"You repaired what?! Are you insane, brother?!"
Pamela had the exact same thought and expression as Anna the moment she heard that Corey repaired the statues.
Just the mere auras was enough to nearly make her kneel. What if they were now fully repaired and functional?
What if the statues decided to attack them and kill them for desecrating the land of their god?
So many things could go wrong, and quite frankly, she preferred the statues in a non-functional state than a functional state.
Meanwhile, Corey chuckled when he saw their reactions.
"They are not fully repaired, and I can't even fully repair them if I want to. They're way beyond my knowledge."
Anna and Pamela subconsciously released sighs of relief at the same time.
"They were more damaged than this, but I repaired them a little bit so that they only have one function, and that's to protect me from the tribulation."
Anna and Pamela's eyes widened when they heard this, and they both looked at the statues at the same time. Especially the kneeling colossal humanoid statue.
"They are meant to protect you? But... Isn't this too much? These things are way beyond Tier 7, and I doubt they're even at Tier 8." Pamela asked with a baffled expression, and she recalled that Corey told her that he might also need her to protect him.
She looked at him with an even more baffled expression..
"If you already have these statues to protect you, then why did you say you might need me to protect you? If these statues cannot protect you, then I definitely cannot."
Corey shook his head with a light smile, and then he slowly flew toward the temple. Pamela and Anna looked at one another and followed him.
"I was only able to repair the statues to about 10% of what they were previously, so they can only exert a tenth of their powers. They might not be able to protect me."
Corey's voice drifted into their ears as they flew toward the temple, and Pamela responded.
"These things have at a minimum, Tier 8 level of power. Maybe even Tier 9. And we're not even talking about the colossal statue over there that is clearly beyond all of these all other statues. A tenth of their power is more than enough to kill me."
As they flew, Pamela stared at the colossal statue with a wary expression. She was afraid that it would suddenly come to life and attack her.
Even Anna had the same thought and even more.
Flying to the temple was not an easy feat because it was at the top of the kneeling colossal humanoid statue, and the higher they went, the denser the space around them became.
Fortunately for them, none of them were average and normal in the slightest. They could use their abilities to keep on moving without slowing down.
Meanwhile, Corey's lips twitched since he could not refute Pamela's words. Even with a tenth of their power, the statues were more than enough to destroy all of them.
They reached the temple that was on the hands of the colossal statue, and Corey then spoke.
"You're right in what you said, but you might be able to protect me at any point in time. Like you said, you don't have to risk your life to protect me. I've also done my best to take a lot of precautionary measures to protect myself. The statues are just one of them."
Pamela's expression became even more strange when she heard this, and she could not help but ask.
"What do you plan on creating that you'd have to take so many precautionary measures? These statues should be more than enough to protect you, but you believe that it wouldn't be. Just what do you plan on creating, Corey?"
Corey smiled at Pamela. He could also see Anna looking at him with an extremely worried expression, and a tinge of helplessness appeared in his eyes.
Anna was previously worried about his safety after knowing that what he planned on doing was extremely dangerous, but now?
She was even more worried after seeing these extremely powerful statues that could lay waste to New Earth if they were ever fully repaired and let out of this place.
Corey turned and entered the temple, and Pamela and Anna followed with worried and anxious expressions.
"What I plan on forging is something that has the potential to surpass the universe limit, and after scouring through so much knowledge. I know that I would face a tribulation in doing this."
"What I don't know is how powerful this tribulation would be, but I believe that it would be enough to even draw the attention of the remaining gods of our universe. That's why I'm taking so many precautions."
Pamela and Anna's expression became more solemn when they heard Corey's words, and the worry in their hearts increased.
Corey sensed this, and he could not help but release a soft sigh. He turned and looked at them with a light smile.
"By the way, I thought you guys would ask questions like, which god used to own this divine kingdom and temple? How did the god die? What is the divine kingdom of a god doing at the bottom of the Black Sea? How did I find this place? Where is the statue of the dead god?"
"You know... You guys are actually meant to be asking questions like that." Corey said while gesturing at several parts of the temple.
He gestured at the massive dark grey metallic pillars, the statues around them, the dimly lit formations on the walls and floor, the carvings, and so many other items in the temple.
"We're more worried about you than the story behind this place, brother. Must you really do this, brother? Everything you've told us are things beyond you. You can't even protect yourself. I... I don't want to lose another family member. I lost mum and dad... I don't think I can take it if I lose you too."
Corey's smile and eyes softened when he saw the extremely concerned expression on Anna's face and also the concern in her tone.
"You won't lose me, Anna. You won't."
