Chapter 6989: Heavencrush

Omen Path was full of illusory and real worlds. Everyone had a different experience.

“Rumble!” The trio came across deafening explosions on the horizon.

“Activate!” Till Ancestor summoned a crystal platform to peer into a northern dark expanse.

They saw an abyss large enough to contain stars. It contained an incalculable suppressive force that could be sensed through the crystal. Upon closer inspection, it was manmade. The project must have taken a long time.

“The pressure...” Mo Xiangsheng became startled.

“An immortal will be no different than a mortal there. How did they excavate it?” Till Ancestor became puzzled.

An immortal could scoop out the land to form an abyss in the blink of an eye. However, the same couldn’t be said about mortals.

Li Qiye glanced at it and knew what was going on.

Till Ancestor’s eyes widened as he added more energy into the crystal, allowing them to peer deeper into the abyss. They saw mountains and mountains of bones.

“Countless mortals...” Till Ancestor murmured.

“Looks like that is the entrance, the dimensional pathway is there too.” Mo Xiangsheng gazed toward the sky above the abyss through the crystal. Sure enough, enormous metallic rings were fastened one after another along the rim of the abyss, resembling the mouth of a well.

Other fortresses hovered in the air, including the one seen back in Myriad Buddhas City. The rings served to direct the red light and transform it into the passage.

“So many from the fortress race, quite a few immortals.” Mo Xiangsheng remarked.

“Immortal Bronze is here too.” Till Ancestor said.

“The primordial immortal...” He shuddered.

“Rumble!” Thunderous rumblings echoed from the abyss. As the red radiance surged outward, the abyss began collapsing inward.

This was akin to a black hole - the end of all matters. Only the light would remain at the end of the process.

As they tried their best to observe the situation, they saw a massive machine digging toward the bottom.

“What is that?” Mo Xiangsheng asked.

“It might be reaching the celestial source.” Till Ancestor uttered coldly.

“Senior, can you become a celestial immortal with it?” He became emotional and wondered about himself as well.

“That’s daydreaming.” Till Ancestor said: “No one is getting it with the fortress race here in full force. That’s Heavencrush too.”

“Not just a legend?” He asked.

“It’s right before your eyes.” Till Ancestor said. Despite his stance on the matter, he still observed the machine due to its unique nature.

“Is the machine considered an immortal?” He asked.

“It’s not alive.” Till Ancestor said.

“I’ve heard it’s comparable to a celestial immortal. Was it created to obtain this celestial source?” He said.

“It existed long ago, way before this celestial source.” Will Ancestor said.

“Is there a way for it to absorb the source and become an actual celestial immortal?” He asked.

“Who knows?” Till Ancestor didn’t know the answer.

Li Qiye didn’t jump in either, choosing to watch in silence.

“What is this race trying to do? Still maintaining fortress form after becoming immortals, I wonder what they’re like inside.” He was curious.

“There are many more strange things in life, and would you appreciate people coming inside your body for a look?” Till Ancestor uttered coldly.

“...” He smiled awkwardly.
