"Been a while, Corey."
Corey smiled when he heard these words from Rosa. Despite the cold changes to his personality ever since the apocalypse began, he would not deny that he missed his companions of the Underworld.
"Yeah. It's been a while. How have you been?"
Rosa exhaled softly while shaking her head. "Well, it's been a lot hanging out with Divine. I've experienced a lot of things… both good and bad. As you can see, I'm already a Tier 6, but you're still a Tier 3?"
She looked at Corey with slightly raised brows. "I thought you'd be a Tier 4 at least, but why are you still a Ter 3?"
Corey was slightly surprised that Rosa was able to know his accurate Tier despite his fusion with the word tree. Because of the fusion, he emitted the aura of a Tier 5, but Rosa was able to figure out what his true Tier was despite just arriving?
'Her observation skills are truly something else.' Corey thought with a slight flicker in his eyes.
"How do you know that I'm still a Tier 3? I'm currently emitting the aura of a Tier 5." Corey decided to ask since he was intrigued by it and no knowledge was wasted.
She poked his arm, and Corey felt a slight tingle in his entire arm the moment she touched him.
'My blood flow increased for a split second when she touched me?' Corey raised his brows in surprise.
Such a thing should not be possible with his nigh-perfect control over his body, but Rosa had for a split second taken control of his blood.
"Your blood." She said with a slightly lost eyes after a few seconds.
"Hmm?" Corey raised a brow in confusion.
"Your blood was what made me to realize that you are still a Tier 3. Although you've changed and you're emitting the aura of a Tier 5, your blood is still that of a Tier 3."
Corey's eyes flickered in realization, and then he opened his palms and observed them.
'She's right. My body got stronger and the world tree's Immortal Mana, essence, and divinity is flowing through me, but my blood which is that of a Paragon is untouched… But for her to be able to sense the blood of a Paragon, just how high is her talent in the path of blood? I know that a major reason as to why she was able to know this is because of the Tier difference between us, but it's still remarkable.'
"Seems you gained a lot from following Divine." He said a few seconds later, and Rosa smiled wryly.
"Well, that's true. But we nearly died so many times. We fought a lot of battles, and it was in those battles my blood arts thrived. I also got a lot of resources that increased one's talents. There were dangers, but there were also sufficient rewards."
Corey smiled, and he could not help but glance at Divine. 'As expected of a Child of Heaven. Those who follow him will also benefit from his luck.'
"So?" Rosa said, and Corey was confused for a moment before realizing what it was that she was saying.
"You want to know why I'm still a Tier 3?"
Rosa nodded. "Yes. You're extremely talented, so I know that reaching Tier 4 should not be a problem for you. And if I remember correctly, you could use Mystic Force when you were a Tier 3 in the Underworld."
"True." Corey nodded slightly, and then he looked at the void crystal hanging from his neck and held it with an affectionate look.
"I needed to find somebody before I… advanced." He said while twirling the void crystal softly.
Rosa raised her brows in confusion and looked at the grey void crystal with a baffled frown. "And… have you been able to find the person?"
Corey nodded. "Yeah… I believe so."
Rosa looked at Corey, and then she shifted her gaze back to the crystal. "Is the person inside that crystal?"
Corey nodded slightly. "Yeah. She is."
Rosa felt her heart constrict slightly when she heard the word 'she' and also from seeing Corey's expression.
"She?" She asked with trembling eyes.
Corey did not reply for a few seconds, and then he exhaled softly as he stopped playing with the crystal.
"Yeah. It's my younger sister."
"Oh." Rosa released a deep sigh of relief when she heard this, and all her fears and worries dissipated like smoke.
"Why did you need to find her before you became a Tier 4? Wouldn't it have been better if you became a Tier 4 first? I mean, you'll be stronger."
Corey remained silent, and then he looked at the sky above.
"Well, it's because I'll most likely leave this world if I advance the way I want to advance."
"What?" Rosa was stunned and confused. "You'll most likely leave? What do you mean?"
She asked, but Corey waved his hand.
"Don't worry about it. I'll explain later. I have something important to check in the meantime."
"But-" Rosa tried to speak, but Corey brought out of the Book of Death in the next moment, and her words got stuck in her throat because of the dreadful aura of the book.
She looked at the book, and then she shifted her gaze to Corey. Although she had a million things she wanted to say, she decided to wait for some time.
'You can't tell me you plan on leaving after everything I did. I followed Divine to get stronger so that I can help you in future battles. All the sweat and blood I shed. All the embarrassing and deadly moments I went through are not going to waste no matter what.'
Rosa's eyes flickered with a possessive light, and then she watched as Corey opened the Book of Death with a frown.
As Corey held the Book of Death, he wanted to know what it could do. The Clown had done a lot of things to get his hands on the book, and as the owner, it would be foolish if he had no idea what it could do.
He opened the book, hoping to see something that would help him understand the Book of Death, but to his disbelief, he saw nothing.
There was only a dirty yellow blank page with nothing on it, and Corey was baffled when he saw this. He opened to the next page, but he saw the same thing.
A blank yellow page.
"What?"
He frowned, and then he kept on opening, but he kept on seeing blank dirty yellow pages. Just as he was about to stop, he saw something different.
However, it was not a writing or a drawing or inscriptions on a page of the book.
No.
It was a torn page.
Three torn pages to be exact.
