Chapter 3352: The Little Ancestor

Chapter 3352: The Little Ancestor

Cattaleya clenched her fists.

"If this body were not so tiny, I would punch him," she whispered.

Tao Yinsu winked. "Flirting will get you nowhere."

Cattaleya gagged. "I am going to throw up."

Lin Mu finally had enough.

He lifted Tao Yinsu gently and placed him on a soft cushion.

"I will stay here for some time. The child needs supervision. Guidance. And protection."

The Patriarch bowed endlessly.

"We will prepare everything needed. Anything you want. Anything the child needs."

Tao Yinsu pumped his fist in victory.

"Good. I want warm blankets. Soft pillows. Food that is not imaginary. Clothing that is not embarrassing. And someone to carry me around because crawling is beneath the dignity of an immortal."

Lin Mu sat cross legged and closed his eyes, ignoring the rant.

In his mind Xukong chuckled.

"You have gained a temporary disciple. Whether you like it or not."

Lin Mu exhaled deeply.

This was no disciple. This was a calamity wrapped in baby fat.

And he now had to raise it... at least for the time being.

Even if Lin Mu could leave him right now, he had a hunch if this baby grew up he’ll eventually come to find him... possibly with a whole army of angry cultivators behind him.

A few minutes later, the Binggan Clan, still trembling from everything they had witnessed, began preparations for formally presenting the elders and the baby’s parents to Lin Mu.

Word had already spread throughout the clan that the "cursed infant" was not only not cursed, but was an immortal reincarnator verified by a high ranking Buddhist figure who wielded a White Jade Ruyi. The shift from fear to reverence was nearly instant.

Still, the elders approached the chamber with careful steps, as if a dragon was waiting inside.

One of the elders, an old woman with silver streaks in her hair, whispered to another elder, "Is he sleeping? Is he awake? Does he speak like a demon or like a sage? Should we bow? Should we kneel? Should we bring incense?"

The elder beside her shook his head, face pale. "We should give him whatever he wants. If he asks to rename the town to Tao Yinsu Abode, we should do it."

Lin Mu could hear all of this from inside the chamber and he rubbed his temples. Tao Yinsu had already started to corrupt the sanity of the entire clan and he had not been here for half a day yet.

Eventually the Patriarch arrived with a young couple. They were the parents of the baby, a young man and his wife. Their faces showed exhaustion, fear, and the faintest glimmer of hope. They bowed deeply before Lin Mu.

"Honored Eminence Lin," the Patriarch said, voice shaky. "This is my grand nephew Binggan Danyu and his wife Binggan Lumei. They are the parents of the child."

Lin Mu studied them. They seemed kind enough, but clearly traumatized. The young woman looked at her baby with conflicted eyes, as if unsure whether to approach or run.

Tao Yinsu saw this and scoffed.

"What are you staring at? Quit looking at me like I am a demon stuffed inside a dumpling. I am the reincarnation of a mighty immortal. The heavens have clearly smiled upon your bloodline."

Lumei nearly fainted.

The father blinked repeatedly.

"Patriarch... are you... sure?" he whispered.

The Patriarch shushed him immediately and bowed in apology to Tao Yinsu.

"Tao Yinsu, forgive his ignorance. He has never met such a profound being."

Tao Yinsu flipped a tiny hand. "You are forgiven. This time. Only because I cannot hold grudges in this tiny body. My arms are too small for grand dramatic gestures."

Lin Mu’s eye twitched.

He spoke calmly. "Tao Yinsu. These are your parents in this life."

Tao Yinsu rolled his eyes. "Parents. Sure. Fine. I suppose every life needs basic caretakers."

Lumei bit her lip.

The Patriarch hurried forward and introduced something else.

"And as for his name, dear seniors..."

Tao Yinsu immediately interrupted.

"My name is Tao Yinsu. T A O Y I N S U. I am not being called Little Biscuit. Or Fortune Bean. Or whatever ridiculous names you gave me."

Lin Mu raised a brow.

The Patriarch winced and explained. "His birth name was Binggan Xiaobei."

Tao Yinsu snorted loudly.

"What kind of cursed name is that? Xiaobei? That sounds like a pet name for a stray rabbit that nobody wanted. I refuse."

Lin Mu cleared his throat before the Patriarch could panic again.

"Since he insists on keeping his name, let him keep it. His new formal name can be Binggan Tao Yinsu."

Tao Yinsu opened his mouth to object but Lin Mu fixed him with a firm glare.

His eyes widened and he fell silent for three seconds.

Then he grumbled. "Fine. But only because you look like you could throw me into a new universe if you felt like it. But Binggan. Really? The clan of fortune cookies? This is an insult to every immortal who ever lived."

The parents nearly wept.

Lin Mu took a breath, mastering his patience. "Regardless of what their craft is, this is your clan now. You will treat them properly."

Tao Yinsu muttered something that sounded like he was insulting fortune cookies in five different worlds, but he did not protest further.

Unfortunately, this was only the beginning.

The question of seniority soon became the next calamity.

Within minutes of meeting the elders, Tao Yinsu puffed out his chest and stated, "All of you are juniors in comparison to me. Kneel if you value your lungs."

The Patriarch nearly choked. The elders gaped. The parents stiffened.

Lin Mu raised a hand before any absurd chaos could begin.

However, Tao Yinsu continued proudly.

"I was an immortal. I have lived tens of thousands of years. I have led armies... or at least I think I did. The memories come and go, all right? But I am still definitely older than all of you. Respect your elders."

The Patriarch swallowed.

"But you look like a child."
