The expressions he saw on Queen Nerith's face was an expression one would have when they were truly shaken by a realization.
Corey wondered why the queen had such an expression. Knowing that his life depended on the queen's ability to fight back their enemies, he spoke to her through his mind.
'What's wrong?'
Queen Nerith glanced at him with a slightly taken aback expression, and then she shook her head slightly.
'It's nothing. I-'
'Bloody put away your stubbornness and foolishness, and say what's wrong for once. My life is literally in your fucking hands, and the one thing I would never accept even in my grave is that I died cause of your pride.'
'If I had the ability to fight Immortals, trust me, the last thing I'd be doing is having this damned conversation with you.'
'So you better tell me what's wrong, or I'll make sure I follow you to the afterlife and feed you to the pigs since that would be where you belong if I die because of you.'
If he had said these words out loud, many would have been shocked and stunned by what he said because they would never expect him to speak in such a manner.
Even Queen Nerith was stunned and could not react for some time because she also did not expect Corey to say such words.
She looked at him with a slight frown, and then she began speaking.
'I believe that they're about to attack and destroy the world tree.'
Corey frowned in confusion. 'How come? The world tree is obviously not here, and they're all here. So how can-!'
Corey's eyes suddenly widened in realization.
'Unless there are more enemies, and these enemies are outside the shell world.'
Queen Nerith frowned deeply, and then she looked at Klaus who had his arms folded and was seemingly okay waiting for them to acclimatize to the environment of the shell world.
'I've been wondering for some time why I haven't seen that bastard, the leader of the Freedom Fighters. But if I'm to guess, he's probably going after the world tree.'
Corey frowned with a slightly confused light in his eyes.
'Why do you believe that they're after the world tree? Also, shouldn't the world tree be secured? Shouldn't it have extremely powerful defenses since it's your people's most valuable treasure?'
'It has extremely powerful defenses that could even kill me if I was an enemy, and the world tree itself can defend itself against an Immortal.'
'But?' Corey asked with narrowed eyes.
'If it was any other person that was after the world tree, even if it was that prince, I would not be so bothered since he would find it extremely difficult to destroy the world tree.'
'And what's different with the leader of the Freedom Fighters?' Corey asked with the Stars of Consciousness in his mind blazing furiously.
'He's my nephew, and he knows more about the royal family and the world tree than you Outsiders.'
Corey's expression did not change when he heard this since this piece of information did not bother him. He shifted his gaze to Klaus.
'Are you sure that they're going after the world tree?' He asked once again just to be certain.
'Can you remember what that bastard said?'
Corey's mind instantly recalled every single word Klaus said back when he was talking, and his eyes narrowed when he recalled a particular sentence, Klaus had said.
----
"Point is that the queen's confidence and that of her daughters' were based on her connection with the world tree. But since that's no more, along with the world tree very soon... This world would be your graves."
----
'She's right. They want to destroy the world tree.'
Although what he knew about world trees was not extensive, he knew that the destruction of a world tree was not a light matter in the slightest.
'If the world tree is destroyed, I'm certain this world fragment would also be destroyed, and I doubt the Universal System would protect all of us if fragments of a world fragment falls into New Earth.'
'It would cause a lot of deaths.'
Corey's eyes flashed with a calculating light, but just as he was about to continue communicating with Queen Nerith, Klaus spoke.
"I think I've given all of you time to make up your mind about what to do. Has any of you changed your mind?"
Klaus stared at Corey once again, and then he shifted his gaze to Pamela, before looking at Jeremy, Elizabeth, Rorik, Mathias, and Caesar.
"None?" He clicked his tongue in disappointment. "That's a shame."
He pointed a finger at the sky, and then a cold smile appeared on his face as he looked at Corey.
"Then you can die for your foolishness."
A light shot out of his finger, and Corey frowned for a moment. But his frown drastically changed when he saw that the moment the light hit the sky, it spread, and a massive array began to appear in the sky.
"Corey! That's a large scale teleportation array!" Pamela shouted with urgency in her tone.
She took a step forward and suddenly appeared beside Corey who had an extremely solemn expression.
"They're bringing more people." She said solemnly, but Corey did not answer.
'Maybe if I had the full capability of my mind, I could stop if. No. I cannot. The array has Immortal grade runes mixed into it, and there's no way I can manipulate them.'
'Even Pamela can't, cause if she could, she would have done something instead of talking.'
"No, you don't!"
Queen Nerith opened her left hand, and a thin bolt of lightning with a whirlwind circling around it appeared in her hand.
Without wasting a single second, she threw it at the array in the sky, but a barrier suddenly appeared in the sky, blocking the attack and preventing the lightning bolt from shattering the array.
"Damn it!" She cursed.
Klaus laughed.
And the array flared to life.
A gigantic portal that seemed to swallw the entire sky appeared above them, and nearly a thousand beings poured out of the sky.
However, this was not what made Corey's expression fall.
Asides from the hundreds of Tier 6s and Tier 5s that poured out from the portal, two auras that caused the world to groan came out from the portal.
Two bonafide Tier 7s stepped out of the portal.
