Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1056: 1053: Words

Corey had a deep frown when he saw the torn pages of the Book of Death, and he observed these torn pages in curiosity and wariness.

He had never opened the Book of Death before, so he wasn't certain if these torn pages were normal and meant to be there.

By all means, a book with torn pages meant that somebody tore them, but the Book of Death was not an ordinary book and was a completely strange and extremely powerful artifact. He would not be surprised if these torn pages were actually the most dangerous pages of the Book of Death, and he would even be more surprised if these pages had actually been torn by somebody.

Because of how powerful and unique the Book of Death was, he didn't believe that its pages could be torn so easily. In fact, he believed that anybody that could tear the pages of the Book of Death was an absolute monster with unfathomable depths.

But as he was carefully observing the torn pages, he noticed something on the edges of the torn pages, and Rosa also noticed it.

"Is that… blood?" She asked with a slight furrow of her brows, and Corey also frowned.

Rosa stretched out her hand. "May I?"

Corey looked at her, and then he passed the book to her. She flinched at first, hoping that nothing would happen because every instinct in her body and soul was telling her that this black book was absolutely dangerous to her.

She would never have touched it if not for the presence of the bloodstain on the book. She carefully touched the bloodstain, and then her eyes widened slightly a second later.

"It's him." She looked at Corey with a grave expression. "It's the Clown's blood."

Corey's expression became extremely grave. "Are you certain?"

She nodded while handing the book back to Corey. "I'm certain. Aside from Divine's blood, I'll say that the person's blood I've come in contact with so many times to the point that I'm extremely familiar with, is the Clown's."

Corey looked at the blood stain, and although he didn't want to admit it, he knew the truth. The Clown had somehow torn the pages of the Book of Death.

He wanted to deny it, but recalling how abnormal Divine was, he knew that it was the truth. Divine had found a way to damage an artifact that was most likely far greater than 99.9999999% of the artifacts in their universe.

It was absolutely insane thinking about it, and Corey also had an insane thought.

His eyes flashed with a calculating glint, and then he grabbed a complete page and attempted to tear it. But the moment he even let out his intent of tearing the page, the moment he had that thought, he felt extreme fear and for a fraction of a fraction of a second, he felt like the true Death itself was staring right at him.

Corey became drenched in his own sweat, and he let go of the page.

The fear in his eyes receded as quickly as it came, and Corey looked at the Book of Death with a slight frown.

He was not surprised by what he experienced since he expected such, and he knew that the Clown must have experienced a lot worse because he tore off three pages, but because of his immortality.

Since the Clown could not die, he had no fear and could take risks that others could not. Even if they were far more talented than him, Pamela, Divine, and Rosa.

The Clown's immortality was what made him a fearsome figure, and Corey had a feeling that even Death wanted to kill the Clown.

'Well, maybe I'm wrong. I'm sure beings like the Paragon Ancestor, Supreme Ancestor, and Death itself- if Death actually has a consciousness or a body… I'm sure that all of them would be able to kill him.'

'But regardless of that, what does the Clown plan on doing with three pages? Why did he tear off the pages of the book? And where are the pages? Did he hide it in his soul or body? Or did he find a way to send it to the main body?'

'I'll have to ask Divine to check the true clone he stored. It'll be bad if he's keeping the pages of the Book of Death with him and he doesn't know. I don't know what the book does, but it's still a dangerous book.'

'Besides, how do I use this thing?'

"Do you have an idea why the Clown tore the pages?" Rosa asked, interrupting his thoughts, and Corey shook his head.

"I don't. I don't even know what the book does."

Rosa frowned slightly. "Then what are you going to do with it? It seems the Clown clearly knew what the book could do since he desperately wanted the book. He even tore three pages from it despite the danger of the book. I wonder what he plans on doing with them."

"Hmm." Corey furrowed his brows slightly in thought after hearing Rosa's words.

'I got the Book of Death after defeating the being that called himself Death in a system trial. The Clown should not have known that I'll get the Book of Death since the System Trial changed because of my actions, so how did he know that the Book of Death would be given to me as a reward?'

'It should not be possible, but… a lot of things about the Clown are strange.'

Corey looked at the Book of Death once again, and then he thought of something.

He looked at Rosa. "I'll be back."

"What?"

Without saying anything else, Corey teleported high up in the sky and sat cross-legged on a platform of hexagon barriers.

"Let's try this then. It might work, and if it doesn't, I'll have no choice but to take the risk and use my Eyes of Omniscience or my Tri-Pupil Eyes."

If possible, Corey did not want to use his Eyes of Omniscience especially to try and see what was hidden in the Book of Death since he knew that his Eyes of Omniscience could show him unfiltered things he was not meant to see, and this would cause him so much pain.

His Tri-Pupil Eyes could negate that because it was the natural eyes of a Paragon, but he still did not want to use his eyes if possible.

He wanted to see if he could make the hidden secrets of the book reveal itself to him naturally.

Corey exhaled softly, and then he summoned the Crown of the Lifeless Sovereign.

The moment he did this, the Book of Death trembled violently, and then the pages turned rapidly to the first page.

A few seconds later, words began appearing on the surface of the dirty yellow page.
