Chapter 2105: I Saved It For The Important People
The Gnomes were all terrified of Grey, and they ought to be given his reputation. However, they also knew that their best chance of surviving was either fleeing for their lives now and risk getting attacked by Grey and the other Ninth stage Sovereign humans, or they could attack and use their numerical advantage to take out Grey.
They came to a decision a few seconds later since there was no time to waste, and they all agreed it would be for the best if they tried to kill Grey now that General Robert was in pursuit of Rikard. If they could kill Grey, then the death of Wilmot and the other two Ninth stage Sovereign Gnomes would be worth it.
Garth, Tate, and Cassian were awestruck when they saw Grey killing Wilmot. None of them thought it would be so easy for a Peak Sovereign to lose his life, but it happened right before their eyes. Now they all understood that the hype on Grey’s name was no fluke, he truly was a freak of nature.
They flew in Grey’s direction after the Gnomes grouped up.
Grey nodded at them when they got close before turning his attention to Kora and the others. He sensed the desire to fight in their eyes, and all of them barring one kept their puppets.
’Looks like he’s one of those ones.’ It was quite easy for Grey to deduce the only Gnome with his puppet out was one of the rare ones that he could not cut off their connections with their puppets.
Slowly raising his hand to his face, he gently took off his cracked mask with a sigh. Every time he was entangled in a fight, his mask almost always ended up destroyed and he would have to take out another one by the end of the fight.
"You hid your strength really well, Grey." Kora remarked in a hateful tone. She was happy with the fact that she was still alive, but infuriated by the fact that Grey did not go all out during their exchange yet he was able to suppress both her and her puppet. Doesn’t that mean that if he were to take her seriously he would’ve killed her in a very short time?
At the thought of this, she felt even more vexed by this. It was clear to her that Grey was only playing with her during the fight.
’Such a hateful fellow. I’ll make sure to strip his flesh from his bones bit by bit before turning him into a puppet.’ She vowed to herself.
"I had to save it for the important people." Grey replied nonchalantly.
His nonchalant response to her remark almost threw Kora off the edge in rage. He was clearly looking down on her which made her feel humiliated.
"Attack!" She lost patience in wanting to speak with Grey. From what she could tell, he would only make her angrier with his replies.
Grey already predicted she would be enraged by his words, so seeing her launch an attack with the other Gnomes, he turned to Garth and the others, "Ensure not to go too far so I can assist any of you if need be. Also, if you ever feel any suction force, know it’s me and don’t struggle."
Garth and the others listened attentively to what Grey was saying.
"Got it." The trio replied simultaneously.
Grey was nowhere to be seen, after he finished speaking, he rushed to block Kora and the others.
The middle-aged Gnome who was attacked before Grey killed Wilmot was still motionless on the ground, so now there were only eight Ninth stage Sovereigns from the initial ten, and only one of them could use his puppet in this fight. The Gnomes felt a little skeptical since they were unable to defeat Grey earlier even with the help of their puppets. Of course, they also knew that at the time Grey was constantly on the back foot.
Facing off against nine experts with the strength of a Ninth stage Sovereign, Grey did not back down. When he appeared before them, his eyes shone brilliantly and a four colored orb appeared on each of his palms. The orbs slowly left his palm, floating to intercept the attacks of Kora and the Gnomes.
Boom!
A large explosion erupted alongside a fierce battle between Grey, Garth, Tate, and Cassian against the Gnomes. This time, none of them held anything back.
Garth, Tate, and Cassian were immediately dragged away by three Gnomes, leaving Grey to face off against the other five Gnomes as well as the puppet.
The Gnome with the puppet who was called Baern stayed at the back of the other four. They knew Grey had the ability to fatally wound a Ninth stage Sovereign if given the chance, for this reason they needed to keep Baern as far away from Grey as possible, while also keeping him close since they needed his assistance in the fight.
Grey didn’t even aim for Baern, his target from the onset was Kora. Of all of them, she was the most annoying one to deal with. Her ability to use the space element was thwarting Grey’s unpredictability in battle, which was his greatest strength over the past few years.
Boom! Bam! Bang!
Sparks flew everywhere as the attacks clashed. The very fabric of space was torn by the immense power undulating from each clash.
Grey, although using his full strength, was still the one who was mostly being forced back. This can’t be helped, after all, he was fighting against six people on the same cultivation stage as himself, and even though he was stronger than each of them individually, four hands were stronger than two.
Grey’s figure crashed out of a smoke, and while he was still mid-air, the puppet appeared above him and punched down with destructive force. The puppet was an Earth Elementalist, and before it attacked, it used the earth elemental essence to increase the weight of his punch, making it over ten times stronger than usual.
The punch connected cleanly on Grey’s back. Just like the middle-aged Gnome, Grey slammed into the ground... motionless.
