Chapter 3865: Any More Questions?

Chapter 3865: Any More Questions?

With Peak Head Mountain Roar finishing his explanation about the Open Palm and Closed Fist states, the hall gradually fell silent again.

Little Bull was still thinking about the strange way the Wild Peak classified peace and war, while High Elder Shatter Peak seemed unusually pleased with how quickly the young man had accepted the explanation.

High Elder Palm Saber had already returned to his seat and was drinking from a large stone cup that looked closer to a bucket in size, while Peak Head Mountain Roar leaned back against his throne.

"That should be enough for now." Peak Head Mountain Roar finally said. "You know how to cultivate. You know where the library is. You have access to the training areas and most regions of the Inner Court. If you need something, ask one of the Elders or your senior brothers and sisters."

Little Bull nodded.

"Do you have any questions?" High Elder Shatter Peak asked.

Little Bull opened his mouth before stopping and then thought for a few moments.

Lin Mu actually had many questions.

There were countless things he wanted to know about the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect. He wanted to know more about the forbidden zones, the hidden regions, the ancient records, and especially the possible locations where the vault could have been hidden.

He also wanted to learn more about the restricted areas of the Core Court and the five Major Forbidden Zones. Of course, Little Bull could not ask any of those questions. A supposedly simple village man asking about hidden sect vaults would immediately attract attention.

Lin Mu searched his recent memories for something Little Bull could reasonably ask about. Then he remembered the pink haired girl.

"Do we have children here?" Little Bull asked and the three Elders stared at him.

High Elder Shatter Peak blinked while High Elder Palm Saber slowly lowered his stone cup. Even Peak Head Mountain Roar’s eyebrows rose slightly.

"Children?" High Elder Shatter Peak repeated.

"Yes." Little Bull replied.

The three looked at each other as it was clearly not the question they had expected.

High Elder Palm Saber scratched his beard.

"We do have children on the Wild Peak." He replied. "There should be quite a few."

Little Bull’s eyes brightened. "Where?"

"Mostly around the servant settlements." High Elder Palm Saber explained. "Many of the servants living here have families. Some have lived on the Wild Peak for generations."

High Elder Shatter Peak nodded. "There are several villages around the lower mountain."

Little Bull had actually seen some of those settlements while exploring underground on his first night. He had avoided them since there had been too many people gathered together.

"Are any of them disciples?" Little Bull asked.

The three Elders became confused again while Peak Head Mountain Roar turned toward High Elder Palm Saber. "Do we have any young disciples?"

High Elder Palm Saber frowned and he seemed to genuinely think about the question.

"Young?" He muttered.

High Elder Shatter Peak also began thinking.

"What counts as young?" He asked.

"Children." Peak Head Mountain Roar replied.

"Oh."

High Elder Shatter Peak immediately shook his head.

High Elder Palm Saber continued thinking. "The youngest disciple currently registered under the Wild Peak should be..."

He paused, then he looked at Little Bull. "You."

Little Bull pointed at himself. "Me?"

"You’re twenty four." High Elder Palm Saber stated.

Little Bull nodded.

"Then yes. You’re the youngest."

High Elder Shatter Peak laughed. "Our little junior is truly little."

High Elder Palm Saber glanced at him. "Twenty four is still an adult."

"Little, compared to us."

"Most of the members are little compared to you."

Peak Head Mountain Roar coughed and the two High Elders stopped arguing.

Little Bull scratched his head. "So there are no child disciples?"

"No." High Elder Palm Saber replied. "The next youngest after you should already be over a hundred years old."

Lin Mu was mildly surprised. He knew body cultivators often progressed slowly, though the age difference was still considerable.

Peak Head Mountain Roar looked at Little Bull. "Why are you asking?"

Little Bull immediately answered. "I met someone."

The expressions of the three Elders changed.

"Someone?" High Elder Shatter Peak asked.

"A child." Little Bull replied.

High Elder Palm Saber frowned. "From the servant villages?"

Little Bull shook his head. "She could fly."

Silence filled the hall and Lin Mu noticed the change instantly. High Elder Shatter Peak’s relaxed expression disappeared. High Elder Palm Saber placed his stone cup down. And Peak Head Mountain Roar’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Little Bull continued staring innocently though internally, Lin Mu became alert.

’Interesting.’ The reaction had been small.

A normal person might have missed it and Little Bull certainly would have. But Lin Mu did not. He had spent far too much time dealing with powerful cultivators, nobles, sect Elders, merchants, and rulers. He knew how to read subtle changes in expression.

The three Elders were surprised and there was confusion. But mixed among those emotions was something else, wariness.

"When did you meet this child?" High Elder Shatter Peak asked.

"Yesterday." Little Bull replied.

"Where?"

"In the forest."

"Which part?" High Elder Palm Saber asked.

Little Bull pointed vaguely toward one side of the mountain. "That way."

High Elder Palm Saber frowned. "That covers several thousand kilometers."

Little Bull scratched his head. "I was training with two senior brothers."

"Which ones?" High Elder Shatter Peak asked.

Little Bull gave their names and High Elder Palm Saber nodded. "I know them."

"They left." Little Bull continued.

"They left you?" High Elder Shatter Peak asked.

"They forgot something."

High Elder Palm Saber sighed. "Of course."

Little Bull continued telling them what had happened.

He explained how the two senior disciples had killed two Root Turner Boars and how they had started cooking them. He also explained how his seniors suddenly received a message and ran away after remembering the reports they were supposed to deliver.

High Elder Palm Saber rubbed his forehead. "They forgot the Pill Division reports again?"

"Apparently." High Elder Shatter Peak replied.

"We warned them last time."

"They remembered eventually."

"They remembered after someone contacted them."

"Still counts."
