Chapter 3212: Why Did It Vanish Just Like That?

If she had a choice, she would rather not take these things out.

If the bracelet were still with her, she could have pulled out even more powerful weapons and swept through this world effortlessly. However, the bracelet was gone.

Where exactly had it gone? Why did it vanish just like that? Or had it abandoned her?

Yin Qing couldn’t calm her thoughts.

Whether she handed this item over or not, it posed a threat to her either way.

After scolding her own people a bit, Yin Qing instructed her two maids to prepare some food. Then, she headed to a secluded cave on the mountainside.

Ning Shu followed Yin Qing from behind and hid outside the cave.

Yin Qing stayed inside for quite a while before finally emerging.

Once Yin Qing had gone far enough, Ning Shu crouched and entered the cave. She then released her spiritual consciousness.

At the very end of the cave, the soil looked recently disturbed. Ning Shu squatted down and used her hands to dig into the dirt, uncovering animal hides.

Wrapped inside the hides were guns, clearly protected from the moisture in the soil to prevent the weapons and bullets from getting damp.

Ning Shu kept digging furiously and uncovered enough firearms to arm a force of nearly five hundred people, with bullets in uncountable amounts.

She stopped digging, covered everything back up with dirt, and began to backtrack. She stepped precisely into her previous footprints. With each step back, she smoothed over the prints and erased all traces of her ever being there.

Once she was out of the cave, she circulated her spiritual energy through her body and darted through the forest quickly. She made her way back to the city.

Lianqiao stretched her neck as she looked around, anxiously waiting for Ning Shu. When she finally saw Ning Shu return to the restaurant, her eyes welled up with tears.

“Miss, where on earth did you go? If you hadn’t come back soon, I would’ve gone to Madame and begged her forgiveness with my death!”

“I was just out wandering around. What did you buy?” With that, Ning Shu changed the subject.

As soon as Ning Shu returned to Marquis Xuanping’s residence, she was summoned by Madame Rongguo. The madame’s expression was cold and stern.

“Did you hurt the maid of Miss Yin?

“Do you know the whole capital is talking about it? They say you were angry about the broken betrothal, went to confront Miss Yin, had a dispute, and injured her maid.”

Madame Rongguo was clearly disappointed. “What’s so special about the Yin family? You’re the daughter of Marquis Xuanping! Why would you, a piece of fine porcelain, bang yourself against a block of stone?”

Ning Shu wasn’t surprised by this outcome. She calmly said to Madame Rongguo, “Mother, it’s nothing to worry about. At most, people will gossip for three days before moving on to the next scandal.

“Zhuru, you represent the Su family’s daughters. People will say the Su family lacks proper upbringing because of this. You were already someone who had her betrothal called off, and now this joke on top of that? I feel heartbroken for you, but I also blame you for being so disappointing.”

Ning Shu curtsied respectfully. “I understand, Mother.”

Madame Rongguo rubbed her forehead. “Don’t go out for a while. Stay at home.”

Lianqiao pouted. She opened her mouth several times to speak, but was stopped by Ning Shu each time.

“Yes, Mother.”

Ning Shu gave a curtsy and added, “Mother, I’d like to stay at our family’s manor for a while.”

Almost every noble household had a countryside manor. They were essentially farm estates owned by high-ranking officials or nobility, with hired workers to farm and grow vegetables.

Madame Rongguo had grown even more upset. “I thought you were a smart girl. How could you have done something like that?”

Ning Shu explained, “When I went out, I did run into Miss Yin at the teahouse. As for the rumors circulating out there, they’ve been exaggerated by gossip and are becoming more and more distorted.

“It was my own carelessness that caused this. I just want to stay at the manor for a while.”

Madame Rongguo waved her hand. “Do as you wish. If you need anything, tell the steward. Don’t suffer unnecessarily. Just come back after a short stay, understand?”

“Thank you, Mother.” Ning Shu bowed and returned to her courtyard.

“Miss, when did you hurt Miss Yin’s maid? You didn’t even lift a finger! How could they falsely accuse you like this?”

Lianqiao looked like she was about to explode right there and then. This was just too much!
