Chapter 3435: Combustion (24)
“Can you help me find out where Wu Xianrou is right now?” Song Yi took off the headphones from Little Nine’s head.
“What now?” Little Nine was annoyed, having been interrupted in the middle of a game.
“This is Wu Xianrou’s phone number. I need you to hack into the communications network and track where she is,” Song Yi said anxiously.
He couldn’t get through to her by phone. Wu Xianrou was just a girl, and in weather like this, it was easy for something to happen to her.
Song Yi rubbed his eyebrows so hard that there were red finger marks on his forehead.
Quite a few people had gathered in Little Nine’s room. The entire squad had come.
Song Yi was still in his wet clothes, his pants dripping water.
Little Nine wore a cold expression. His fingers flew quickly over the keyboard.
Ning Shu looked at Song Yi, who seemed utterly exhausted. She said nothing.
Right now, Song Yi hadn’t rushed into marriage with Wu Xianrou like in the storyline.
The scales clearly tipped in Wu Xianrou’s favour at first.
But now, they were just boyfriend and girlfriend—not married—and Song Yi didn’t feel that much responsibility towards her.
He was swinging back and forth between his subordinates and Wu Xianrou.
There was some buffer time, enough for Song Yi to think about their future.
Suddenly, Ning Shu had a lightbulb moment with a skill worthy of a wicked mother-in-law.
If she ever had the chance to be a wicked mother-in-law, she wouldn’t use any tricks to break the ‘happy couple’ up. Instead, she’d let them get closer.
She’d agree to her son and daughter-in-law dating, but only on the condition that they couldn’t marry within two years. When things were quiet, she could even sponsor some trips for them to go on vacation.
Half of all couples would break up after returning from trips.
Had you not seen how many people complain about their partners after trips?
She’d be splitting up couples from within.
Hahaha…
Ning Shu’s inner little devil laughed wildly with hands on hips.
But on the outside, she stayed calm and said to Song Yi, “Miss Wu probably went somewhere to avoid the rain. It’s pouring this hard. She can’t keep running around outside.”
Just thinking about it made Ning Shu want to laugh.
Song Yi kept holding his phone. Droplets of water fell from his hair onto the screen. He kept wiping it with his hand.
Ning Shu pulled out a tissue and handed it to him, but Song Yi didn’t take it and started making a call instead.
Ning Shu silently held the tissue and used it to wipe her nose.
But the call still wouldn’t connect. Song Yi asked Little Nine, “Did you find anything?”
“Wait a moment. Using phone card location like this is a bit tricky,” Little Nine said.
Moving communications satellites wasn’t a simple thing.
Besides, hacking such systems was actually illegal.
If they got caught, it would be a huge problem.
So Little Nine was risking a lot doing this for Song Yi, who kept pressing him, which made Little Nine uncomfortable.
Finally, he said, “She’s at the Shenhuang Hotel.”
Song Yi dashed out of the room and headed straight for the hotel.
Old Two patted Little Nine on the back. “The squad commander’s just too anxious.”
Little Nine pouted, put his headphones back on, and went back to gaming.
“Maybe we should follow and check it out,” Ning Shu suggested.
“Yeah, we’re his squad members, after all. Let’s go.”
Others agreed; if something happened, they could help.
Ning Shu went back to get a raincoat and put it on.
The group ran towards the hotel. Luckily, it wasn’t too far, and for special forces, it was manageable.
When they arrived, Song Yi was talking to the hotel front desk.
Ning Shu walked over and asked, “Have you asked for Miss Wu’s room yet?”
“I’m sorry, we’ve already checked. Miss Wu never booked a room here, and there’s no record of her staying,” the front desk staff explained helplessly.
Song Yi said anxiously, “She’s definitely in this hotel.”
It was already quite difficult for Little Nine to get a location of the hotel.
If Little Nine had a satellite of his own, then tracking anyone would be no problem.
However, there was no ‘if.’ Reality wasn’t so convenient.
Ning Shu asked the front desk, “Do you remember if anyone brought in a girl who was soaking wet? She’s about 1.67 meters tall, with fair skin and long, loose hair.”
If they managed to track this place but Wu Xianrou hadn’t used her own ID to book a room, then she must have been brought by someone else.
Song Yi was getting frantic. He was too flustered to think straight.
The front desk staff thought for a moment and said, “Yes, there was someone like that. CEO Su brought her in.”
“Then what’s the room number? We’re military. That girl is our superior’s daughter.” Old Two pulled out his wallet, showing his special forces ID.
The front desk staff looked surprised, consulted the hotel manager, then took the keys and led them to the room upstairs.
It was the presidential suite.
The front desk staff knocked on the door several times. Just as they were about to use the key, the door opened.
A man in a bathrobe stood there. His face was sharp and sinister, with side-swept hair giving off a dangerous vibe.
However, even knowing the danger he posed, one couldn’t help but be drawn in.
The man raised an eyebrow slightly and said, “Who are you looking for?”
This man was like opium. Women would be drawn to him like moths to a flame.
Ning Shu blinked. Such an impressive standard. He was living in the presidential suite, and the front desk staff said he was a CEO of some company as well.
Could he just be a random passerby? Maybe a newly introduced candidate for the male lead?
After all, Song Yi and Wu Xianrou weren’t married, and without marriage, anything was possible.
Song Yi almost exploded with anger. This man was in a bathrobe, looking like he just got out of the shower, and Wu Xianrou had come to the hotel with him.
Song Yi pushed CEO Su aside and entered the room, shouting, “Wu Xianrou, are you in there?”
Ning Shu and the others followed inside, dripping water onto the carpet.
Hearing Song Yi’s voice, Wu Xianrou grew nervous. She hurriedly wrapped a bathrobe around herself and roughly tied up her hair as she came out of the bathroom.
As Wu Xianrou stepped out, the atmosphere instantly fell silent.
Nothing was more terrifying than sudden silence.
Everyone’s eyes flickered between the man and woman in bathrobes.
This situation was all too easy to misunderstand.
Song Yi’s face remained unchanged. “It’s time to go. Your father must be worried.”
Everyone sighed in admiration. They thought, ‘Sir, your temper is really something!’
Song Yi didn’t want to cause a scene.
First, because of their sensitive identities.
Second, out of respect for Wu Xianrou’s father.
Their status was delicate, after all.
Any issues should be handled privately.
Even though Song Yi was boiling with jealousy and anger inside, he held himself back.
Wu Xianrou, feeling guilty, was eager to explain at first. However, seeing how indifferent Song Yi was, she suddenly lost it.
She grabbed the arm of the man beside her and said, “I’m breaking up with you. This is my new boyfriend.”
As a domineering high-ranking soldier, Song Yi should have immediately pulled Wu Xianrou away and gone home to discipline her, but he restrained himself.
He then asked, “Are you serious? When did this start?”
Ning Shu: …
Wu Xianrou puffed out her chest and lifted her chin. “Just now. We’re already boyfriend and girlfriend.”
Everyone turned to look at Song Yi in unison. His expression changed wildly, like a colour palette, flashing with all the colors of a neon sign.
