Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1002: 999: The World Tree (1)

The sound of space tearing apart resounded as Corey and Pamela shot out of the shell world. They slid on the floor as they forced their bodies to stop, and then they looked around.

Their eyes widened slightly when they saw that around them was not the pristine and beautiful palace they were used to.

Instead, it was a scene of destruction and death.

The palace was in shambles and rubbles of stone and metal filled everywhere. There were also corpses littered on the ground, and Corey could not help but frown very deeply when he saw that these corpses were of the Silver Elves.

He turned, and looked back at shell world. It was like an extremely large ball that was the size of a bungalow building.

Seeing the size of the shell world, it was not a surprise that the throne room was destroyed. But with the corpses, slashes, craters, and holes on the ground, he kmew that there a fierce battle had occurred in the palace.

'It seems the Silver Elves outside noticed the shell world. They came here to probably try and destroy it, but they encountered another force that seems to be too powerful for them.'

Corey frowned when he noticed that the corpses were releasing an aura that was similar to death qi.

'It seems my fears might come true in the end.'

Corey's gaze landed in a particular direction, and a frown emerged on his face. His eyes narrowed in suspicion, and then they flashed with a pure white light.

'Hmm?'

A pondering light flashed in his eyes, and then he subtly pointed a finger in a particular direction.

A ray of Dream Healing along with a spiritual light subtly flowed into a particular direction. A veil of Infinite Mirage coated the ray, preventing Pamela and Syrelle from seeing the ray of Dream Healing and spiritual light.

"Let's go."

Corey looked at Syrelle who spoke. She had a dark and solemn expression on her face as she looked at the corpses on the floor.

Without waiting for either Corey or Pamela's reply, she turned and began walking toward the exit of the throne room.

Corey looked at Pamela, and then they both followed Syrelle from behind.

As they walked along the corridors, turning to the left and right at times, they continuously saw bodies on the floor, causing them to frown.

After some time, Corey could not help but ask.

"Where's the world tree? And how far are we from it?"

With the pace they were moving at, he was worried that they would be late in saving the world tree and restoring the connection between the world tree and Queen Nerith.

'I thought we were close to the world tree, so I didn't speak when Syrelle began walking instead of running.'

'I might be overthinking it, but I find it strange that she doesn't seem to be in a hurry.'

'Out of everything, I just hope that Jeremy doesn't die anytime soon. I just have to have faith in him that he survives for as long as possible.'

His gaze landed on Syrelle, and his eyes narrowed. 'Which is why we need to get to the world tree as quickly as possible.'

Syrelle, seemingly perceiving his gaze and anxiousness, looked at him.

"We're at the place." She stopped and gestured to her right where a silver door was.

Corey looked at the door with a slight frown. His eyes flashed with a white light, and when he saw what was behind the door, he could not help but look at Syrelle with a strange and suspicious expression.

"Is this a joke? Isn't that your mother's room?"

Even Pamela could not help but look at Syrelle with a strange and suspicious expression.

Syrelle walked forward, and then she placed her palm on the silver door. A glowing hand print appeared on the door, and then the silver door slid open.

Syrelle entered the room, causing Corey and Pamela to look at one another with raised brows.

Pamela shrugged, and then she entered the room. Corey later followed.

He looked at Syrelle who stood before a picture of Queen Nerith and a male silver elf whom he assumed to be the late King of the Silver Elves.

He shifted his attention to Syrelle's expression, and he saw her having a sad expression as she slowly rubbed her hand on the picture of her father.

Despite his eagerness to hurry, he did not rush Syrelle, knowing what it was like to lose one's parents.

After seven seconds, she exhaled, and then she removed the picture, revealing a normal looking wall.

She placed her hand on the wall, and then just like the silver wall, a glowing hand print appeared on the wall.

A ray of light shot out of the wall, and then it landed on her left and right eye, scanning it.

That was not all.

A long silver needle slowly shot out from the wall, and then it pierced into her left chest, and pricked her heart, drawing out an extremely tiny amount of blood.

Corey and Pamela frowned at this, but they didn't say anything when they saw that Syrelle's reaction was the same.

Gears, locks, and whooshing sounds resounded from the wall as it slowly slid apart.

"Only the royal family know about this secret room you're about to enter, and only the royal family can enter this room without triggering the defenses."

Corey and Pamela's eyes widened when they saw how so many defenses were being disabled after the wall slid open.

Lasers, thick metallic doors, guns, sharp thin poisonous wires, and so on.

The number of defenses and the power behind them was staggering and bone chilling.

"Let's go."

Syrelle stepped inside the room, and then Corey and Pamela followed.

The moment they entered the room, the atmosphere immediately changed, and they instantly felt refreshed.

After some time, Corey and Pamela crossed through a barrier, and they stood before the world tree.
