Chapter 1812: Light vs Extinction

The pitch black Extinction Shadow Halo was like a world-ending beast that had just been roused from its slumber. The entire world became overcast the moment it appeared. Wherever the extinction energy reached, all of the worldly natural energy was annihilated without a trace. Its power caused the Heavenly Emperors to turn pale. The Authorities within their bodies quaked in terror and let out whines.

Only Jiang Qing'e's gaze remained as sharp as before. She knew that if the apocalyptic wheel were to fall on the divine continents, everything would be completely destroyed. The opponent had a quasi tenth-grade extinction resonance, and only she could hold her back.

With that in mind, the Heart of Light on her chest began to burn and endless amounts of divine flames flowed out, transforming into a vast sea that reached as far as the eye could see. She stood right in the middle of it, and the divine flames rose into the air in the shape of gigantic lotus petals.

An indescribably magnificent golden lotus flower was taking shape, with over ten thousand layers. On each petal were countless runes of light, each and every one formed from the purest and most primordial light.

As Jiang Qing'e stood above the golden lotus, it rose into the air like the rising sun, confronting the Extinction Shadow Halo. When the two objects that had been created from tenth-grade resonant power clashed, it was as though all sound had vanished from the world. All of the worldly natural energy within billions of miles was immediately assimilated, turning the world black and white. If a Heavenly Emperor were to enter this region, their Authority would be extinguished immediately and they would fall.

The crowd could only watch on in trepidation. They could see that the powers were constantly eroding and destroying each other. Unfortunately, what caused their hearts to sink was that even though the Golden Lotus had prevented the Extinction Shadow Halo from descending further, its layers were starting to be infected with black specks. Layer by layer, the petals withered and died.

Although Jiang Qing'e and the Dark Sect Master both had quasi tenth-grade resonances, the latter's foundation and control over it was far superior. After all, she was the fusion of the Sect Master and the Origin of Absolute Corruption and thus, no one in the world could compare to her. Jiang Qing'e, on the other hand, could only rely on the sheer power accorded to her by the quasi tenth-grade light resonance in order to resist.

As the two attacks were shaking the world, Li Luo reappeared. He had resurrected. His expression was solemn as he gazed at the black and white region filled with destructive waves. He could see that Jiang Qing'e was at a disadvantage, so he had to figure out how he could help her. Unfortunately, even the Twelve Resonances Emperor Wheel was unable to even annoy the Dark Sect Master, indicating that his power was indeed insufficient. Strictly speaking, he was only a Four Authority Heavenly Emperor, not even at the realm of a Divine Fruit.

His gaze flickered with viciousness. A moment later, he turned towards Heavenly Emperor Jiang and the rest, saying in a low voice, "Everyone, I hope to borrow your strength. Funnel your power of Authority into the Absolute Resonance Halo."

The void behind him rumbled as the mysterious and perfect Absolute Resonance Halo reappeared with ten Divine Seals all glinting with mystical light. The others were a little surprised by Li Luo's words. The Authority they possessed was boundless and mighty; would Li Luo be able to bear it if all of the Heavenly Emperors pooled their powers together?

"Hurry!" said Li Luo with no time to go into details.

"Everyone, listen to Heavenly Emperor Luo," Heavenly Emperor Jiang said with a sigh.

The divine continents were now in a precarious situation, only one step away from utter destruction. Nothing else really mattered anymore, and if they could protect their home, even if they had to self-detonate, they would do it without hesitation.

The other Heavenly Emperors also naturally understood the situation they were in, and thus without further delay, roused the Authority within their bodies. Boundless power descended from the skies, creating all sorts of fantastical phenomena before pouring it into the Absolute Resonance Halo.

As vast amounts of Authority surged in, Li Luo could sense the Absolute Resonance Halo starting to tremble, letting out a roar as though it was unable to bear the burden. Its rotation began to slow and cracks began to appear.

Roar!

Li Luo's body expanded, transforming into a Heavenly Dragon. He then used his undulating and lengthy body to wrap around the Absolute Resonance Halo's edge, binding it tightly like a hoop. This simple but brutish solution left many Heavenly Emperors speechless.

However, how could the raging power of Authority from so many Heavenly Emperors be easily tamed? Any of the Authority that seeped out of the halo instantly tore through Li Luo's hardy body, causing a torrential downpour of golden blood. He let out an agonized roar, summoning up all his strength and pressing down even harder onto the Absolute Resonance Halo, compressing and causing the Authority within it to go wild.

He then rushed towards the Dark Sect Master with it. It was as though a gigantic wheel was rolling towards her, looking both comical and heroic. When Li Luo entered the black and white region with the Absolute Resonance Halo, his tenacious and resilient body was swiftly eroded away by the collateral damage of the quasi tenth-grade resonances. Even his golden bones were starting to be exposed as his flesh and scales melted away.

Li Luo's gaze remained vicious despite everything, as he was solely focused on the Dark Sect Master. Without skipping a beat, he started to reverse the rotation of the Absolute Resonance Halo with all of the different Authorities. Unfortunately, as not all of the Authorities belonged to him, he could not completely reverse them. That said, the sheer amount of power was humongous, which resulted in all of the different powers rubbing and clashing with each other, creating terrifying fluctuations.

Without further hesitation, he started the self-destruction process of the Absolute Resonance Halo.

Kaboom!

An unimaginable wave of destruction rippled out from the middle of the black and white region. The violent power then swept towards the Dark Sect Master. Even a Divine Fruit Heavenly Emperor like Heavenly Emperor Jiang was startled by the sheer power. The Absolute Resonance Halo was indeed magical, capable of forcefully binding together numerous Heavenly Emperors' Authorities, compressing them through miraculous means, and unleashing their energy all at once. Perhaps only an attack of this caliber could possibly affect the Dark Sect Master, but was it effective enough to assist Jiang Qing'e?

The Heavenly Emperors watched on with nervous and expectant faces as the destructive power surged towards the Dark Sect Master. Only now did her expression finally change. It seemed as though the strange thing Li Luo had concocted had finally taken her by surprise.

"What an imaginative fellow. Though I shouldn't be surprised, considering he restored the Absolute Resonance Seed to its perfected state," said the Dark Sect Master. She then raised a slender finger, causing the void to rip open.

Dozens of figures emanating Corrupted Authority rushed out of the rift, with horrified expressions on their faces. They were the Grand Devil Kings of the Shadow World, clearly forced to come here by the Dark Sect Master. She had them under her control like puppets, and she was about to throw them out like disposable pawns.

The Dark Sect Master, who now had Li Lingjing's face, let out a mocking smirk. She clenched her first, and all of the Grand Devil Kings suddenly exploded. Vast amounts of Corrupted Authority rumbled and blasted out in every direction, meeting the explosion from the self-detonation of the Absolute Resonance Halo.

Then she let out a casual, calm laugh, sending chills down the spines of all the Heavenly Emperors. "I can play the game of self-detonation too."
