified by Daoist Chu’s precise adjustments. The Ninth Sea stretched endlessly in every direction, the sky still covered in oppressive clouds that hid the stars and moon.

Only the faint glow of the ship’s arrays and the soft blue light from the coral inlays illuminated their path.

Another day passed, though it was impossible to tell by sunlight. The group had only the gentle shift in their own internal rhythm and the ticking of the ship’s ornate timepiece to indicate the passage of time.

The storms intensified during this long journey.

Thick waves rose like mountains and crashed onto the ship with force that could crush Immortal beasts. The youngsters gripped the railings in terror, but even the mightiest waves seemed unable to flip the ship with Lin Mu and Daoist Chu working together.

Spatial distortions opened without warning, sometimes in the distance, sometimes right beneath the water.

Each distortion crackled with unstable power, tearing holes into the Lesser Void and pulling in chunks of the cursed sea. Lin Mu used his spatial perception to navigate around most of them, but there came one distortion that appeared directly above the ship.

It was like a jagged black scar splitting reality open.

HUALA

The youngsters screamed as the distortion tore through the outer barrier arrays and began sucking in the deck of the ship.

Shanhu Ying cried, "We are done for."

Shanhu Jie grabbed Shanhu Dian by the wrist to prevent him from being lifted upward. "Hold on."

A deafening groan echoed as the ship tilted, its protective barrier bending inward. Even Daoist Chu stiffened, sensing the danger.

But then Lin Mu stepped forward.

He did not draw his sword nor did not use a technique. He simply reached out with both hands and grabbed the edges of the distortion as though they were physical objects. The youngsters stared in absolute disbelief as Lin Mu pressed the swirling edges together like someone folding fabric.

HONG

The rift resisted, writhing violently.

Sparks of spatial energy showered around him like falling stars. But Lin Mu’s expression did not change. With calm strength, he pressed the edges of the rift together, his fingers glowing faintly as Sword Intent and Spatial Dao energy intertwined.

He gave one final push.

The rift collapsed into a ball the size of a coin.

WHOOSH

Then Lin Mu flicked it upward. The tiny distortion vanished into the sky like a spark snuffed out.

The youngsters stood frozen, jaws open.

Shanhu Guimen whispered, "He grabbed a spatial rift... with his hands."

Shanhu Qing trembled. "How is that possible. Not even peak immortals can do that."

Shanhu Jie sank to the deck, overwhelmed. "Is he a monster."

Daoist Chu chuckled faintly. "He is a multi-talented Cultivator. This much is natural for him."

Cattaleya laughed loudly and slapped Lin Mu’s back hard enough to dent metal. "Good work pushing that little tear away. Would have been annoying to fight beasts while falling into the Lesser Void."

Lin Mu nodded modestly. "It was just a small distortion."

To the youngsters, it was terrifying and unbelievable. To him, it was nothing more than one of many obstacles.

They continued their journey, but now the youngsters looked at Lin Mu with a mixture of awe and fear. His strength felt immeasurable, far beyond anything they had encountered.

As they advanced deeper, more beasts emerged from the cursed waters. Many were horribly mutated versions of once majestic creatures.
