Chapter 3890: Analyzing The Die

Chapter 3890: Analyzing The Die

With a casual gesture from Taegong, the formation chains obeyed and Little Bull’s suspended body accelerated forward. The portal rapidly approached and then Lin Mu crossed its threshold. The familiar sensation immediately enveloped Lin Mu.

Space itself stretched around him while the illusionary chains disappeared the instant he entered the channel. Now only the teleportation remained. Lin Mu had experienced countless spatial transfers throughout his life.

Every journey possessed its own characteristics and this one immediately revealed several interesting properties. His Spatial Perception remained active showing him that the interior channel appeared surprisingly narrow.

The surrounding Spatial Fabric continuously flexed beneath the tremendous strain while small ripples occasionally spread through the passage before stabilizing once more.

’The stability is limited.’ Lin Mu quickly evaluated it.

The channel functioned perfectly for ordinary transportation. But attempting something significantly larger or vastly farther away would likely exceed its limits.

’Interworld travel would be impossible.’ Lin Mu reached the conclusion almost instantly. ’Its range is limited to a single world.’

That alone remained impressive.

Transporting someone across an entire Immortal World still represented astonishing capability, that too without using a proper array and an external power source. The journey itself proved remarkably swift as barely one minute passed.

Lin Mu spent every second carefully studying the channel.

Eventually he noticed another detail, the Sixfold Horizon Transit Die itself remained connected to the passage. An almost invisible anchor extended from the cube through the Spatial Channel as power continuously flowed along it.

The treasure itself supplied the tremendous energy necessary for maintaining the portal.

’So that’s how it functions.’ The realization answered another question.

The six activations represented genuine expendable power as each use permanently consumed one complete reserve.

’No wonder only six activations existed.’

This method likely avoided relying upon external immortal stones or formation arrays altogether. It sacrificed longevity for absolute convenience. And as the teleportation neared completion, Lin Mu sensed another change.

The anchor rapidly weakened until finally its connection faded. The remaining Spatial Qi retreated back toward the originating point before it vanished completely. The cube itself no longer accompanied the channel.

Instead, it had already returned to Taegong’s possession. The treasure clearly remained bound to its owner rather than consumed during activation. Only one of its six stored powers had disappeared forever.

Three uses had now become two.

The remaining treasure had safely returned to the conspirator waiting back within the Wild Peak. Lin Mu quietly committed every observation to memory. The Sixfold Horizon Transit Die had proven even more remarkable than he initially believed.

The familiar sensation of compressed space suddenly vanished and for a brief instant, Lin Mu felt gravity seize hold of him once more.

THUD!

Little Bull crashed onto hard stone with enough force to scatter loose gravel in every direction. Dust rose into the air before being carried away by fierce winds that seemed to constantly sweep across the surrounding landscape.

Lin Mu immediately rolled to one side before rising into a crouch while his eyes swept across every direction. His body remained tense, his breathing slowed and every instinct sharpened.

"The Mad Demon Depths." Lin Mu muttered.

He had certainly heard of the place. Any cultivator who had lived long enough within the Heavenly Guardian Stream Sect knew its name, even if they had never seen it themselves. It ranked among the infamous forbidden regions of the Inner Court Continent.

Long ago, it had been feared as one of the greatest death zones on the continent. Ancient records described countless experts disappearing within its depths. Over time, the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect gradually conquered portions of it.

The outer regions eventually became stable enough for another purpose: Prisons, execution grounds, and facilities for criminals whose crimes surpassed ordinary punishment. Yet despite its fame, its location remained unknown.

Every map Lin Mu had collected omitted it entirely. Even Lady Kang’s extensive intelligence network had failed to determine its exact position. Which made perfect sense as no great sect would openly reveal the location imprisoning its most dangerous enemies.

Lin Mu slowly looked around and his brows gradually furrowed.

"This..." The place looked considerably stranger than he had expected.

He stood upon what could only be described as a rocky hill.

Calling it a mountain would have been excessive and calling it an island somehow felt inaccurate. The uneven ground stretched roughly a hundred meters across in every direction while jagged rocks protruded from the surface.

Sparse patches of dry grass clung stubbornly between cracks and the wind never seemed to stop blowing. Then, the hill simply ended. There was no gentle slope or gradual descent or even any sign of natural tapering.

Instead the ground abruptly transformed into sheer cliffs. Almost as though someone had sliced away everything surrounding the hill with a gigantic blade. Lin Mu slowly approached the edge and saw that below it there was nothing but crashing waves.

His gaze shifted toward the front, and an endless ocean stretched beyond the cliff. Its dark waters rolled endlessly beneath the cloudy sky while powerful waves slammed against the stone below and spray occasionally reached astonishing heights before falling back into the sea.

He turned toward the left and saw more ocean. The same was the case for right. There were no islands, sailing ships, floating debris or any visible structures of any sort visible. Only water extending toward the distant horizon.

Finally he looked behind himself and his expression changed slightly.

What he saw was a vast land full of forests, mountains and rolling plains disappearing into the distance. The contrast felt almost surreal. One side revealed an endless sea while the other revealed the continent itself.

And connecting both stood a single bridge.

Lin Mu quietly stared as the bridge appeared ancient. Thick wooden planks formed its walkway while several ropes thicker than a man’s torso supported its weight. Time had clearly taken its toll as many planks had cracked while others had completely disappeared.

The remaining boards looked weathered after countless years beneath wind and rain.
