Chapter 655: Reunion With Evangelin I

Daniel and Eva were both standing in front of a large and magnificent door that looked like it was made of gold and extremely expensive, valuable materials.

The door was very large, exactly the kind of door you would imagine as the entrance to a grand palace. It was almost ten times Daniel's height.

Finn was sitting on Daniel's shoulder, not making any sound.

"What's your master like?" Before knocking, Daniel hesitated for a moment and asked the girl standing next to him.

Even though he had spent some time with Evangelin, that was only a simulation inside the Pagoda, and that was when she was only a young girl.

The Evangelin of today had lived for centuries and reached the ceiling of power in the world, and based on her experiences, her personality was definitely no longer the same as before.

"My master? She's a serious and cold woman. Maybe when you first look at her, you might think she doesn't have any emotions at all and is empty of any human feelings or a heart. But in reality, she's the most emotional person I've ever seen." Eva also paused a moment and then answered.

"It's a bit confusing, so I think it's better if you face her yourself." she added.

"I think I get what you mean." Daniel nodded, then gently knocked on the door.

Knock, knock!

Knock, knock!

"Come inside." A beautiful and mature feminine voice echoed in both of their ears.

Daniel immediately recognized the voice, and a smile appeared on his lips. It was really Evangelin's voice, just older, deeper, and full of ups and downs.

The door slowly opened, and both of them crossed the threshold. As soon as they stepped in, it felt like they had entered another world.

It was a very grand hall with a wide and open space. Instead of walls, it had pillars, pillars with empty spaces between them where you could see the outside.

And the outside looked like what heaven should look like.

A magnificent throne existed at the far end of the hall, and on it sat a beautiful and slender figure. Even though her appearance was delicate, the aura she released was enough to destroy the world.

Her face was covered by a veil, so it couldn't be seen, but from her eyes, Daniel could tell she really was the same girl.

"Master." Eva bowed respectfully and glanced at Daniel to signal that he should bow too.

However, the Mad Empress noticed and raised her hand, stopping Daniel from bowing, which shocked and surprised Eva.

She knew very well how much her master valued respect, and yet she personally prevented this boy from bowing.

What could that possibly mean?

It was confusing for her, but Daniel knew the reason very well, this woman definitely knew that he had become the new Eternity.

"For now, you're dismissed." Evangelin looked at Eva and whispered calmly. Her disciple nodded and left the hall.

The door closed behind her, and only three remained in the hall: Daniel, the Empress, and Finn.

"I guess I should introduce myself." she said calmly and casually while looking at him.

"There's no need. I know you very well, Saintness." Daniel shook his head.

"So you know me… did my master tell you everything?" Evangelin asked quietly. She didn't seem surprised at all.

In fact, it looked like she expected it. After all, she knew the Pagoda well and understood how it worked.

Daniel nodded. Naturally, that wasn't the truth, but telling her the real reason would sound strange. It was better to explain it later, when their relationship became closer.

"Since you know me, there's no need to waste time." The Mad Empress slowly stood up and walked toward him with her bare feet, stopping only when she was very close.

"I think you've already realized that I saved you once before. Back then I did it because I thought you were the fallen heir… I didn't expect you to be chosen as the new Eternity as well." Her tone grew slightly colder and more serious.

"Thank you for saving me both times. Without your help, I would probably have died." Daniel sincerely thanked her. He truly owed her for both occasions.

He might have found a way to survive the second one, but the first time he had really been in a deadly situation with a very high chance of death.

"The fact that the Pagoda and my master chose you means you're worthy of your position. Naturally, your first goal should be restoring the religion of Eternity. But I won't force you. I want to hear your own decision." Evangelin added, ignoring Daniel's gratitude completely.

Daniel paused. He felt like she was a little upset. Was she upset because he was chosen as the new Eternity and she wasn't?

But after thinking again, he rejected the idea. Evangelin wasn't that kind of person. Back in the second floor of the tower, she had actually been his biggest supporter.

So maybe it had something to do with his decision regarding the religion of Eternity?

"Of course I will restore the religion. But I can't do it alone. I need your help in this path." Daniel chose his words carefully.

Evangelin's eyes shined a little. Her cold aura disappeared and was replaced by stability and calmness.

"So my master made the right choice." she said with the same expressionless tone, though Daniel was willing to bet she was smiling behind that veil.

"The only reason I survived all these years, the only light that kept me awake in this darkness, was my goal and desire to bring back the religion of Eternity. To see its days of glory again."

"Even if I have to sacrifice my life for it, I'll help you."

Daniel smiled. It seemed he was wrong. Even though her outer personality had changed over the years, deep inside she was still the same girl who wanted to see the prosperity and glory of Eternity.

"Although… there are some problems."
