Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1003: 1000: The World Tree (2)

To Corey and Pamela's surprise, the surrounding of the world tree was very similar to the region of colossal trees above the underground city of the Silver Elves.

There were many tall and colossal trees, massive roots, and numerous flowers and plants in the surrounding.

The air had an ozone and metallic scent to it, and the familiar motes of greenish silver light which was the mana of the world of the Silver Elves was in abundance in this environment.

'If Kiefer, Selene, or Willow were here, they would instantly be poisoned by the mana.'

'This realm is extremely vast, and if I'm not wrong, it's as vast as the Chained Firmament itself... Maybe even bigger.'

Corey thought, and then his gaze landed on the world tree which could be seen from anywhere in this realm.

The world tree was the biggest tree in this realm, and it's branches and leaves extended as far as the eye could see.

It was not like a normal tree. Instead, it was silver, and at its crown were countless bolts of lightning streaking across it. The branches and leaves swayed at times as a huge gust of wind seemingly blew at it from nowhere, causing the other colossal trees beside it to sway vigorously.

The lightning at its crown was the source of light for the entire realm, and Corey was slightly amazed by the amount of energy and power he could feel from each bolt of lightning.

'A single bolt of lightning can turn me to ash.'

Clap!

Bang!

Just as Corey had this thought, a lightning bolt fell to the ground, causing the realm to quake furiously due to the power in it.

Corey created a wall of hexagon shields in front of him to protect him from the powerful gust of wind, and then he narrowed his eyes as he felt an extremely familiar aura in the distance.

'Just as I feared. The Book of Death.'

A deep frown emerged on Corey's face as he wondered if it was the Clown that was in possession of the Book of Death.

But a second later, he shook his head. 'No. That is not the aura of the Clown, and it seems to be the aura of an Immortal... An immortal with the Book of Death? Things just got a lot more dangerous.'

He looked at Syrelle. "We need to move quickly. It seems the leader of the Freedom Fighters is with my book and he's using it to attack the world tree."

Corey pointed in the north western direction, and Syrelle nodded.

"I can also sense a sinister aura from the world tree. Let's go." Syrelle vanished the moment she said those words.

Corey and Pamela followed behind, and they began teleporting beside Syrelle, ensuring they were not far behind her.

Syrelle glanced at the duo, and despite already knowing that both of them were abnormal for their Tier, she was still surprised by the ease at which they were keeping track of her even when she was teleporting.

'True monsters.'

Her eyes flashed with a strange light, and then she focused on what was in front of her.

In less than ten seconds, they appeared a few meters away from the world tree, and what they saw made them frown deeply.

There were over a hundred walking corpses running at the roots of the world tree, and when they were close to it, they would explode into a dark mist that seeped into the roots, causing the silvery roots to either turn dark or wilt.

Corey rapidly scanned through everything that was going on, and at first he was about to look at the three individuals that stood out, but his expression became strange when he saw some particular strange beings amongst the walking dead.

'Huh? Neon? Prince?'

He blinked in surprise, but his expression quickly went back to normal as he shifted his gaze to the three individuals who stood behind the army of the walking dead.

He recognized none of them, but he recognized the crests of their organizations.

'A Tier 6 from the mage organization. A Tier 6 from the Temple of Darkness, and the leader of the Freedom Fighters.'

Corey's gaze landed on the Silver Elf who held the Book of Death in his hand, and he observed the man.

Or rather... boy.

The leader of the Silver Elves did not look like a man at all. Instead, he looked like a boy who was in his teens.

He also did not have the usual appearance of the Silver Elves. His eyes and hair were completely black, and his veins which were showing all over his body were completely black.

He radiated the aura of death, and even his expression was as expressionless as the realm of death.

"Hmm?"

The leader of the Freedom Fighters noticed them, and he turned and stared right at Corey.

He raised a brow when he saw Corey, and then his gaze moved to Syrelle and then Pamela.

Corey thought he saw a flicker of relief in the boy's gaze, and he had an idea as to why he would have such an emotion.

'Is he relieved because the queen is not here?'

"Cousin Syrelle." The boy called out to Syrelle with a light smile, and Corey narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Cousin Anton." Syrelle replied with an expressionless gaze, and the boy chuckled.

"Where's your mother?" He asked.

"Where do you think?" Syrelle replied sarcastically with a raise of her brow, and then her gaze shifted to the world tree that sent three bolts of lightning at the walking dead.

The shockwave from the attack caused a translucent barrier to ripple into existence, but it remained firm and did not shatter in the slightest.

Corey glanced at the barrier for a second before looking at Syrelle with a slight frown.

"Corey. Something's wrong."

Pamela's voice drifted into his ears, and he subtly nodded.

"Who are they?" Anton asked.

"They're here to stop you."

"Ohh?" Anton raised a brow in surorise and disbelief. "Okay."

The moment Corey heard these words, his instincts screamed at him, and in the blink of a Tier 6's eye... he vanished along with Pamela.

BANG!

A lightning bolt fell where he previously stood, and after appearing dozens of meters away, he looked at the culprit of the attack.

Syrelle.
