Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3806: Someone to Meet

Chapter 3806: Someone to Meet

The Artifact God promised Alex that she would work on the Flood Dragon’s scale as well as she could. And when she was done with it, she would look into learning about the corpse of the Three-Legged Crow. She still found herself stumbling through the words when saying the name of the Primordial, as if she still couldn’t believe Alex had it at all.

After some talk, she decided to send Alex away for the time being.

"I’ll call for you once I’m done gathering the ingredients. I’m sure you will want to watch me work on this. You won’t be the only one. I will have an audience ready in the future, and you can join me when that happens," she told him.

Alex was more than happy to hear that she wasn’t just going to make the artifact in private. Even if he disliked the fact that she planned on making it a show for many people, he wouldn’t mind as long as he would be the one to get the shield.

Hopefully, no god would consider abusing their authority at that moment.

According to her, it would take at least half a year or more to find the ingredients, so Alex decided to make use of that time to cultivate. Half a year could be 10 years on top of the cultivation formation, so he was happy to make use of that time period.

He began cultivating after telling everyone about it, but he was only 2 years into his 10 years of cultivation when he received a message.

This time, it came from his master.

Bladedance asked him to meet her in her courtyard. Alex wanted to continue cultivating, but according to her, it was an important matter.

Alex wondered what matter it could be that would be so urgent. A part of him wondered if the Fire God had arrived. He hoped that wasn’t true, but then, what else could it be? Could it be the Storm God again?

Alex arrived at the place where Bladedance was staying and walked inside. He found her sitting in the hallway, clearly dressed not quite casually, as though she was ready to accept guests.

"Master!" Alex greeted and bowed the moment he saw her again.

Bladedance looked at Alex and gave a nod. "Your cultivation base has increased. That’s good. You aren’t slacking off."

Alex nodded. "Did you leave closed cultivation recently?" he asked.

"Yes, a couple of days ago," she said. "I heard you’ve taken an apprenticeship under Yaojia."

"I’m learning Artifacts from her, but I wouldn’t call it an apprenticeship. At least, I do not consider her a master. If anyone, I would consider Steelmind to be my actual master for artifacts at this point."

Bladedance raised an eyebrow. "Godslayer?"

Alex nodded.

She couldn’t help but laugh. "Well, I don’t mind what master you take. I wouldn’t really care if you took another sword master either."

Alex wanted to joke around and say that she was the ’another’ one for him, since the first master was Wen Cheng, but he decided not to say anything.

"You said something was urgent, Master. What’s going on?"

Bladedance let out a soft sigh and spoke. "They’re here."

Alex blinked, his eyes narrowing. "Who is here? One of the gods?"

Bladedance shook her head. "No, the ones that are much worse."

Alex didn’t understand.

"The baldies," she finally said. "The Nine Yang Court has arrived."

Alex’s eyes widened slightly. "They’re finally here? When did they come?"

"Apparently, they’ve been here for a couple of months, but Newheaven has kept them away from you until you wouldn’t have to deal with them alone. She would’ve done fine herself, if only she hadn’t lost her leverage on the situation, considering she was the one who lost their tree."

Alex understood. "So now that you are awake, I am to meet these people?"

Bladedance nodded. "Newheaven has called for us to go over and meet her, but before we do, I wanted to ask you directly. What is it that you want to do? I know you decided long ago to give the tree, but if you think it will be better for you not to give it away, you can keep it. Being a cultivator means learning when to be greedy and when to be deceitful. This may be one of those times where even I would approve of underhanded behavior."

Alex rubbed his head as he considered her words. He didn’t think he needed to keep the tree. But did he want to give it away?

"The tree is the life support of an entire realm," Bladedance added. "What will be the consequences of plunging the world in your Soul Space into darkness by sending away the tree? You need to consider that."

Alex thought on her words for some time and found that he really did want to keep the tree if he could.

However, the memory of the previous tree flashed in his mind, one that begged for him to help its seed survive without ever saying a word. That tree wanted this tree to be alive in the true world, not in someone’s Soul Space.

If nothing else, Alex wanted to adhere to the wishes of the previous tree.

It had saved his life when he was dying of poison. So now, it was his turn to give it the life it deserved.

"I will give it back," Alex answered. "The Nine Yang Divine Tree deserves to be with the Nine Yang Court, so I will happily let them take it."

Bladedance looked at him for several seconds before nodding slowly. "I will expect you to have made the right choice, so I will respect your decision."

Alex smiled.

The woman then stood up and gestured for him to get up as well. "Come on then, time to go meet these people."

Alex nodded and stood up. For the longest time, he had heard about the Nine Yang Court and the sort of people they were. And finally, today, he was going to meet them.
